6'4 I think I'm at 226(?), still 19y/o. I'm lighter than I've been before but much larger, bodybuilding is weird. [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps2qbhr7r2.jpg[/thumb] huh, guess im glod now
Fuck, miringainz, thats like 40lbs more than me, wondering how long it would take me to get there/ if thats even possible. I've already gained 40lb lean mass since I started getting into lifting/fitness like 3 years ago.
This thread makes me feel small. still inspo anyway.
Makes me feel like a large idiot for not been able to keep up with my training for the last 5 years but well depression ain't easy and I should not fully blame myself for something that is hard to control so I should focus on now and the future. One goal I need to fulfill is doing cardio often. My lift stalled and went down from like 90kg 5 reps to like 75 5 reps in DL. However I don't go in a total down mode. We're all gonna make it.
Depending on your age, height and current weight 1800 calories isn't unreasonable for weight loss. However that specific advice isn't sensible at all. Like if you wanted to only be 160 pounds, then 1600 calorie daily intake over a long period of time might not be healthy. A bigger problem you might have is the five day split. As you're in a calorie deficit and I assume not roiding your body might not like that. At the most do a PPL split
I'm 17 years old, 5 feet 8 inches, and 210 pounds. Is there any specific PPL split I should do or just any one in general?
What would be healthier? I was given the advice that your calorie amount when losing weight should be your goal weight with a zero added to it.
that's not a good method, your cut depends more upon what you presently weigh I'd cut somewhere closer to this recalculate every so often cause your recommended intake changes as your weight does. What do you guys think of this weird routine I'm doing right now? Day 1- Compound Day: -DL -Squat -OHP -Bench -Wide Pull-ups. Day 2 - Bro day: -Isolation exercises -Abs and whatever else I feel needs working. Day 3 - rest. Repeat. It seems mickey mouse but I have been seeing some good gains. I developed it because I was hobbled like an old man whenever I did SS or SL for more than a week.

You pretty well have everything going for you genetically till you hit 27-29. The owner of the new gym im going to peaked at 240 @6%BF on stage at 29, and was 265 off the stage. Natural, all hard work. This'll be my third year soon, i started at 175, the first 25 just seemed like growing and everything after that seems like actual muscle. So it could be for you that half of what you gained is growing the other half is muscle. If that guy can hit 265 naturally, I wouldnt doubt you and I wouldnt be able to see another 40lbs.
So learned I was doing a few of my exercises wrong today. On the upside, i was still able to do 3x5-6 but I feel way more tired so I guess that would help explain my tiny gains.

I'm just finding it hard to believe this stuff's possible when the biggest, strongest guys I know are not more than 225 @ 15+%. That being said I'm going to keep trying, I gained 21lb of muscle since this time last year so I guess theres a lot more to go.
So as advised, instead of doing 4 sets of 15,12,10,8 on bench @ 30kg, and having to stop a few times in each set, I did 4 sets of 8 reps. Did it at 40kg. Managed to get through it all, only needed assistance for the last 3 reps on the last set. Hopefully by next week I'll be able to get through it all without any assistance. Also gripping the bar as hard as you can helps so much. Ugh I can see myself toning so much but I can't get rid of my gut and love handles, those fuckers just wont leave. I've been eating between 1300-1500 calories a day for over a year (Mostly, obviously have cheat days), and every time I go gym I do like a 2-2.5km run. So hard to loose the last bit. But my love handles are like super ridiculous. My dad has a big beer belly but no love handles, while I seem to get love handles like women do, all my fat storage seems to go to my hips.
Do you DL before you squat? Man I'm never doing that again
I can barely walk after, but yeah. Its the main reason I have an easier isolation day afterward, as 80% of my body is already killing me (shoulders, back and legs).

So like a starting healthy weight at 6'4 can be 180lbs, everything past the is muscle, everything below is undereating/bad nutrition. The most common advice I get from pros is be consistent, and be determined to succeed

I don't think I could ever do more than three compound exercises in a day. Especially if one of those is a leg exercise.
guys, power cleans after squats or before squats? feel like my hip drive kinda dies after heavy-ass squats but idk
that's not a good method, your cut depends more upon what you presently weigh I'd cut somewhere closer to this recalculate every so often cause your recommended intake changes as your weight does. I've taken a liking to the KS98 program.
guys, power cleans after squats or before squats? feel like my hip drive kinda dies after heavy-ass squats but idk
Depends on your goals and which you would consider to be your main lift of that day, In general priority of lifts goes: Oly lifts> Heavy Compounds (the big 3)> not so heavy compounds (rows and the like)>isolation. You want to be fresh doing the complicated/ heavy ones because theres more chance of injury. I'd do them after squats because right now I'm really trying to improve my squat strength, but you might be better doing them before if you care more about improving your power, and reducing chance of injury.
my squat gains lately have been pretty good so I guess I'll try cleans first maybe alternate or something also squatting heavy as fuk with no safety bars is some scary-ass shit
I've been really struggling with squats for the last 2 weeks but I think a lot of its mental, I just couldnt work up the nerve on max day last week, and then volume day this week went shit because i'd been drinking heavy on the weekend. I took a few days off and came back today but I dont think my form is as good as I thought it was. I'm getting the depth but my knees seem to buckle a lot. I've had to do it twice this summer cause no safety bars in home gym.
That told me 1900 calories and I'd be losing 1.3 pounds a week, is that healthy? so turns out im a goldmember now. where the fuck are my gold member gains
