I think someone posted this here a while ago, it was a soundclip of creepy shit and the sounds the monsters make on Amnesia and they suggested to use it as an alarm clock tone. Well I tried it last night, I was happily dreaming, having a simple conversation with my friend then suddenly their bottom jaw starts ripping from their head, their face becomes distorted and fucked up and the sounds of what I can only describe as someone puking their own lungs up were pounding through my head really loudly. If anyone has trouble getting up in the morning though I recommend it, I was wide awake after that.
I had the most vivid dream last night again, I feel like I'm getting better at this. The dream started with me and my sister using a tiny drill to go through a wall in a convenience store. On the other side we end up in HEAVEN, at least I told myself it was heaven, felt like heaven. Now you may imagine heaven being, to an fp'er, is women and donuts. Well thats wrong, heaven was the suburbs of Dallas at night stretching on forever with some mountains WAAaAAAAAy in the back ground. It was kind of intimidating. Also it was still lit up like it was day when i didn't look up. Well anyways, We break through to heaven with this tiny ass drill and we have a car, just out of no where. We drive down the road and we pass my dead grandma, I got so happy to see her again that we pull over into another convenience store parking lot. We three get out of our cars and we all hug. When all of a sudden my entire family, dead or alive, pulls into this parking lot and we all rejoice. I was so happy I had tears of joy in my eyes and I felt those feeling, really intense. I find out I have a half Mexican brother who is the actual oldest in the family instead of my adopted sister. I ask my dad why and he even told a corny joke like he does irl. He said "Well your mom always got her kicks on route 66 before i meet her." No that makes no sense but it s a joke my dad tells on road trips a lot. Well me and my sister say our good bye and drill our way back through the store wall again just from the outside this time, with the same tiny drill. I wake up in front of some random house which I think, in my dream, must have been my druggy aunts house. So I walk in and a chocolate lab jobs on my and I play with it and I see my aunt sitting on the couch opposite the door. Then I wake up. TL:DR: went to heaven saw my family dead or alive. I also had a major break through before this dream. I don't remember it but something scary was screeching loudly in my face and I yelled out 'Its a dream its a dream' I become lucid enough to remember that this is how to become lucid when I wake up. when I yelled I felt like i was saying it out loud physically in my bed too. Then I don't actually remember waking up but I did have that other dream after it. Maybe I was lucid for the entire heaven dream! It sure was exciting though. Anyways rate agree if you even read this entire thing, it would be nice knowing someone read this since im using this thread as my dream journal.
I try to write down a few dreams every night or so. Most of them end up half-forgotten in the morning, which is kind of exciting. Here's a really strange one (translated from garbled norwegian): "Many costumes. ttt. Me and another guy in some castle with monsters. A last boss, a boy, which we killed with a broom handle." "Playing floorball with a friend. Very, very small courts. My tactic is to lie down on the floor and pretend to be a church." I have a few quite long dreams as well, which are way more detailed. Can't be arsed at this point, really.
Gonna wild now
What is my subconscious In waking life, it is a manifest of all your emotions and thoughts. It is also what does work, skill and keep knowledge. If you wish to refer it as a person, then you are known as the conscious, you're like the Kim Jong Il of your body and the subconscious is north korea, you determine what goes on, what stays secret and what happens. Note that it is influenced by you and it influences your dream.
Waiting on Kim Jong Il to post in this thread.
He would need to black out more of north korea to get enough power to run his computer
Couple nights ago I dreamed I was sliding down my staircase on my stomach and my family was like what are you doing are you 5.
Has anyone ever thought of using mirrors to go to sleep? Last night I had to take a big shit but I kept toilet lights off not to disturb anyone. When I looked at the mirror for a long time, the objects in the reflection disappeared. I'm aware that this a normal thing and that you could just 're-focus' to make the stuff come back, but today I had to take another long shit and I stared at the mirror again, but this was with daylight. Instead, my eyelids felt like they were automatically closing and my vision looked like Photoshop filter abuse. I also got a little sleepy until I 're-focused' my sight. This left me wondering if this trick can be used to put you to sleep. Who wants to be the test subject since it hurts like fuck after trying this?
