I think my subconscious is preventing me from lucid dreaming because of me massively wanting to sleep into oblivion recently. Or just go to a different universe in general.
I had a shitty dream tonight :C All it was was 10+ minutes of "You're a great dreamer!" in green text, a cursive font, slapped on a white background.
Why does everyone's subconcious seem to go from COOL AND MYSTERIOUS~ to GIANT DOUCHEBAG?
I've been having cool but barely vivid dreams. I need to have more lucid dreams.
Why does everyone's subconcious seem to go from COOL AND MYSTERIOUS~ to GIANT DOUCHEBAG?
More like bro troll
I think I'm going to take a break from LDing for a while. It's lost the appeal it used to have.

I've only had one so far since I found out about them and even then it was ages ago. It was literally the same night I read about what they were and then I went to sleep thinking how cool it would be to have one and then I was fighting crime with a jetpack and a roket launcher...but now that I've started thinking about how to get them I just can't seem to. I must have been millimetres from getting one the other night but my brain trolled me after I read about dream signs like looking at your hands and the sky cause they both looked perfectly normal until I saw the moon was insanely close but for some reason that registered as relatively normal :ninja:

It's an important experience, learning about it yourself. I've had...about 2,200 lucid dreams in my life so far, they're starting to get boring. Last night I built the universe from scratch and then laid on a patch of beach in deep space and watched the universe end, and it was kind of...lackluster, I guess. It was cool, but not special. I probably just need to take a break. I doubt the magic is completely gone, but it's boring at the moment.
I got lucid tonight, but it only lasted like 15 seconds before I got distracted by some mini-jet-engine-fan with a remote control ಠ_ಠ seriously wtf. Any tips for staying focused?

Managed to retain just about every dream I'm guessing I had last night. (5!) First: I was in my cousin's room, he was bugging me to play minecraft with him. The room was mostly set up like his room is, but it felt more like my room. Strange. Second: (A long one. It's more of a movie that played out in my dream) Three astronaut have touched down on Mars. There's an atmoshpere here. The set up a cool auto-building space house thing. The roof is all solar panels. The main character's brother was the first man to walk on Mars. He decided he was a Martian now, and cut off contact with Earth. The next three came to figure out what happened. (The main character and two other scientists) They saw a cave, and decided to explore. The traveled through it, although there was some strange altered gravity thing going on. The gravity in the cave went back to the entrance, so they were essentially climbing. There was water running through the cave, making all the rock moist. On the most rock was algae, lush and green, and probably the source of the atmosphere (There would need to be a lot more IRL.). One of the crew was a bird for a few minutes. Once they got out of the cave, they were in a forest. It was a huge forest, with hella tall redwoods and stuff. They were in a small ditch were the stream was flowing. As they walked out of the ditch, one of the crew called the main character by name; Labrador. They walked over to a small structure, similar in style to the space home. They pressed a button, and a tall research station/space home unfolded, with the main character's brother at rest on the top floor. Third dream: I was in a gymnasium, as part of a class. We were learning how to use the force (hell yeah). After messing around a bit and flying, some party-killer Steam-punk British guys, dressed in green, ornate clothes, who couldn't use the force, came in and started testing out anti-force lights on us. While bathed in the light, we couldn't fly or anything. Fourth Dream: I was on a floating island, on which was a town, including my own home. Out of nowhere, a giant walking fortress thing landed on the island. It was green and gold, projecting light down over the town. Obviously, it was those British assholes. I flew over. I don't remember what happened next. Probably ass-kicking. Fifth dream: I was in a another class, in a gymnasium, but not learing about the force or anything. The teacher was talking, then suddenly switched to sex ed. (I have no idea why) Then another teacher interuppted her and started listing off names of people who were expelled from the class. I was part of the list (pretty much everyone was) so I walked out. As I was walking along, some sort of riot started, and I could see the ending of the first dream in the distance, but I didn't think anything of it. Although I didn't have anything relating to the force in this dream, I still had the ability to use it.
Experience over time.
What's the best time to sleep and get a dream using the wild method? I want to force lucid dreams from the start, because I never dream unless if something was on my mind the entire day.
What's the best time to sleep and get a dream using the wild method? Also, your avatar is a penis. I am offend
Uh, when did Dreamviews go down? I only ask because I might be losing internet for a couple weeks, and I'm attempting to stockpile all available information right now.
I had a dream a few days ago where I showed up to school dressed up in a furry fox costume and every one chased after me with pitchforks and torches.... T'was fun.

