I just discovered something that I thought would be easy but turned out to be damn near impossible. Coordinated world changes to match physical movements. Context: I had a dream I was an alchemist like in FMA because I like those dreams, they're awesome. Anyway, so I was running somewhere for some reason and decided I wanted to run faster. Naturally, that would mean manipulating the terrain to speed me up. So I tried a couple different methods, and somehow almost none of them worked. First I tried to like create pillars beneath my feet every time I ran in hopes that it would give me like a big speed boost, but that failed almost immediately, my brain couldn't keep up with the physics of my body. Then I tried something else, like creating a small land wave behind me that I could use to propel myself forward, but for some reason my brain was like LOL NOPE. The one I managed to get to work ended up with me looking like a retarded swimmer. I just flailed my arms around and somehow the ground knew what I meant. perhaps I was too tired to LD properly, or perhaps this is a new thing I haven't tried before. Either way, this requires experiments. I also had a dream that I was like in a big castle and there was one of those puzzles where I had to sneak past guards and stuff and when one of them caught me I grabbed him by the ankle and smashed him into a wall until he died. Then I tried to collect his stuff and open an inventory menu to put them on but it didn't pause reality so I just used them to throw at other guards. I died.

Once I wanted to fly in a dream and jumped off a roof, thinking I'd fly. I hit the street harder than a cinder block and my legs went off. It was painful.
Never. If possible, you should stay in control in dreams like mine. They about always involve blood, violence, torture and war. So uh, not being in control might be a bad thing.
What the hell is it with you and blood? Nevermind. Anyways, back from my trip, here is my best dream of the week: The dream started with either the explorer or the cheyanne. I was nearly done with a huge project. There was a toybox that looked like a KFC box that was full of imaginary characters of mine. I was going to sell them. I packed up the box and went through a door, suddenly I was in my school's gym. There was a sort of obstacle course. I set the box down and began the course. I looked behind and the characters were following me. As I ran through the course faster and faster, there were sort of zebra stripes on the floor, that when I looked at them, they gave me a massive boost of confidence the faster I went. It was amazing. Soon I was sprinting and parcouring through the twisted world of a course with unlimited stamina. It was a great feeling. I never got tired. I got to the top of the course and K was there in a tuxedo, still building parts of the course out of huge sheets of black material. The top was lit by torches. I congratulated K on a skilfully crafted dream, and we had a discussion, mostly small talk. The conversation ended with me saying "Too bad we cant find a way to share memories." He responded with a grunt. There was someone else there the whole time, mainly standing in the shadows or looking over the edge. The dream was very vivid and I'm not even sure if I stabilized, even though I knew it was a dream. There was no transition between the course and going lucid. [editline]28th May 2011[/editline] Also, my ears were ringing pretty damn bad from shooting too many hanguns when I went to sleep. I tried WILD and focused on the ringing, and ended up getting all sorts of.... unique sound hallucinations.

I was dreaming I was in the sky temple from Twilight Princess and I was going to fly over a gorge so I picked up one of those bird things. And when I jumped, I let go of it. I woke up after falling for a bit. Showed that temple who's boss though just a few minutes ago. :smug:
I fucking hate when you're about to fall asleep and your brain decides to give you a seizure and you flail all your limbs as if the end of the world is coming and then you realize how stupid your brain is
Never. If possible, you should stay in control in dreams like mine. They about always involve blood, violence, torture and war. So uh, not being in control might be a bad thing.
I've had a lot like this recently. Although I keep dreaming I'm minutes from impending, inescapable death and have to accept it. Sucks not being in control of dreams like those.
What the hell is it with you and blood?
I usually link danger and blood together since most of the time in real life if I see blood it's in a dangerous situation. For the opponent, I mean. Getting your teeth punched out by a white knuckle isn't the best feeling in the world.
I've had a lot like this recently. Although I keep dreaming I'm minutes from impending, inescapable death and have to accept it. Sucks not being in control of dreams like those.
Hence why being in control during such dreams would be good. Last time I had to fight any kinds of opponents in a dream or something seemingly unstoppable came along, I just summoned Waltz and stopped it with him.
My brain has to be fucking with me if I haven't had a lucid dream for so long with an attempt almost every night.
Welcome to my world. You'll eventually start dreaming about becoming lucid and gets even more frustrating!
Welcome to my world. You'll eventually start dreaming about becoming lucid and gets even more frustrating!
I was about to post about a similar problem of mine. A common dream sign of mine is that I frequently talk to my dream characters about lucid dreaming and how to do it which as you can imagine is something you wake up and think about and get frustrated. You'd think that talking about lucid dreaming would be the best possible dream sign but it hasn't helped so I feel like a dumbass for having to ask this now; how can I turn that into a lucid trigger? The first thing on my LD agenda is to ask my sub for help getting more lucid dreams which should make everything else easier. The second thing is to interact with it (talking to it and whatnot).
I don't usually dream, but last night I had a dream that this very disturbing person who acts as if he was gay for me had boobs. I'm questioning my mental stability. :colbert:

