Our bench's are still pretty close but your squat and deadlift are way ahead, fair play
yes but you're also not fat
checkmate, athiest
Ayyy did 175lb front squats in 5x5, and that was after sets of 315 back squats to the floor.
I think my deadlift has plateaued at 455lb until I can get chalk or straps. My hands just sweat too much, and I end up focusing more on how my grip is slipping than I do on keeping proper form.
On that note, help me improve my grip, because I genuinely have no idea how to work that besides like.. forearm curls to death.

There is a grip training subreddit, they might have some training resources that would interest you.
How have your lifts progressed since then? It'd be cool to see a now and then.
man i wish i took progress pics
i think i posted some a while back so i can try to find those
Been gyming 5 days a week since new years and sort of fixed my diet. Gains are real, but I think it's time to actually eat what I'm supposed to. I guess...
Breakfast protein shake, lunch sweet potato, dinner chicken breast/steamed broccoli/green veg. Sometimes brown rice thrown into the mix.
I give it 4 days :v:
steamed broccoli is great
asparagus is my fav green tho
sweat potato + brown sugar is the bees knees
What do you boys do for lunches when you're bulking? At the moment I'm pretty much doing meat pies but hell, 30g protein is sufficient but 300-400 calories ain't enough, the gravy probably isn't healthy and the pastry wouldn't be sufficient for carbs.
I used to do chicken breasts but I never liked them as they always came out if the oven really dry, and when reheating one taken from the freezer, it would always still be cold in the middle.

Deadlift with bands, throw a band over the bar diagonally and slip your feet in at each end. Pulling with bands is like a hybrid between normal deads and rack pulls. It can feel like the band is trying to rip the weight out of your hands, requiring a hard squeeze to hang on. Also improves your lockout power.
My grip strength is strange. I don't have spectacular squeezing power, I can't squeeze a high resistance captain of crush, and can't crush someone's hand in a handshake. But I can pull 455lbs double overhand and hold on with nothing but my fingers, purposefully taking my thumbs away from the bar. The isometric hold strength in my fingers is crazy strong for some reason these days, I'm in no danger of failing any 1RMs due to it any time soon. Funny, because I have much, much smaller hands than the average male. They are on par with average to below average sized female hands.

I just stick with chicken breasts. I've learned to love eating them no matter how dry or bland they are.
Depends on how much time I have, I usually have ~2kg of meat and some chopped mixed greens. Tacos are easy to bulk prep in advance, and you can make them reasonably healthy.

Why are you eating them dry and bland? Try brining your meat, use a meat thermometer (~160F), and use some spices and fat.
Vinegrettes are pretty easy to make, and you can use them to get some raw garlic (gotta get that sulfur), vinegar (enhances glycogen storage), and olive oil (calories) into your diet.
Got my jar of creatine mono.
I'm happy now.

how tall you atm?
Back in the gym after whatever the amount of months I've been fucking sick for. Weird as hell to be back, gained tons of weight, lost lots of gains but ready to get back into the swing of thing.
I was reminded today why I fucking hate the bodybuilding culture though, everyone is fake as fuck. 90% of the guys there all look the same, same clothes, same shape, same weight, same haircut, same trim and all walking with that same tough guy demeanor like they got 2-3 times the mass they actually have on them.
Probably not a single guy I've seen at the gym today had a personality going past his muscles.
That is why I do bodyweight at home and hide my muscles when I go out. Don't want to be clumped into those people.
What's a tough guy demeanor look like anyways as I've never been around people like that long enough to notice.
I dunno, most of the people at my gym are down to earth, then again most do either power lifting or BB competitions and I can count on my hands how many are in the college age so maybe it just has to do with an older amount.
For whoever was talking about grip strength, I feel ya on that. If I don't chalk up past 2.5pl8 on my DL I have trouble from my disgustingly sweaty hands, shit sucks yo.
But as for clothes, yeah I love Streetwear cause of that, layering and baggier top pieces let you hide your gains.

all i know is people who think theyve "earned" a "tough guy demeanor" bc they lift weights are fucking losers

They walk like they're fridges. Imagine putting a bowling ball beneath both your armpits.
peace
It's funny, before I got to college I was way more confident and felt like I was pretty big at 190lbs. Now that I work out with other D1 football players I feel puny at 215. Strong, big and fast are all relative terms.
strong big and fast like my penor

Considering buying a cheap bench to play around with a barbell.
Are there any brands that you know/love that are reliable?
Only brand I can seem to find in Australia no longer actually produce stock (so it's all old).
why not just join a gym

Used stuff in aluminum or steel. I know like no brands when it comes to benches but just look and see that the welds are allright and it doesn't tip backwards easily.

Part of me was thinking "hey, maybe she was just nervous", but shit, that seems unlikely!
