Usually when I'm fatigued I'm pretty relaxed and can get to sleep fine. It's just that I can't really help having these nightmares since I notice they seem to derive from a certain event that happened to me a month ago.
It's not getting to sleep that's the problem it's how you feel when you do get to sleep.
But your nightmares are rooted to a past experience you had, and sadly, you have little control over the nightmares seeing as your brain is trying to make you recover from the experience.
The psychologist move was the way to go
Sorry

I would still recommend meditation though :
Meditation is for relaxation. NOT only for your dreams. Learn to meditate to relax and relieve stress before associating it with dreams.
It will also in turn stop the association your dreams would want to have with what's bothering you.
Anyone have some good methods of preventing nightmares? I have quite poor control over my dreams and after playing Nightmare House 2 yesterday (And still being unable to keep it out of my head), I'm a little worried that Emily will start popping up and making some really creepy shit happen. :ohdear:
Accidentaly rated disagree instead of funny, sorry.
You do know you can re-rate a post, right?
Oh hey, new thread. :buddy:
My dream last night was pretty weird. I was on the ground. Then I was in space in a space suit. Then I was in a space mall and said, "Japan looks nice" and woke up.
I had a dream that i was chased by the police and when they caught me i noticed some people were doing crazy shit on top of the "Public Storage" behind my house, so i told the cop, why are you messing with me look at them one of them jumped off the roof and i had this weird zoom-vision stuff going on.
I remember getting into a fight with somebody i know and head butting them so hard they were almost blacking out (i was friends with them) and so i was concerned about their health, hoping i didn't brain damage them or something lol.
Sometimes people wake me up by yelling at me in my apartment when they get back *AHEM*, so in my dream i heard the yelling of that particular person inside of the dream and instinctively woke up to see what they wanted. They weren't even home :v:
Lots of other stuff happened but almost none of it made any sense at all, fun
Also we need more links to Jake's stories in the OP

I'm writing a brand new OP right now. This can stay up until I finish it, then I'll have someone close it and I'll remake it.

Would have done it earlier but my internet wasn't...on.

If you have a chance to go lucid, do so and reflect positive energy towards it.
Go on, give that 10 story demon covered in pentagrams a hug.
[editline]27th March 2011[/editline]
Oh wait thats my dream
[editline]27th March 2011[/editline]
I didnt need to hug it; I blitzed it and shot it in the lower jaw up into the brain with a holy crossbow.
Thats another idea: turn that fucker into an action movie-ish awesome dream.
Shit I can't get it to work, how long does it take to master it?
Shit I can't get it to work, how long does it take to master it?
Master it? Years. Get consistently good at it? Months, still probably years.
I saw my reflection in a dream and it was nothing; I could see my neck, shoulders, etc. but not my head. it was pitch black.
Why? :saddowns:
Master it? Years. Get consistently good at it? Months, still probably years.
Do you actually manage to lucid dream alot? I lucid dreamed only twice in my life
Yay new thread.
Hey oblivious, maybe you should add a section to the OP as a list to tell which people are trustworthy and which people are idiots/trolls/mentally ill baby-men.
I honestly don't care which list I'm on.
I'm sure you will.
Until then, this thread stays.
You need a hobby. Doodling is pretty easy and fun. It's also a good escape from life, or at least has 500+ more hours of distraction than call of duty.
Is that a dream sign or something
I'll be honest, I've always had an interest in lucid dreaming but I was ultimately scared of losing control and all shit breaking loose.
And then I watched inception, I have a totem now and it actually shows in a dream. I was only lucid for about 30 minutes. (Crazy inception time bullshit here)
Is that a dream sign or something
He was talking about a hobby.
How the hell did you get dream symbols from that?

I like them.
Call me crazy.
That new OP smell
Yay new thread, I'm taking a massive break from this stuff though without letting my dream recall go downhill.
I really want to try this out, but I have a few questions to all this.
How long does it take before you're able to achieve lucid dreaming?
Do you need to continously follow these steps like MILD and WILD?
Will this affect my sleeping cycle? If so, how?
This is super interesting and I am going begin with the MILD method today.
Really hope I can experience this
[editline]28th March 2011[/editline]
Some of the questions were already answered, just ignore them.
Do you actually manage to lucid dream alot? I lucid dreamed only twice in my life
I used to count, then I lost track. If I had to guess, I've probably had...1100 or so? Dunno the exact number. Somewhere between 1100 and 1300.

