How do you guys handle when you have a cold with coughing? I am currently at my 3rd rest day and it feels wrong...
Just stay in and don't screw over other people by getting them sick either.
I just try to stay hydrated and eat properly if the sore throat comes into play.

Haven't gone into the gym i mostly run atm.
Ill see if i can do it tonight if the throat is better.
Rec center gym. Really awesome price, really great set up.
Downside is shit tier open hours (M-Th 7a-10p which isn't that bad, but F 10a-8p, Sat/Sun 10a-6p) and closed on every damn government holiday you can think of.
Doesn't your gym give you an access key? The one in my town lets me have one so I can come in at the dead of night if I wish
242 lbs or less brahs, I am shrinking.
I'm cool with it though, feels more natural for me, feels easier on the knees, breath easier. I feel like an athlete at this weight, before I always felt 10-25 lbs too heavy for what I was, but I think I've forced my body to finally just accept that I'm not going to be sub 240 anytime soon. Easier than maintaining 265 holy fuck lol.
Finally gonna start throwing in hill sprints and maybe just maybe jumps. Oly lifts are moving up, hit 225 snatch after blowing my back out on the movement like 5 times and causing me to lose hella gains. Only been back training oly heavy for about a month, but lifts are definitely increasing, just need to get my squat back up to pace. Aiming for 275 Snatch and 350!?!#$1 clean & jerk. Cleaned 340 in hs, couldn't squat it up though lol, but that was years ago.
Finna incline 315 this summer too, heavy dips are GOAT for increasing bench. Get my legs back and get my pop back
[editline]6th July 2015[/editline]
Shit, 239 tonight lol.
fuck I wish my gym had proper parallel bars
I miss dips

2:34 300kg double overhand deadlift, dat grip strength tho
Theres this other Irish lifter, plays running back for Trinity college, he broke the Irish record a few years back with a 300kg deadlift
I've dropped from 265-270 down to 255ish and its not that much weight and I feel way better but my god the lifts suffered, I used to push 110s easy on my incline DB press and now I cant even get 1 rep :(, could also be the fact I need to get back on my football eating schedule, always get skinnier but stronger on that.
Go to shoulder press a bunch of doubles @ 1pl8 today, ended up banging out 5 sets of 5
I cant explain dez gainz
I finally broke through my bench plateau. Instead of doing overhead press first I've started doing bench press first (probably should be first anyways) and instead of restricting warmup to just the empty bar, I increment the warmup weight by 20kg for a few sets (without exhausting myself) until I get to my working weight (probably should have been doing that too).

Kind of sidetracks, and is not super specific to lifting, but it does raise some informative points as to when our peaks and valleys are for things like Testosterone and body temp. Apparently, a higher body temp can yield some sort of magical increase in muscle growth, up to 20% more in that workout, compared to working out "cold".

Hm? Nope. Never heard of such a thing at all actually at any gym. Show up when they are open or don't show up at all.
My friend gave me a shoebox full of old supplements he doesn't use anymore and I took a random one and now my hands are tingling. I don't feel like I'm gonna die like when I took craze but I probably shouldn't take a whole packet next time
that's it gents, hit two lifetime pr's today, by far the strongest workout of my life probably because the guy I was gymming with was moving insane weight
4/3/2/1 has been reached, got a 145 kg close to atg squat, and a 180 kg deadlift (no straps mind you, just mixed grip)
[editline]7th July 2015[/editline]
still around 83 kg bw too
Sick m8
all I need for 4/3/2/1 is the deadlift, which is wayyy behind
What does 4/3/2/1 mean exactly?
Or 5/3/1 for that matter
4/3/2/1 is a benchmark for strength, once you hit those numbers you can pretty much say you lift.
It goes
4pl8 (180kg, ~405lb) Deadlift
3pl8 (140kg, ~315lb) Squat
2pl8 (100kg, ~225lb) Bench
1pl8 (60kg, ~135lb) Shoulder press
5/3/1 is an advanced powerlifting program
Its called that because on the first week you work up to a heavy set of a of 5 reps on your lifts, second week 3 reps, last week you go for a 1rm. Thats a loose explanation, theres a whole book written on it

I remember our lifts being super similar, what are yours at now again?
Squat is 115kgx5 ATG, 150kgx1 just below parallel
Bench is 90x5
OHP is 60x5
Deadlift is 160x1, started training it again and I'm at 145x3
Bodyweight is 85kg
fucked my shoulder up at work so skipping gym tomorrow aaaaaaa
on the bright side, I finally decided to suck it up and squat whenever my rountine says despite knee pain and they actually feel better
just started squatting bodyweight though (roughly 75kg at 6ft 3") and fucking hell it's tough
hit 260x3 on incline bench today, feels goodman.
hitting incline and dips hard this summer to see if it translates to a bigger flat bench. so far it seems to be working, dips are fucking god-tier for my front delts its seems
[editline]7th July 2015[/editline]

hm Im at 4/4/3/1.5, apparently I lift!
My dead is pretty shit but its still 4pl8 plus probably 25-30lbs

What does "pl" mean?
I assume those weight levels are 1RM
pl8 = plate
Squat is 115kgx5 ATG, 150kgx1 just below parallel

ohp game stronk brah, could maybe do 60 for 3 fresh
What does "pl" mean?

yeah they are, also pl means plate which is a 20 kg either side, so a 1pl8 deadlift is 60 kg bar inclusive
feel like I'm approaching a 2 plate OHP, but idk ohp is a bitch and I'm really really light right now.
I could jerk probably 330-350 lbs rn though.
Sidenote, I've been tracking my weight multiple times a day and it seems I lose about 7-8 lbs on average from 10 hours of sleep, is this normal?
Yay I got back to squatting my own bodyweight now 1 pl8 (~150lb)
I'm so fucking skinny..
i have returned with life gains
got a big promotion in my engineering career & moved to a bigger company, now making 92k USD + 6-7k bonus. not fucking bad for being out of school for less than a year(unofficially, still gotta wrap up my degree though rekt)
my lifting life took a decent dive but now that things are leveling out I can finally start to focus more on my health again. fattened up to about 170 lbs/77 kg since i spent so much time programming and learning new frameworks/libraries, but still going strong. next week gonna try series of maxouts and see how far i've dropped(or stayed the same, if my high proton diet has kept these muscles in check). stay tuned folks.
