Oh god thats gold
I had a dream that seemed a bit too real and I couldn't do an RC no matter how hard I tried, which has only happened to me once before, and for me it means it's not a dream, it's a memory. I had to confirm it to make sure, but unfortunately I was able to confirm that my memory did, in fact, happen. It appears I drunkenly fucked a friend, which isn't great because she has a boyfriend. Who is larger than me. With muscles.
If he decides to go after you, I got an idea. Get some people from this thread together, invade his dreams and give him the idea to not to beat you up.
Good for you, Zin. In part of my dream, I was walking home from my school in my dream world. Stuff happened, surprisingly, nothing out of the ordinary. Very pleasant. The next dream? Not so much. I was in (on?) a Minecraft server, it had some things that were not minecraft-y. There was a high pressure steam pipe through the floor, some Lion-People demon things, some other players, and Lorne from Angel (an interesting TV show). The players left, and the lion things started coming in and acting tough. They started making bets for some reason, about how many seconds they could last. Wondering what they were doing, I kept watching. They ripped open the steam tube, burning of all of their skin. They then put pure alcohol on themselves. At this point, I ran down to the lower floor. Everything was green, like there were emeralds. Also, there was lava everywhere. This made is difficult to get through this passage way. I tried anyways, because there was a chest at the end. I fell in the lava after a while, and died, instantly spawning back on the first floor. They started to approach me, and turn me into paint (by crushing me up). I saw Lorne, who is green, and told them that he'd make cooler paint. They tore him open and made paint out of him. [editline]2nd May 2011[/editline] This is a warning; don't sleep with too many blankets.
Just an observation I've noticed. There are 2 types of lucid dreamers. The logical, and the Freeform. Logical dreamers usually dream about real events, such as school, parties, sex, etc. The point being that their dreams are usually logical in form. Now freeformers, such as myself, may have a more creative mind, as their dreams are sporadic, usually pertaining to unreal objects or places. They usually don't follow a logical format, leading to dreams such as Kung Fu fights or cartoons. However, unlike the stability a logical dreamer has, Freeform dreamers have short/medium length dreams, filling in the gaps with totally new dreams. What do you guys think, am I somewhere in the ballpark?

My dreams can go from being about playing a video game where I'm hugging a giddy chihuahua, to me being a skateboard that goes on water. [editline]2nd May 2011[/editline] Also, does anybody else have a "Dream World" like me? By this I mean recurring real-life (but not necessarily accurate) and made up locations that seem to be linked together, like an altered Earth.

What do you guys think, am I somewhere in the ballpark?
Sort of. You were kind of right until the end. you can't divide the two because they're both related. Real life scenario dreams are almost always born of at least one of three things:

Stress
Memories
Illness
That doesn't mean "logical dreamers", as you call it, can't have dreams about random nonsense, and neither is the reverse true. 99% of the time, the content of a dream will be entirely dependent upon the contents of the MIND. (The 1% accounts for weird situations, and very rarely happen). of course, even THEN it's hard to determine the meaning of a dream, and surprisingly the "type" of dream it is doesn't make it easier. For example, a dream where you lose all of your teeth (common) could mean the exact same thing as a dream where you accidentally get pulled over by a space cop because you were driving your giraffe-rocket too fast (not common). It's difficult to tell. As for the "filling in the gaps" bit, that's debatable as well. Generally there aren't really any gaps to fill, anything you think is a gap is usually the space between REM cycles in which you don't dream anyway. There ARE techniques to extend your dreams through this null space, but it's obnoxiously difficult and most people can't do it. tl;dr: Logical dreams and freeform dreams are one in the same, dream content = mind content [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline]
Also, does anybody else have a "Dream World" like me? By this I mean recurring real-life (but not necessarily accurate) and made up locations that seem to be linked together, like an altered Earth.
I've had two or three over the course of my life, which I've heard is unusual. Usually people just have one, but I don't know how accurate that is. Every time I have a new one, it's because a major change happened in my life. Don't know how it happens, but it does. Oh well.
Also, does anybody else have a "Dream World" like me? By this I mean recurring real-life (but not necessarily accurate) and made up locations that seem to be linked together, like an altered Earth.
I've had dream places if that counts. One of them was a town square sort of place, and it was night time all the time there. I called it the vanitas district. The other was a large hilly graveyard with smooth, lush green grass. Right now, none.

