That reminds me, anybody else notice they tend to bench/ ohp more after front squatting? Guessing its cause similar muscles used to stabilise front squat are used in pressing movements
i tell ya what, learning how to front squat properly gave me a shitload of stabilization strength, and its pretty great
Any oly lifts you guys recommend doing? Snatches?
If you only do one, do powercleans
power snatches are pretty fun [editline]13th July 2015[/editline] and yeah power cleans too
Sweet I'll try it out Also which realm is this monster from?
damn that bar bend, i feel like its going to rip right in two also what do you brahs think of this
accidentally hitting that pedal would suck
damn that bar bend, i feel like its going to rip right in two also what do you brahs think of this
for $600 you may as well just buy a power cage, and a flat bench. also speaking of bending bars
is that like a swim noodle with weights attached
Just to be clear, what's stopping me from alternating between bulking and cutting every week?
The biggest thing is usually you don't need to cut for as long as you bulk. Cutting for a week and bulking for a week I imagine would make progress pretty slow and just be annoying to do off and on like that [editline]14th July 2015[/editline]
As an engineer, genius As a consumer, nah
Would be something that gyms would buy more than a consumer IMO I'd love it if my gym had something like that Power rack isn't really the same. You can't do a full down-to-chest bench press with a power rack because either safety bars are below your chest (useless) or they are above (preventing you from doing the full motion)
135 for 3 on squats, probably couldve done 140 for 4 fresh but this was about 3 sets in so I was hella happy. Leg strength seems to be exploding, might be able to bag 180 next year sometime also pecs are healed, just did a couple lightweight sets on about 75 or 80 kg to get back into it, didn't want to stress them too much
4 weeks on the diet and I'm still struggling most days to come up with interesting things to eat This week is my week off gym for the month so I've got a bit more time to sort things out but even then I can't find decent ideas, my cooking knowledge extends as far as "cook meat then put vegetables/salad next to it" or stir frys, but every time I look online all I find is some idiot's attempt to look clever on a food blog with a list of overly convoluted and impractical recipes [editline]14th July 2015[/editline] but I might be overthinking things. I'm sure there's 100 decent ways to prepare chicken Should find a few hours this week to sort it out
Easy way to cook chicken Put it on a pan and put a lid on it then just wait
Easy way to cook chicken Put it on a pan and put a lid on it then just wait
For even better chicken: apply heat
Yes heat is good
For even better chicken: apply heat
and what, cook all the protein out????
There has got to be more ways to cook chicken besides grilling and boiling...
oh also got rehband knee sleeves from a gym buddy who used them about like 5 times before getting sbd's. Usually they cost around ~R1000 ($80) for a pair, not including shipping which would probably bring them closer to like R1200. Instead I got both for R400, pretty much exactly my size as well.
There has got to be more ways to cook chicken besides grilling and boiling...
baking frying sauteing roasting etc
cathal wtf when did you get gold you bastard [editline]14th July 2015[/editline] oh 5 years 2000 posts nvm
I really have to strap down and get this weight off. I'm hovering around 210 right now and I'm trying to get down to the 170-180 range. Let me get some critique on this: Diet: 1800 calories a day, 113g of Carbs, 70g of fat and 180g of protein. Starting tomorrow I'm going to be lifting five days a week (Monday-Friday) doing a cycle of: Chest/Abs, Back, Shoulders/Abs, Legs, then Arms/Abs and after every workout I'm going to do at least 30 minutes of cardio.
225x3 powerclean today, hype is unreal

6'4 I think I'm at 226(?), still 19y/o. I'm lighter than I've been before but much larger, bodybuilding is weird. [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps2qbhr7r2.jpg[/thumb] huh, guess im glod now
19 years and pumped as fuck [editline]15th July 2015[/editline] I feel bad now at 22 being skinny fuck
This thread makes me feel small. still inspo anyway.
1800 doesn't sound particularly healthy, honestly i mean shit my bmr is like 1700 and i only weigh 160lb
What would be healthier? I was given the advice that your calorie amount when losing weight should be your goal weight with a zero added to it.
What would be healthier? I was given the advice that your calorie amount when losing weight should be your goal weight with a zero added to it.
Depending on your age, height and current weight 1800 calories isn't unreasonable for weight loss. However that specific advice isn't sensible at all. Like if you wanted to only be 160 pounds, then 1600 calorie daily intake over a long period of time might not be healthy. A bigger problem you might have is the five day split. As you're in a calorie deficit and I assume not roiding your body might not like that. At the most do a PPL split