Sounds like some type of hypnosis, confusing your eyes and brain till you get into some mental state. Not sure, only a theory, but do post the results of this when you've tried it out more
Had a WILD where I visited the city from the movie "City of Ember", it was cool. I appeared at this huge, steampunk restaurant and it eventually became a kung-fu battle with the restaurant's waiters. Very clear and vivid, good quality lucid dream. [editline]16th April 2011[/editline] Oh, and had an awesome dream. Been playing too much Ace of Spades lately. In it, I was together with some chick called Sylvia. The dream revolved about me trying to get her to marry me. First of all, I went to a gambling area and gambled and won several hundred euros. With those, I bought a necklace and a ring. But Sylvia had disappeared. I spent ages searching for her, it was cold and I almost died of it, running around in the snow naked shouting "SYLVIAAAAAAAAAA" before collapsing of hypothermia. Then the filthy green attacked. I defended on the Blue side. Much battle ensued, we were defending a bunch of bunkers but there were way too many Greens. Then I saw Sylvia amongst them as a captive! I became the incarnation of chuck norris and fought my way there, took her on my back and then ran away shooting like mad. Eventually the dream culminated in me proposing to her and then she said yes and told me that this was actually millions of years in the future where proto-terrans had evolved into Blue and Green, and that Blue liked living underwater while Green were more like the industrial kind. Then I woke up with tears of happiness. [editline]16th April 2011[/editline] The thing with the dream was that it was so fucking LONG. Every aspect of it was like a mini-dream in itself. The gambling, the searching, the battle, the resque, the explanation. Not to mention the multiple shit that happened between them. All were the length of your usual dream, combined into one mega-plot-dream
Had a WILD where I visited the city from the movie "City of Ember", it was cool.
I loved that movie.
My Spring Break just started, so I should be able to remember a bunch more dreams with actual sleep this week. No matter how many hours of sleep I get on school nights, I am dead tired upon waking up. I'm fine if I can wake up on my own, but if an alarm goes off, I will die. Anyway, I had an interesting dream last night. It started as I was in my grandparents neighborhood. I was hiding from something across the street from their house. Soon, a car pulled up and some random guy walked out and knocked on their door. Suddenly, everything turned all snowy, and I was somewhere else. I felt extra heavy as I laid behind a bush. I looked down. I was in an army uniform. "What the balls" "SHHH", Someone said Apparently I was in the army. Also, the Beatles were there. Everything went all anti-gravity and shit, and I ended up in NYC as a younger kid. I was hanging out in central park or something, and the thought occurred to me that I had never been in a plane ((at that time)Ever since I had been on a long plane ride a few years ago, I've had all these dreams about planes)) So I somehow got on a plane to somewhere by myself. We took off and I saw the whole city. It was awesome. Not too long into the flight, I fell asleep, but was awoken by a strange feeling. I saw that there was no pilot. With my awesome skills, I took the controls of the plane. It was in a nosedive. I managed to pull up just before it hit the ground. Suddenly, the plane was getting shot at, so I somehow escaped and landed it right next to my house. Interesting dream.
My girlfriend has nightmares every night, where all the dreams are past bad experiences with her stepdad & brother trying to kill her mom recurring (I'm not sure how often because I didn't want to intrude too much...) does anyone know what these type of dreams could mean?
Love dreaming. For some reason I haven't had a remembered dream in a while.
Since this thread is also about sleep I have a few questions for the people here. I am very sensitive to sound when I am about to sleep. Hearing the slightest windblow through a keyhole makes me agitated and anxious. Wearing ear buds that blocks the sound helps a bit, but the pressure they create to my ear is not worth it afterwards. So I was wondering whether some people here on facepunch would have any advice on my problem here, as I focus a lot on the sound I hear before I fall into sleep.
I slept on an air mattress with a blanket that was too small with a ceiling fan turned on, in the cold last night. Any dreams I had were not very memorable. :saddowns:
I sleep in a sleeping bag for absolutely no reason. In the winter it's super warm, in the summer, too warm. Started using the sleeping bag last year when the power went off for 2 days due to a snowstorm.
My girlfriend has nightmares every night, where all the dreams are past bad experiences with her stepdad & brother trying to kill her mom recurring (I'm not sure how often because I didn't want to intrude too much...) does anyone know what these type of dreams could mean?
Unless she's psychic, it's probably stress. Recurring dreams are usually a sign of obsessive thought, fear or stress.
So for anyone keeping a dream journel, how does it help apart from remembering dreams?
I haven't seen nightmares in years and if i do i find em interesting. :6
Had a dream that I couldn't find my girlfriend anywhere. Probably because she's been away for most of the week.
So for anyone keeping a dream journel, how does it help apart from remembering dreams?
It helps induce lucidity if you wake up in the middle of the night from a dream.
Okay. I just pulled an all-nighter what with prom and afterprom. At afterprom they hired a hypnotist to do his mass stage hypnosis. I volunteered, and was completely willing to be hypnotized. During the induction My subconscious was all "LOL NOPE" and I was aware throughout the entire thing. So I completely bullshitted my way through a stage hypnosis session and used it as an excuse to do "fun" things. When we got done I drove up to a parking lot, turned on some coldplay, watched the sun rise, and thought to myself "I fucking love my life". [editline]17th April 2011[/editline] brb, sleeping all day.