They are usually completely different and share no traits with the real place, yet I can recognize them as the place I know. [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] The funnest is the dream version of Salt Lake City [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] So many recurring dreams of that damn campground...
Agh, I haven't had the proper time to attempt WILD recently, and I haven't had another lucid after my first one. :<
Agh, I haven't had the proper time to attempt WILD recently, and I haven't had another lucid after my first one. :<
A WILD doesn't take more time than falling asleep normally if you're doing it right.
It seems that I have made a mistake. My anti-self was only in waiting, preparing to strike. Obvious in hindsight. It now presents it's challenge. It's purpose, to send be back to the way I was. To deepen my unease it has taken the name "Mephistopheles" From the Faust tale. I hope that the feelings of the underestimation of an anti-self changes. They will be different, but they cannot be simply told to go away, they hold the purpose of torturing, ruining you. I hope Zin could back me up on that. And I'm also not A high and mighty person, I have no Idea why I write this way.
Welp, that crazy-ass haunted cruise liner has re-appeared into my dreams. This time, I'm gonna find out what's in the bottom of that thing if it kills me.

Course I thought up the final colossus from sotc, but it can be anything really.
confessional time: I haven't dreamed since my last post. (about a week or two?) What do.
Think up some armor and companions. I find that makes the going much easier. Last night was the longest dream I've had in a while. Yay. Other than the fact that I panicked like shit when I woke up because one of my teeth was loose in the dream.
Last time I was on the ship, it was me and 2 IRL friends. One of them I know to be a natural lucid dreamer. If I wanted to keep this realistic (without going HERP DERP TANKS AND MASTER CHIEF), I would have K manifest as him, so he could bend the dream like me without destroying the continuity. However, I didn't remember any dreams last night. sfdsfdsfdsfdsfdfsfdsfdsfds. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] And that probably wouldn't work anyways since K has pretty much made the ship his base of operations.

You even tried to convince us of its malevolence. This is the price you pay for lurking under that very dark thought.
I just told him I wanted to be on the ship. He told me "Nope, my domain" [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] automerge, hahahahahhahahha
With that out of the way. Two nightmares in a row last weekend. They weren't re-occurring, but, they were both similar. In both, I was with a band of people, defending our place, for the first dream, I didn't do anything defending if I recall while in the second, I had a huge ass cannon. I was told some demon ladies were going to attack, so I decided to talk my way out of it. I ended up playing dead, and escaped the dream. In the second, I saw Cloud (from final fantasy 7) summon a great pink glowing creature that emitted some kind of screeching noise, couldn't tell what it looked like since it was a blur. I summoned a cannon and went with a guy to get to the bunker entrance. I fired a few rounds at it, as well as my mate. It didn't look like anything was happening to it. As it got closer, we closed the metal door of the bunker and put a distance between us and the door. I was anticipating for it to break the door open, so I took a few shots at it. Good thing I was woken up by my dad's alarm clock before shit could go down.
Actually you just can't remember jack shit. Improve recall via recall improve methods eg bananas, mantra
Not to boast but my recall is great. That sexual dream I posted happened over a few months ago and in between I can remember some dreams about scuba diving mostly. It might be that I get on average 6 hours of sleep and I also take a long time to settle into my bed.
Not to boast but my recall is great. That sexual dream I posted happened over a few months ago and in between I can remember some dreams about scuba diving mostly.
Thats 'cause those dreams were interesting and memorable. What you need is cinnamon.
Make your own domain and make sure it is far more superior.
I lack the dream reality bending skills to build something superior to that ship.
You have not seen this particular god damn creepy haunted ship.
Thats 'cause those dreams were interesting and memorable. What you need is cinnamon.
Elaborate.
Elaborate.
What he's talking about is a weird method to make your dreams more memorable, but that's not what you need. You're probably like most people, you get your recall to a certain point and then don't really work on it anymore. That's not smart, and not what you need to do. You need to work on your recall more, and you'll start remembering more dreams. Keep a dream journal if you haven't already. You dream every single night, and if you don't remember them it doesn't mean you're not dreaming it means your recall isn't as great as it could be.

Which is why I'm distraught. So yes, in terms of dream recall I got my shit together.

You will NEVER hit a point where your dream recall doesn't need improvement. Hell, I've written down every dream I've ever had for the last four years (I have a box full of dream journals in my basement) and I'm still not comfortable with my level.
I haven't had/recalled a dream in probably over two months now. Whenever I recall them they involve me getting stabbed or shot. Is there something wrong with me?
Last night I woke up on a giant pizza. Nuff said.
Last night I woke up on a giant pizza. Nuff said.
I dream of having such a dream.
