Well I was mostly joking about the whole greek god thing. I don't want to be you know, super buff, just a toned, moderately sized build. I'm doing a lot of reading, plus when my workout buddy gets off work, he's going to be teaching me a lot. What's your guys's takes on supplements? I know there not like, "OH TAKE THIS AND SEE RESULTS INSTANTLY!!!1!!" But do they really give you just a small boost?
what kind of supplements? the only ones ive ever used are the protein powders with water right after a workout, i found that i wouldn't ache as much the next day which was handy.
Massive post that I cant agree with any harder
I love this. I'm saving it, you couldn't have said it any better.
What's wrong with red meat? There's not much to gain at all from cutting protein sources out of your diet. Red meat is not bad for you at all.
I'm not going to say that I don't eat red meat (I love steak and ground beef/pork), but red meat does have some characteristics which are not ideal for health. It doesn't move through the bowel very quickly, and some of the chemicals produced in the cooking process are associated with issues such as cancers - notably polycyclic-amines are suspect. The fats in red meats are very nice to have when lifting, as they up the calorie count. If you're cutting, a higher white meat to red meat ratio might be preferable. Just eat a balanced diet, and be sure to include meat of all colors.
Just gonna go out and say this, what the fuck doesn't give you cancer these days? Rather die fukkin jacked and happy than 'healthy' and sad lmao. Carcinogens are everywhere these days
yo faggots I just got around to doing my PRs again and my thighs still hurt a week after my squats. Did I fuck something up? This recovery time is bs
Well somebody read forks and knives... But seriously the supplement industry is a giant scam. The only supplements that are moderately useful for the general lifting population are: Multivitamin, Melatonin, Creatine, certain kinds of Ephedra (also dangerous), caffeine/preworkout and protein powder/mass gainers for convenience. Beyond that anything that actually works is probably just weak oral steroids in a package that says Ultra Anabolic Elite Super Extra Strength All Natural* Test Booster Anger Engage Professional Revised Formula**

fuark brahs what do I take to get over a cold/sinus infection? Shit sucks, I've slept 24 hours in the past 2 days and still feel tired
So at the moment I do push-ups, sit-ups, planks, and squats. Is there anything I should add in? I'm not looking to burn fat or gain muscle just keep myself in shape as I hate running and the gym.
Look up crunches and diamond push-ups
fuark brahs what do I take to get over a cold/sinus infection? Shit sucks, I've slept 24 hours in the past 2 days and still feel tired
from someone who has dealt with a million sinus infections, the only thing that i can say that truly works is drinking loads of water steam showers, hot soup, emergen-c, mucinex etc. might help but it's hydrating that counts. you can also try that saline spray/gargling salt water sinus stuff sucks hard, it always takes a while to get over. i remember last time i had one of these i thought i was done with it and got wasted off my ass and woke up with a headache so bad i almost went to the hospital. be careful
ultra anabolic ephedra dianboline extreme to the max fuel gains machine crunk juice.
Well, I know what to market now.
fuark brahs what do I take to get over a cold/sinus infection? Shit sucks, I've slept 24 hours in the past 2 days and still feel tired
wait it out taking shitloads of vitamin C, like 2000mg+ a day might shorten it a bit but nothings going to cure it quick
So at the moment I do push-ups, sit-ups, planks, and squats. Is there anything I should add in? Having a healthy back is pretty important. Upper back strength helps to keep the arms in their proper position, and improves posture. Pull ups are an excellent way to strengthen the upper back. Google "pull-up progression" and you'll find some great resources for easily gaining the strength to perform the exercise. For your lower back you could do some casual back hyperextensions. (http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/ErectorSpinae/WtBackExtension.html) If you're up to it, deadlifting starting with low weights and a slow progression scheme can be one of the most beneficial anaerobic exercises for your quality of life. Learning the movement is actually helpful in and of itself, as it trains you to handle heavy things properly. You'll remember to maintain your posture when moving shit like furniture. I used to not lift heavy weights, and I thought I felt great at the time. There are subtle things that strength training can improve in your life you might not consider. E.g. Driving long distances is much more comfortable now that my back is properly developed.
Holy shit, I bought some pre today called anarchy and that was definitely the best workout I've had in a while. It's one of those preworkouts that makes you feel like you can run a marathon with a house on your back or some shit, definitely have to watch how much I take for fear of cardiac arrest :v: The pump was too real
WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOOF WWOOFOFFFF
thanks brahs for the info on beating this sinus infection or whatever it is. Already down 10lbs in about 2-3 days. I was already super duper dosing vitamin c but haven't drank much water. Gunna down a few gallons now. Also pretty fucking close to gold member, feelsgoodman. Sucks I picked such a dumbass name when I was 11
I don't think you can earn GM anymore...
I don't think you can earn GM anymore...
im pretty sure you do after x amount of years + 2000 posts
I've just accepted I will always be a blue member because every time I've gotten close to the requirements they change.
I've just accepted I will always be a blue member because every time I've gotten close to the requirements they change.
all that glitters is not gold
Moved up to 50lbs dumbbells today. As a not-that-big guy without clear exercise goals, lifting 100lbs over my head while standing, repeatedly, was a great feeling. Especially since I was using 30s a few months ago.
I've just accepted I will always be a blue member because every time I've gotten close to the requirements they change.
All you're missing out on is the GMF (which has some good shit tbh even if I never really visit it), a color change, and better avatar limits. I know it's easy to say the grass isn't greener when you're standing on the supposed good side, but I wouldn't pay $5 for it if I was in your shoes.
for $5 you get to chat with all the hottest socialites of fp in the gold forums and get to be a part of all the freaky eyes wide shut orgy sessions garry holds (you aren't missing out on anything except nerds making fun of even bigger nerds on the internet)
I've found push presses are great for OHP plateaus, up from 170lbs to 185 for 3 reps over the course of 2 months, such a pain in the dick to increase weight with.
Anybody listen to Pantera to lift? Or metal for that matter? Theres something about timing your reps to the tune of "this love" that just helps ignore the pain and push that extra 50% They have a song called "hollow", that on numerous occasions my vision started going black... fuck pussy happy shit, gotta have metal to get anywhere [editline]23rd January 2016[/editline] I'm listening to it in my truck right now to help get me amped up
i also had it set as my alarm a while back so now it kinda triggers me
got 190 for 3 on deadlifts, was fucking hard but considering Im dropping weight at the same time and my deadlifts have fallen behind in my program I'm pretty stoked. Also saw a 300 kg deadlift in person, guy weighs 100 kg too it was damn impressive
I finally got to 70kg on bench, for 3 reps. Maxed deadlift at 110, 10 kilos more than last time