You can WILD whenever you fall asleep, there's no way to make it happen. Also, you dream every night, you probably don't remember. If you only remember dreams that relate to things that happened to you that day or things that were on your mind all day, all that means is you were really stressed about whatever it was and your brain was like HEY THIS IS IMPORTANT. I'll give the same advice I give everyone. Work on recall first before you attempt to go lucid. At LEAST a month's worth of constantly keeping a journal, and don't stop ever, even if you think your recall is A+. Hell, I STILL keep a journal, and at this point I can fill like 20 pages with one dream. Even then, I still learn more and get better at my recall. Once your recall is getting better, THEN start to try to go lucid. Not much of a point in going lucid if you'll completely forget it even happened, now is there? [editline]14th June 2011[/editline] Also yes, Orkel is right. There are NO shortcuts to this, it just takes time and patience. Also mental stamina, but not as much as the other two.
Whilst going about my wild sexual escapades I decided to fly, so I did. Only for a little bit to get up higher, was more like a jump and my body felt completely numb for a minute. A fairy also drank my pink cum.

Last dream I had I were going to the bathroom, but there was a bunch of birds in the shower watching me, so I chased them out but they started knocking on the doors.. It was really disturbing. And one before that a witch chased me on a tricycle I had when I was a child which grew out of a man-eating plant in the dream.. The scariest nightmare I've had was when some cows from space attempted to take over the planet, and I killed them with a chopper when trying to escape. Seriously, it was really scary inside the dream.
...son of a bitch. I say I won't LD much anymore, and my sub responds by giving me an incredibly graphic incest dream. I was punished by my own mind. ;-;
Not down for me.
hmmm, Must have been just for a little while then.
Only got 5 hours of sleep last night; not sure if I even got to dreaming. :saddowns:

A few months ago I saw a dream, there was some old wise big-bearded guy who said "Only in death shall you find ultimate wisdom" Not sure why. Maybe I heard that phrase somewhere and it got embedded into my subconscious? Or maybe my mind came up with it randomly.
Kill yourself to find out! :v:

going to try "get lucid get lucid get lucid" tonight first time in this thread, if something goes tits up and I'm about to get eaten or raped in my dream or something, how can I snap out of it? and will I notice anything when I wake up? I don't want to be in a shit mood in the morning
going to try "get lucid get lucid get lucid" tonight first time in this thread, if something goes tits up and I'm about to get eaten or raped in my dream or something, how can I snap out of it? and will I notice anything when I wake up? I don't want to be in a shit mood in the morning
It'll only "go tits up" if you think it will. It's all in your miiinndd. There are different ways to wake up. If you're in sleep paralysis (before or after a lucid), change your breathing pattern (faster helps) and you'll snap out of it. If your lucid for some reason turns into a nightmare mid-dream, just close your eyes and think about lying in your bed. And when you do wake up, do a reality check to make sure it's not a false awakening.. just did one myself while writing this just to be sure. Just remember that none of it is real. Think happy thoughts. Happy trees. Happy little bunnies and clouds. What you think of, will appear. That applies to bad shit as well. Instead of not thinking of something, replace it with happy thoughts. [editline]14th June 2011[/editline] Best way to get lucid in my experience is to get an awesome goal - something that you really want to do. I'm not just talking about something cool, I'm talking about something that makes you feel excited and gets your adrenaline pumping when you simply think about it. [editline]14th June 2011[/editline] Obviously, if it turns into a nightmare mid-dream, you can make it back into a good dream if you can. Easy ways of doing that is simply meeting whatever you're scared of, face your fear and don't think about it as something scary, think of it as your friend. Give the monster a bag of chips or something. Pat it on the head. Think happy thoughts. [editline]14th June 2011[/editline] That requires the skill of creating stuff, though. Which is another aspect in itself. Start off small. Don't try to force something to appear, it won't. Think that it will, and it will. For example said bag of chips. Don't explicitly think about creating it in your hand out of nowhere. Just know that it already is in your hand and give it away.
I have only had one lucid dream, I didn't even want to have one. I was in orbit around earth. I wasn't even in a spaceship, I was just floating there. I realize I'm in a dream and I decide to fly down closer to earth. Then I think: "I'm in a lucid dream. Oh crap I don't want sleep paralysis!" Then I wake up and stuff my face in my pillow. I'm such a coward.
