i look like that at full depth without my lifting shoes
when they're on if I really focus on being tight it's not an issue
just keep working on your flexibility, stretch daily, especially holding deep squats for a minute or so a few times
stretch your groin and ankles for a few weeks/months, it'll do wonders
Definitely try to use the thumb over grip and keep your elbows pointing a little bit ackwards. This will keep your chest high.
Everybody will jump at me because they have way more gym experience than me. Way more. But that back....from what I've read and gathered, isnt TOO relaxed? Like add some weight and your lower back will be fucked?
Try reading "starting strength".

pls don't make fun of my curtains. Did some quick stretches beforehand but obviously there's still some clear buttwink going on. I went as deep as I could since I feel I'm close to proper form, it's clear to see how much further I need to go here. A few inches higher and I wouldn't be winking.
My gripe with squatting is that my joints click and crunch no matter what I'm doing and it's the worst on squat, so it's not only the bones I'm worried about, it's my tendons as well. This occurs even if I'm wearing the right shoes, and I'm not even training with any weight yet. If the knee is fully bent, surely the tendons are stressed to their maximum? There's no way to stop my knees tracking over my toes either, just how I'm built.
Right now I have running shoes with a solid heel and good inner arch support. If I went further and got oly shoes I'd have to get orthotics to offset my flat feet as well, which would be even more expensive. Not ready to commit yet, as obviously I'm not anywhere near that level
Being tall is hell
edit: my posture is generally bad as well, forward head syndrome. Mainly because I use computers a lot but also being tall means you need to dodge branches, doorframes etc. so I'm basically constantly staring downwards at the ground and normal sized people. My wrists and neck crack the worst, even if I'm not trying to let them. Wondering how early I should start worrying about arthritis, fuck
youre going to run into back problems long run if you squat without a tight back. notice how your lower back isn't straight but basically curved in, thats going to fuck your lower back. It might not at first, but it will at some point.
I backsquat like that, and for whatever reason I cannot eliminate that buttwink, I thought I could with paused back squats but the same shit happens, always around 275-315lbs. I no longer back squat, I just front squat, harder on knees but overall safer. Sucks because I would've been putting up 600+ on back squat by now.
I'll definitely spend one session a week purely stretching and do specific stretches after other sessions to build up that flexibility, maybe start with putting weight on my back but only go as low as I can while still maintaining form. I was just getting bored of stretching to be able to actually do the exercise, but once I get there It probably won't be that much of a commitment to keep that level of flexibility
I'll take up deadlifting just to make things more interesting though. My gorilla-arms should help
Lunges/ split squats and stuff like that will help you build leg strength in the meantime

Damn
I imagine that guy grabbing someone and doing an Ippon on that poor guy. basically all bones broken
I love that tight feeling in my glutes the day after I do some squats and it's been a few weeks.
Been lurking for a little bit, and I had a question. I'm trying to find my caloric intake for weight loss, I read through both the guides in the OP as well as the recommended calculators, but I'm still getting varied numbers. I'm 6'2" 208.2, what should my caloric intake be for weight loss with 1hr weights x4 and 30min cardio x3 a week?
progress pics are okay in here I imagine? I haven't hit my goal yet, but I'm halfway there (10kg out of 20kg) so it feels appropriate to share what I've achieved so far. actually pretty happy with the result, can't wait until I've shed the last 10kg.
linked because only undies in one

99kg to left, 90.2kg to right
had my first session at the gym in 2 weeks today as well, man that was not fun. I went for what I squatted last time to begin with, did 4 reps with no issues surprisingly and at the 5th rep I was completely broken out of nowhere. I was not able to get it back up, so I had to awkwardly fall on the floor as the safety things weren't tall enough to catch them. first time so far where I've failed a rep mid-rep. did surprisingly well on the OH presses, didn't have to deload at all. didn't get around to do the deadlifts though since I was exhausted by the end
Bought myself a gym sub because it's time to get that fucking six pack I've been showing off on my avatar

pretty sure this is the most weight anyone in ireland has ever lifted
That grip strength seems to impress me over everything else like holy SHIT!
Also :v: at the random different sized plates, very old skool of Clarence.

Can Milko lift any faster? Some Chinese teleportation level shit!
holy fuck finally.
Im finally gaining weight. Everytime i bulk, in the past at least, i spend a ludicrous amount of time eating and lifting, without any results until week like 4 or 5, than i start to actually gaining weight.
Maybe its because I usually have to work my way up to getting enough calories to gain, or my body's metabolism is the biggest asshat on earth.

do you guys think it's safe to assume a kebab is at 1000cals? is that overcounted, undercounted or pretty spot on? I haven't really been able to find any specific info since this stuff seems to vary a lot.
what about a chicken wrap from Big Bite? I don't know if Big Bite is international since I can't find any english results for it, but Big Bite is pretty much a Subway competitor in Norway. surprisingly I haven't been able to find any nutritional info which surprises me since this is food from a brand. always logged 700cals, no idea if that's accurate or not
lmao how the fuck are we supposed to be able to tell you
not counting one meal won't hurt you man
if you're worried about it just do some extra cardio
did 315 for 4 sets of 10 for deadlifts. Because the YMCA I go to has phaggot hex plates, I didn't reset each rep and instead just kinda paused them about 6 inches below my knees. Not sure if harder or not, either way fuck hex plates.
Need to work on my strength off the floor though.
but tonight
me and my friends we got money to spend
i don't know what's happening in this thread but seeing drake and josh on facepunch at random made me unreasonably happy

U know there's like 10000 different types of kebab right? Like we have this kebab dish which is fries and salad and kebab plus sauces in one takeout tin and that's easily 2000kcal.
Holy shit, 17 new positive-testers from the IWF worlds that happened in Houston last month. Don't know what to think any more. I mean we kinda all know 98-99% of all lifters "cheat" at the international level, but time and time again we argue it isn't always the make or break factor. I'm guessing testing has got a lot more strict and accurate, as I keep seeing people posting doping exclusions on FB each month.
Is it me or was 2015 the year of war against steroids?
Sometimes I hit a low point where I just don't feel like I'm getting anywhere no matter how hard I try, I still think I can go harder but I just don't know how to get there. Then I start thinking of steroids, its the easy way out, I have a pact to never do them till I'm 25 though.
I got back home last weekend and worked out with my best friend and my god, he did some sick and twisted shit that made me feel noobgains again. EVERYTHING is sore, and for lifting steady for 3 years thats a feeling that doesn't happen too often.
Theres always a way to push yourself further
There is, but gains aren't linear as I'm sure you've figured out. The one thing that I have noticed from being natty for about 5-6 years of pretty heavy lifting, is that while I don't necessarily get bigger I am slowly leaning out and getting some pretty dense mafuckin muscles, not the bloated and puffy look you see in a look of juicers.
Feels good being natty and still being bigger than like 90 percent of juicers. Valon if you want a good laugh go look at the numisc forums and go to the steroid section. You're bigger than 8/10 of those motherfuckers. The only thing with that though is it makes you think how much bigger you'd be if you juiced. brb 6'4 270 lean. fuark

also would a 500x10 deadlift equate to a 600lb dead?

look at these jabronis. Some do look good, I'll admit, but some of these guys it seems they forgot the lifting part of doing steroids

Depends on you, do you find on most other lifts that if you can high rep shit it equates to a much higher 1rm, or can you rep out for like 4 or 5 something almost near your max
