When i say lean I mean in acceptable conditioning for myself, maybe 20-25% bf
Thinking of starting a cycle/blast and cruise after my 20th birthday (would mark around 3 years of proper training) which is coming up in a couple months, gonna research and ask for advice everywhere before I do but I'm kind of keen, just not fully set on it yet. Happy with how much I've done so far, but I'm getting bigger a LOT slower at my height atm, just need to get a little leaner. Want to reach ~140 kg at a slightly better condition than I am now and I'll be happy, though that's only my goal in the next 10-20 years, and only if I do hop on and gradually increase. I know Maverick you used to take, what was your experience? If anyone else used to/is on atm would appreciate any advice you could give. Going to read that one massive post soon too

Also I get that 20 is pretty young, just right now for the past year or so keeping the training up I've seen minimal size gains which is what I'm focused on (strength too of course). The strength gainage has been alright it's the size that has stagnated, have tried changing my diet and done different exercises/programs etc but it's kept at more or less the same. Plus I know 140 ""lean"" at my height is not achievable natty, and it'll be quite a goal of mine. Also as I said I can still easily be convinced against it, just want opinions and research atm
On right now - I'd say do research and do it.
>Lean
>20-25% BF
Uhhhh... you said 3 years of working out?? 5'8 140kg is monster, you'd be looking at a fat powerlifting build. What are you at right now?
Maveric helped me a FUCKLOAD with questions, I was going to do a cycle but because of work I'm going to set the idea aside for a little. I'll have to ask maveric first, but I could forward the advice he gave me?
But if you think 20-25% bf is lean, then you're probably too clueless to take gear
don't worry I'm not clueless, I know 20-25% bodyfat isn't lean by all standards (see my above post), by lean I meant lean enough for me because I don't really care about abs and the like, don't mind a little bit of chub on me plus it would be a requirement to get to 140 at this height basically. I'm closing in on about 26-28% bf (haven't measure my bodyfat accurately so it's a decent amount of guesswork, but I would say it's not a bad guess) at 93-94 kg bodyweight right now. If you could forward that it would be amazing please, thanks a ton
Dude, you would probably be diesel enough at 5'8" 140kg to be a powerlifting world champion, thats actually absurd. Im currently 6'4" and around 125kg at your bf and I would never want to be bigger than this. You'd be like double the size between the height and weight differences.
Does anyone actually do sports anymore? Or is it just gym all day every day but rest day. I was hoping for a thread but it doesn't exist.

I recently stopped doing MMA and only do strength training but I would be interested in a sports thread.

I play football but in Ireland so I'm not sure if it really counts. I havent been to training in nearly a month because of exams and stuff.

yeah actually that reminds me eric lilliebridge is 5'10" and weighs around 315 lb on the odd occasion, so it would be similar to him just not as cut as he normally is. Would be cool if I could be that strong too, but being 140 kg would mean a 300 kg squat is pretty much required so it might take a while :v: as I said it's just an end goal, on the assumption I do decide to take which i'll still be considering for a while, and assuming I do if I start to feel too big I'll just stop gaining and maintain. I can see it being possible at least, as I've never had a problem bulking so far

First of all I'm skinny and want to get bigger but it's almost impossible with all the kickboxing and wrestling/jiu jitsu I did, you lose to many calories and beat yourself up too much.
I'm also kinda broke at the moment so I can't afford to frequent good gyms. I got a membership at a cheap wing chun place that has an interest group for gracie jiu jitsu but the lessons are an hour long and 40 minutes of them are just the sifu talking shit. It's almost like a cult.
Lastly, MMA is pretty brutal on your knees and spine, I'd rather have a functioning body when I'm old than be the best fighter I can be, I'm not getting into the UFC anytime soon anyways.
I might start doing boxing or something again when I get into uni this fall but my other training comes first since I'm going to major in physiotherapy and my body will be a big factor in how many clients/job offers I will get.
man olympic lifting is real fun
shame it's such a niche sport, 1 gym out of like 10 is going to have a platform
I've been eating a lot of canned fish recently, didn't realize how affordable mackerel and salmon can be.
Anyone have any recipes or preferences?

This will probably sound gross but I love it. I take canned tuna and mix it together with ajvar, the relish in my profile pic. I then either eat it on bread or eat it with tortilla chips. Super easy and pretty good nutrition value.
If you like ajvar you can also make an ajvar sauce by mixing ajvar and cooking cream. I put it on chicken breasts when I bake them in the oven but I bet you could put it on pieces of fish as well.
Any kind of meat w/ rice mixed in a sour cream&butter sauce with curry or whatever spice im feeling is great.
I also play football you nerds.
Progress

Been tracking calories and been pushing 5k up from 4.2k with considerably less activity. I feel like a bloated piece of shit and am probably going to get fat, started doing some Jui Jitsu and Kickboxing though so we'll see how that factors into things because that shit makes me tired as fuck.
About 215 right now, shooting for 230 by the end of the summer. Finally starting to see the original vision come together, at 230 I'm predicting I'll be around 20% when I first get there hoping I can just lean on out at that weight. Unless the coaches tell me I need to get up to 240 and in that case fuck asthetics because it's damn hard to look good at that weight naturally. Big yes, good debatable.

Actually on second thought have no idea what bodyfat% I'm at right now what does that picture look like to you guys? Estimates obv
It's very hard to guess but I'd say around 25%. You will probably drop from the kickboxing and jiu-jitsu but I can't even imagine eating 5k calories so I'm not sure. Anyways, weight is weight in fighting and I imagine football, what matters is that you feel comfortable. 25 - 30% isn't bad at all.
It's very hard to guess but I'd say around 25%
wtf his pic looks around 11-14% depending on how he stores fat, 25% is seriously and obviously overfat looking, and he's on the verge of abs
if that's 25 then i'm at like 40% lmao
20+ you'd have quite a bit of lard on you
which this fella doesn't
Guessing BF% never works but anyway I'd guess like between 15-20%
Also I finally stopped giving a fuck and train even when I don't feel like it. Seems like my "curse" is gone after several years thanks to thinking differently and positive. Feeling good about myself and do stuff anyway.
I wish it disappeared my bad way of thinking when I was 16-17 years old but eh It's better now at almost 22 than never. Now to forget about the negative past and just focus on my future with lifting and never stop.
It is a weird feeling but it's good that I have changed.

grats this is the best point, means lifting is now with you for life more than likely and it'll be pretty hard to stop unless life heavily gets in the way
[editline]20th May 2016[/editline]
also been doing a more bodybuilding focused program to help heal my back, training like a fucking demon and it feels great. While it's probably not the best way to do things going to failure or almost failure on most exercises is just amazing for once, and after gym I feel absolutely spent. Nothings better than throwing on some heavy metal and repping out 150's for rows not giving a fuck about anything else except the weight
Looking pretty good for 215 Nevermind.! Starting to get some musculature going, sucks being tall eh? Delts are lookin' nice
This is 225 @10 or whatever, I'm at 230 right now but I dont have a recent pic