About two weeks ago i had a dream about a girl i used to know (desceased now) and we where walking around my town and chatting about old times. And was nice, reminiscing about school and such. The next day i had a similar dream, the same actually. We talked about the same topic. After about four days of having these dreams it gets a little wierd. When i was walking diwn to the food mart to pick up some milk i had the feeling she was with me, but she wasnt. I always have this feeling that im not alone. It feels like she is always near me. Throughout all this time i still was having the dream (on and off) Last monday on my way to work, i could have sworn i saw her as i drove by. I thought i was just seeing things, mind playing tricks on me.I now know that wasnt the case That monday night, i had that dream accept she stopped responding to me, i kept trying to get her attention but no luck. Finally, she said "meet me on the other side" i woke up gasping for breath. Wednsday while drivingl to a mates house i was jamming along to some tunes when i heard a honk behind me, so i looked through my rear view mirror and she was staring at me. I skidded out into a driveway almost wrecking some blokes mailbox, i shook my head and rubbed my eyes (now in tears of frustration) after a second or two i loojed back in my mirror and she was still there, i turned around and nothing, no one. Only in my mirror. I started yelling at her but she had no response just those eyes. Staring at me. I sped home without looking in my mirror once. I try not to go outside much now, i suppose by now im fired from my job, i tell my friends and family im on vacation, they dont need to know about this. I doubt she wants them to know. I kniw im not currently in a dream , i have just done five reality checks and im using a functional computer. I cant help the feeling that this isnt real though. I wish it wasnt real, just a bad dream perhaps. She hasnt visited me since.
I already read this. I think you need to try and communicate to her if it's possible. Look at a mirror she if she's behind you(probably unlikely). If she is, don't look back, just talk. If the mirror doesn't work, try other things. As long as you can keep her within sight for about more than 10 seconds, do that. [editline]17th April 2011[/editline] I'm no psychologist but I think that may help.
i'm trying to avoid mirrors at all cost, i don't like seeing her. it's creepy, i'm currently camping out in my room with my fridge dragged in here. my laptop ran out of battery yesterday so i had to run out for a charger, i searched with my eyes closed for a good hour, so i couldn't see her. but i had that feeling that someone was next to me. i have emence amounts of food in my fridge and am making use of my microwave (also brought in my room), i like it in here, its safe. i have no need to go outside. i'm happy in here :]
dude Face your fears man. Sure it might be scary shit, but some people got rid their scary shit by thinking positive at those times like by hugging or by kissing or something(she's a hallucination so that might not help). She is completely fictional and you need to man up to this. Get her to appear and make sure she doesn't appear anymore. Challenge your own mind. Kill it from within. Make sure you do this before you run out of food because if you're about to then I would think you need to call a gypsy.
i went out, into my house. i looked in a mirror after a couple minutes of searching around with my eyes closed (for the bathroom) results: she was in every mirror. i yelled at her "i'm not afraid of you" she had no reply after about ten seconds of my staring her face started to morph to what i can most easily describe with this http://img34.imageshack.us/content_round.php?page=done&l=img34/5198/herj.png&via=mupload her sweet blue eyes turned black, mouth gone, pale. i ran back here to my room with my eyes closed and on the way hit a wall and im now bleeding a bit from the head. atleast im safe.
i don't want to spam fp so i have made this thread- http://www.uncommonforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=635039#635039 i tried to make a fp thread to ask for help but got banned for missing the dreams megathread
just post it in here instead of linking us to another forum [editline]17th April 2011[/editline] but yeah basically when you're in a dream next hug her, it'll turn her in to something nice hugging doesn't always turn things in to positive things forever though, so keep doing it
Will there be a thread specifically for wet dreams?
Nope, this is the thread for every dream.
Welp, good morning at 2PM. Had a mini-lucid. Woke up. Fuck that shit Im going back to sleep.
Please, when you wake up again, do elaborate on the "fun" things you did :v:
Grabbing hot girl and pulling her up to the stage to dance Introducing myself as "James Bawnd" Staggering around like a pirate with a bottle o rum and a peg leg While everyone was hypnotized into thinking they were pirates I yelled "ABANDON SHIP" and they all dove to the ground/off the stage. We were pretending to be forest animals, when a chick tiger growled at me, I turned around and went all BEEEEAAARRRR ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRR. the hypnotist pulled me up and told me I was crocodile dundee and that the audience was all koala bears. In frost of at least 5 cameras recording I told everyone that Koala bears were fuckin mean, some dude was a serial killer and an animal he pointed to was a deer that impaled people on its antlers. I guess Im good at pretending to be a mindless zombie
