Finally my inner thigh pain is gone
Squats never felt so good
also today after waiting for a squat rack this massive guy using it said he was finished and shook my hand
people really underestimate how friendly people can be in the gym
no idea why he shook my hand though lol
Because, bwoy, yah Vol'Jin. Everyone gotta respect dah Vol'Jin, mon.
I'm starting to get nasty stretch marks on my inner bicep/shoulder/quads/calves. Has anyone here dealt with them, and how?
Assuming its from you getting hyuuuuge, wear them like a badge of honor. You earned them, use it as a sign of progress.
However, if you hate them a lot, they don't really go away per say but they do fade so much you basically can't see them anymore and you're back to normal. Takes quite a while though.
I figured out why I'm so tired lately. I've caught a bug that been making me congested and feel like sleeping all day. How should I work through it?
Normally when I get sick I just stop exercising altogether, but I don't really get sick often so it usually comes at a convenient time when I feel like I need to take a week break or something. Rule of thumb would be if it's something like a head cold you can work through it if you want to, but if its anything more serious and you have a temperature etc rather just sit it out than risk making yourself worse.
aw yeah
did a bodyweight clean & jerk @ 155 lbs
almost broke my back though top lel
mirin'
I need to try and start practicing some oly lifts, they seem really fun to do
I dont think I want to cut yet, but say if I do, how well would this routine work? Three days per week:
Day A
Squats (3x5)
Bench press (3x5)
Bent-over rows (3x5)
Good mornings (3x5)
Overhead press (3x5)
Wide-grip lat pulldowns (3x5)
Day B
Unilateral leg press (4x5)
Decline bench press (3x5)
Dumbbell rows (4x5)
Deadlifts (1x5)
Upright rows (3x5)
Underhand lat pulldowns (3x5)
So like it would go ABA one week and BAB the next, with full rest days between each workout day. Would those exercises target every muscle sufficiently and is that an appropriate volume?

they're honestly the most fun lift for me because once you get past a certain strength threshold, developing oly lift strength is just about technique and balance.
i remember the first time i tried c&j on 155 like 2 weeks ago, i actually fell over during the front squat part because my balance was terrible. i got a HUGE rash on my neck from the bar rubbing against it on the way down. once you get into the hang of it though, it really gets your blood going.
also did i mention it makes you flexible as fuck? i can bend my fingers backwards farther than i've ever done in my life, and my hip flexibility is shooting through the roof.
^Also increases your jump height and sprint speed.
I've been powercleaning the bar up for my front squats
it's surprisingly fun
should probably take a better look at oly lifting
fuck my life
so i read that putting some baby powder on your quads/knees helps you avoid the skin tug when the bar gets stuck on your legs(though i know my form kinda sucks so if it was perfect id be able to avoid this problem entirely)
i tried it for lels and it literally added like 20 lbs to my max deadlift because i was consistently getting the bar stuck on my knees/legs(i'm a sweaty dude :<)
pulling 425 at 155 u mirin? finally past that 4 plate plateau, thank you based baby powder.
[editline]1st April 2015[/editline]
also one of my highschool powerlifting friends just posted a video of him pulling 435 @ 142 lbs
wow i aint shit

I'm sure it helps a little bit, but 20 pounds sounds like its more of a placebo effect than anything
Either way, nice work, dude
Bros, the one armed dude at my gym can deadlift 185lbs. Imagine deadlifting with one arm.....

Heavily, 4pl8 dead is basically one of my goals after I'm done with this final mega-cut, currently 3/4pl8 away

Fuck I really need to start trying them then thanks, flexibility isn't TOO bad for normal powerlifting but could definitely go with an improvement, jump height and sprint speed are things I'd rather not mention :v: is technique learnable alone or would I have to get someone to start me off?
You'd need to be reasonable flexibly to start. You'd be able to learn the power variations of clean and snatch on your own, maybe even the real ones if you put the work in, but its much easier if you have someone to show you.
holy shit that 1 arm stabilizing strength
mirin through the roof today
Sickening wrist strength. My wrist would blow up on that bench press
[editline]3rd April 2015[/editline]
I'd probably drop the thing on my face too and drop the plates on everyone's feet within a mile radius
I decided I'm not going to make excuses to skip the gym another day this week so despite having 4 hours of sleep and feeling like shit, I completed a full chest/tris/shoulder day. Feels good brahs
Finally beat my squat plateau of like 2 months
No clue what my max is atm, but I got in a good 5 reps with two plates, which is more than I've ever tried before
2 weeks off school, time to get ripped.
I started the first day off with 1000 calf raises in the shower. That feeling of not being able to walk because your calves just won't move is amazing.

That's a good start, now get some weight behind that so you can really feel your calves blowing up.
lifting on a cut is a bitch, run out of energy half way through
What kind of cut are you on lol
I'm on a cut now and I don't have energy problems
Hey NOONE, or anybody that does oly lifting, how close is a persons opener in a competition to their max on that lift?

I'm probably running too much of a defecit
Not sure if I gained 5 lbs or just had to shit.
Starting to become happy with most of my form for the SL lifts except maybe bench, seem to get a little wrist pain that needs working on. Why can't it be as easy as pick things up and put them down????

Don't have anybody really that I know of who does oly lifts, including personal trainers and the like so I'll probably have to learn it on my own. Need to dedicate a day to trying out all of them, gonna see how next week goes might try get a session in then.
[editline]3rd April 2015[/editline]
Also, are they generally just considered full body exercises

Bench is the only exercise I've struggled with in SL. I've kept at it for over 2 months now, can squat my body weight, I do every other exercise fine but I always fuck up with the bench. Think I'm at 40 kg with it right now, which I feel kinda embarrassed about, since that's reasonably light for most people.
Just hit 325 for Squat. Puts my combined at 850 (DL 325/Bench 200). So close to getting a G by the end of the year, going to start heavily training more bench press so I can get it up to around ~250, 260 and keep on keeping on with the squat and deadlift. Considering I'm at 184 BW and still a high school senior, I'm pretty optimistic about my ability to get massive numbers in my lifetime.

okay what the fuck
am i the only one that can deadlift a damn decent number higher than their squat
because it sure seems like the opposite for most people. i'd be mad jelly to squat 325