You can achieve it theoretically instantly, the problem is it's just really hard to do consistently (and correctly)
Those are the BEST ways, yeah. Doesn't mean it's the only way, and certain people have developed their own personal ways to do it that aren't popular AT ALL, but mostly following MILD and WILD and any other ones in the OP (and if there aren't any it's because Oblivious is a dick and stole my OP which I stole from Jake).
It shouldn't affect your sleeping cycle, really. It doesn't really cut into sleeping time and shouldn't do much. If anything it should make your cycle better and healthier for you.
Zin.
On the subject of OP's
Move your shit.
I ate a pack of albacore tuna before bed, and had 4 dreams!
First Dream:
I'm in what I assume is a house or a laboratory. The floor is covered in giant metal domes. Me, one of my friends, a scientist, a strange goat, and possibly one other person are standing on one. The goat has a brown face, underside, and legs, and a white back and white ears shaped like ram horns. Me friend says watch this, and lifts up one of the floppy ears. Underneath were wiggling teeth, not actually connected to a mouth. The scientist mumbled something about a new era, and began feeding the goat colored pellets. Each pellet changed the goat's color, until it just started rapidly and randomly switching colors.
Second Dream:
I'm a girl, pretty much everything besides me is coated in the black fog. I'm just sitting there, staring at and fondling my new kibble-and-bits. I'm then out at a small town in a forest, with some other girls (at this point, I don't think I'm a girl anymore) and my cousin. We're standing there, and one of the girls look at my cousin, looks him over, says hello, and kisses him. After that, I whisper to him "Yeah, she's a slut." and he gives me a funny look.
Third Dream:
I'm in my house when 30 Mexicans come through the door and start yelling at me about how my house sucks. Coincidentally, these are all people I was in a class with last year.
Fourth Dream:
I had to do some research in China or something, so I landed a plane in a rice paddy. I walked around for a while and went back to my plane because I was ready to go home. When I got to my plane, some people there told me I couldn't leave because there wasn't a runway to take off from. I started to yell "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" and woke up.
Edit:
Just ate some tuna, did a little meditation, and took a nap. I feel rested, but no dreams is a bit of a downer.
Is it still considered hate if I sign myself up as an idiotic troll?
I met a black man when I was astral projecting last night who asked me if it's still considered racism if he's racist to another black.
I had one dream in which me and several of my friends walked to this supposedly abandoned fast food restaurant. However the lights were on but there was plywood with graffiti on a few of the windows. When we entered some people in uniforms that worked there I assume walked out of this steel door and said "You should come with us." What comes next is fuzzy but I think they walked us through some base of some sort. Then we all get in a cart kind of like a bobsled and we just really fast through a bunch of tunnels. Then the dream restarted and thats it. This was last Thursday I believe.

Goddamnit ostegolation we've been through this many times.
Astral projection doesn't exist. The black guy was a dream character.

Wasn't that incredibly obvious that he's trolling? Seriously.
I have been trying to get lucid in my dreams for about a week now. I have been doing WILD every night and still no luck. I set my alarm about 4 hours after I would be asleep, once I am woke up by it I lay on my back and close my eyes and just relax and count. I don't seem to see shapes or hear anything.
Any tips?
One night, I thought I'd see why the My Little Pony thread was so popular, and decided to watch a few episodes. That night, I went lucid. Since then, I have not seen another episode nor gone lucid. Co-incidence?

Because I was talking about a romance-related dream and he jumped in to a completely different subject.
Because I was talking about a romance-related dream and he jumped in to a completely different subject.
It wasn't just romance. You had that dream because you envy relationship and wish not to be lonely or isolated.
It's good to have a hobby for these kinds of problems.

Hate can be reasonless. A greater figure can convince a group to hate someone with little to no reason needed.
I don't want anyone to be hating anyone, if even it's someone I dislike mildly.
