What are you stats currently, and are you going to try to stick to a specific workout plan? What about diet? What are your goals?
What exactly do you mean by stats? Height/weight?
Workout, I don't really have a huge specific plan yet other than working on a few basic exercises every few days (alternating workout and rest days since supposedly doing stuff every day isnt good), honestly I don't think I can do much till I can functionally do at least a push-up :v:
Any recommendations for upper body workout that doesn't require any equipment would be great
Diet is difficult since I am broke as hell but just trying to swindle some decent nutrition on a daily basis.
I'm figuring most of this out as I go, mostly I just want to stop being a flimsey noodle and I think really any exercise is going to be helpful to that at this point
Before you know it, you'll be banging out weighted situps like it's no one's business. Keep it up, you'll make leaps and bounds. It'll always be tough, but you'll be happy since you'll be constantly bettering yourself.
I went from doing normal situps a month ago to now being able to bash out 5kg situps. Feels good! All the best, Rhenae :)
And are you thinking in the line of bodyweight exercises or do you want to start lifting weights?

For now, body weight stuff, although I want to get into lifting weights down the line, too broke to get a hold of such things for now
to everyone who wants to bulk or eat good, keep in mind I'm hitting all my protons and macros as well as vitamins and that bullshit from hella veggies, on about 60 dollars a week. And thats super bulking to 275 in a few short months, not ya'lls pussy bulks

so much broscience
one of my friends says that an upper/lower body split is "good for weight loss and getting into gym" but that a bodypart split is better for "everything else, like toning and strength"
on top of this, my dad says that you shouldn't work out one upper body muscle after the other, you should go upper body muscle to lower body muscle, and you mustn't go more than 70% of your maximum. When I tell him to just look it up online when he doesn't believe me when I correct him, he refuses to.
help
[editline]29th January 2015[/editline]
also my dirty bulk had to end because I put on close to 10 kg in a month without realizing it and my clothes started not fitting
already down again from 94-86 kg though, so it wasn't too hard losing the weight again. Sucks losing those strength gains though

The proper way to deal with people who are broscientists is to encourage them in their habits even more for your own amusement. If they don't get the hint they deserve to get un-optimal gains. The sad thing is that in my experience people only listen to whoever is big in the gym and that often isn't the person who knows the most. I understand why, but a lot of times (at least in high school) the biggest guy in the gym is the closet steroid user.
Since I started working out over the summer, I've noticed I've gotten wider and my chest has definitely become more pronounced, as well as my shoulders getting broader.
I've also put on 25 lbs of muscle. This is a huge step for me. I used to be a skinny little shit, but now I'm a skinny big shit.
And you've met someone who makes you very happy, so I'm glad life's going well for you!
And you've met someone who makes you very happy, so I'm glad life's going well for you!
New car, new girl, new body. New me.
2015 is going to be a great year.
m8 just so you're clear you didn't put on 25 lbs of muscle from summer till now unless you were tren-ning real hard come on
You can't put on 11kg of muscle in 7 months of hard work? I thought that was achievable. Damn.
Well Idk how else I can explain going from 115 to 140 Since july. I have an extremely high Metabolism so I don't gain weight easily. Also, going from barely lifting 45 lbs up to 115 Is kind of a milestone for me.
I really hope I am not coming off as ignorant. This is just what I am guessing what happened.

lol dude
you know how much 11kg muscle is?
next time you are at the grocery store go and pick up 1kg of steak.
Now pick up 10 more of them and try to imagine them on your body, most of it is some parts fat and some parts muscle.

this my friend is 1kg, you go ahead and try to imagine how 11 of those evenly spread out on you would look.
What are your guy's opinions on vitamin supplements with workouts?
What are your guy's opinions on vitamin supplements with workouts?
vitamin is always important, i dont use any tho mostly because im lazy.
[editline]29th January 2015[/editline]
Funny how i know alot about weightlifting but i'm just extremely lazy. Got decent gains, decent strength. However cba to count calories or go on bulking and cutting cycles. Im basically just training and trying to look decent year-round.
How many grams of protein is a good supplement before/after a workout? I bought some powder that doesn't taste like ass and is 25g a serving, is that too much or too little?
I mostly do some pasta and tuna fish and a shake after a workout.
Throw in a meal and you'll be alright