Part of controlling your dreams is knowing that there is no reason in fear, that everything will be the way you want.
I lost count on how many times I got sleep paralysis last night. The bad kind, not the "easily into lucid" kind. Thankfully I could snap out of it easily by changing my breathing speed. It's creepy as fuck, you can't move your body and you start hearing whispers and people talking all around you and it just gets louder and louder, a couple of times something flashed in my face, didn't look in detail but it was probably something that would have made me lose sleep for the next week or so. [editline]29th May 2011[/editline] At one time when I woke up I wasn't sure if it was dream or reality even after doing reality checks thanks to the paralysis before that, my entire back was goosebumps which is how it sometimes feels in a dream (like electricity going up my back causing goosebumps), but now the creepiness of the multiple paralysises caused them, but I was too tired to realize that so I sat on my bed for like 5 minutes doing reality checks in the middle of the night
I can't tell if my SP experiences are in dreams or for real anymore.
I can't tell if my SP experiences are in dreams or for real anymore.
Last time I WILD'ed, I didn't quite hit SP, but due to my ears ringing, the sound morphed into a bunch of computer noises, then turned into someone screaming and then some thick splashing sounds and heavy breathing in my ear. Speaking of which, I think Im gonna ask me sub to keep conditioning me with scary shit and eventually build up to my greatest fear.
I ain't attempting WILD though. I'm either dreaming about waking up in SP or actually experiencing it. It usually only lasts for about 10 seconds anyway without any noises or anything so it's all cool
Methinks i just experienced REM, it felt like all the facial mucles around my eyes were randomly twitching, is that REM? Additionally, while thinking "good goes in, bad goes out" I could feel a tingling pressure on my forehead, WUT?

That sounds fucking terrifying, it's like my worst nightmare. Since "the only thing to fear is fear itself" and my brain controls fear, I know my brain could torture me if it really felt like it. Like when I take extra adderall and then I stay up late at night, sometimes I start to hallucinate in the corners of my eyes and it's incredibly scary.
You sound really, really messed up. Optimism helps in dreams you know. Part of controlling your dreams is knowing that there is no reason in fear, that everything will be the way you want.
Funny how things like flying are impossible to me but swinging around a massive hunk of steel and turning masses of people into bloody mush doesn't cause any complications. Maybe it's because flying would be OP. I treat dreams like a game, you know. If I can better every single projection in melee, then they start using artillery. If I can destroy the artillery, they use mines. It's always trying to counter the other.
I had a weird but somewhat-mundane dream (at least in comparison with some of my other dreams). Basically, I was just following some girl around. I don't know who she was or anything about her really. She just stood out of the crowd because she had bright-red hair. So this carried on for some unspecified amount of time until she stops moving, but I keep following; so the distance is closed. She turns around, stabs me in the gut, then continues walking. I keep following her, blood gushing out of me and losing stability in my balance. Eventually she stops again and, once again, I keep following; closing the distance between us. Once I get close enough, she turns around and punches me in the face. I woke up falling off the side of my bed right then. Why the hell did I dream about getting the shit beaten out of me by some redhead I don't know?

Common with lucid dreamers (like me for example now) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis [editline]29th May 2011[/editline] And yeah it can be scary as hell, one time my closet door opened and a creepy ghost girl rushed at me screaming, almost pissed my pants because it felt so realistic.
Ah, I've never had a lucid dream so at least I don't have to worry about that.

Hey man most redheads are hot.

It felt 100% like real life but there was a major nagging feeling that it was a dream, especially that goosebumps/electricity part running on my back that has often happened in the past when getting a false awakening. Really creepy to think that it might have been a dream, it felt so realistic that I could swear I simply woke up after sleep paralysis, but what if it was an incredibly vivid false awakening? Ugh. I'll never know.
I've got a question. Everyone says "don't ask your sub what your biggest fear is", but what's the problem with asking it to describe the fear to you? It would be nice at least knowing what it is, but not having to actually experience it.

Got any tips for WILD or FILD, I just can't seem to get the hang of it.