Well what I've heard from this thread so should your daily intake be about 1 gram per 1kg of your bodyweight. But I cannot confirm that, my memory is shit.
I gained almost 10 lbs over the winter thanks to binging on everything my relatives gave me, not to mention I was sampling every brewery on the US East Coast.
I started up a proper regimen now in order to cut down the excess I gained. Typically I always maintain 165 LBs but after winter I found myself at 174, and I almost failed my Fitness Test with my Army unit and our bosses were pretty POed about us (half of our class failed it after the break,) that is when I decided to do something about it.
Beer was immediately cut as college started to roll around (only reserved for parties and even then I restrained myself to drinking only 2-3.) I resorted to eating lean meats, I noticed that I didn't even touch beef for almost a month. I started to cook my own food instead (fuck, I even started shopping organic shit, and that stuff actually tastes better at the cost of a pretty penny) of resorting to eating on the campus (that shit's way overpriced here.) I'm trying to get a regular metabolic cycle going, eating at least three meals a day, at times in college I found myself just eating one large meal and carrying on.
Making right choices, choosing whole grains, declining sodas and staying hydrated, small stuff like that I think are the what yields results. I started to get myself some salads, eating greens, yogurts, all the veggies in almost every form (I didn't know that veggie-grain pasta existed) I cut sugars already, almost always resorting to fruit (clementines and grapes are the perfect snack especially for gaming) So far after a few weeks of 'wise eating,' I dropped to 170 (I weigh myself every morning throughout the month.) My intent right now is to cut down on the body fat, my current I believe is ~20% for my age (I'm going to a rave in March and a 10% drop in BF in the span of approximately three weeks is extreme in my opinion.) I am trying to rid myself of this thin layer of fat around my stomach and waist. I even decided to put myself on a half-Marathon training calendar, putting some mileage into my weekly routine.
I think if I keep this up, I may be able to get back to my regular weight and maybe lower with in a few more weeks .
if we're talking 100% pure muscle, no
Totally possible, if the dude was an Auschwitz survivor before who barely ate or kept active then decided to eat completely turn that around then its fully possible. 115 is light no matter your height, 140 is still light but looks athletic/healthy for most of the short builds. I went from 165 to 195 in the span of my begining grade 11 year to after christmas, are you going to tell me thats not possible? I didnt grow in height, nor did my frame change. I was not fat, nor did I get fat, infact I lost fat. If your going to make baseless claims purely backed up by what the "norm" is for general gym goers then go back to bodybuilding.com's misc section.
how tall are you valon? and what's your weight now?
m8 just so you're clear you didn't put on 25 lbs of muscle from summer till now unless you were tren-ning real hard come on
I don't know man, for a newbie if he trains hard and eats well I def. think it's possible, especially over the course of 7 months. Maybe its not all muscle, but a large amount probably is
I have an extremely high Metabolism so I don't gain weight easily.
Just to clear it up, metabolism doesn't matter as much as you think it does when it comes to gaining and losing weight. More likely than not you're not eating as much as you think you are, which is a common problem many people have

doesn't really matter before or after your workout, that anabolic window shiz is pretty much bullshit. Try to hit (someone correct me if I'm wrong) something like 1.5 grams of protein/kg of bodyweight
tfw you fight your way through winds and snow to get your shoulder day done

This is one of the great things with having gym-equipment at home. The negative thing is that I need to buy a better barbell and more weights.

Unless you were measuring your body fat percentage with fucking calipers or lab tests the entire time, I would be highly skeptical of how much of that gained weight was actually muscle.

Lets not berate the guy just because he has weird views! I'm sure even Hitler could have benefited from some good lifting advice.

Even if you keep the same bodyfat % you are still gaining fat, not saying you didn't know this, but something to keep in mind.
