Alright, that's what I used to get my glorious one second of lucid dreaming last night.

[sp]HEY! HEY! LISTEN![/sp]
I burst out laughing.
I think I was going into sleep paralysis this morning. I the process of waking up, I was hearing this whispering angry british voice. I didn't listen to what the voice was saying but I was focusing on hearing the voice. I started feeling my mind go back to sleep but I was still paying attention to the voice. All of a sudden I start to feel my body go all tingly and numb, but then it felt like I stopped breathing. I panicked and fully woke up.
Is this like the first stage of sleep paralysis?
K, time for some more TL;DR (I really need to make a habit of staying up to date with this thread)
Could be the feeling of falling and not falling at the same time.
I know when that happens, it freaks me out
Then again, I am afraid of heights, so assuming that my experience and your experience are the same would be a case of hasty generalization
Daaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww
[sp]HEY! HEY! LISTEN![/sp]
Alright, firstly, take your time to type. I think I understand what you're trying to say, but with grammar like that I can't be sure.
Secondly, I'd like to point out the perhaps relevant irony in the fact that you dreamt about being a wolf.
And thirdly, I'd like to ask if you were watching TV in bed. In that case, it's pretty understandable why you'd fall asleep, and it might be the source of some of the 'voices' too... or not, I won't pretend to know what goes on in a furry's mind
Aaaaaand as far as personal news, I'm rescheduling my appointment for nose pillows because I'm going to a kick-ass sci-fi convention from Thursday to Sunday.
Oh, and I sort of accomplished my dream goal about Touhou, but I want to be in Gensokyo, bullet hell be damned
And once again I confirm the fact that I am a massive weaboo... At least it's not as bad as confirming the fact that I'm a furry
sorry about that spanish is my native lenguage so i tend to have lots of grammar errors while writing on english
No WILD success last night, #3 is tonight.
I'll report in the morning. (Or afternoon, like most days lately)
I unrealizingly drank a giant Dr. Pepper yesterday at 3 pm.
I spent an hour and a half lying relaxed in bed, waiting to fall asleep/WILD.
I managed to count my breathes to over 500 before I got bored.
sorry about that spanish is my native lenguage so i tend to have lots of grammar errors while writing on english
Oh, that's okay. My real problem is with people who have English as their first language but don't want to bother acting like it. I don't really even have a problem with furries; I just like calling people furries to see their reaction.
So, furry business aside, all I have to talk about is last night's dreaming. I don't remember much from before I was woken up at 8:30, and I don't know if anything happened between then and when I was woken up again at 9:30. I do know, though, that I felt that I was very close to achieving my dream goal of going to Gensokyo (the setting of the Touhou franchise, which I am entirely too obsessed with). The person waking me up left, and I figured I would spend a few minutes in bed to try to LD my way to success. I dreamt I was at a party in someone's house (looked like a relative's), and there was a zombie movie playing. I tried to get a Touhou movie in instead, which people didn't seem to like the idea of. They convinced me to wait till the movie was over, so as I waited and watched for my opportunity, I tried opening doors to Gensokyo. Didn't work; most of them led to another room of the house, though some led outdoors. Anyways, I ended up failing again, and I woke up at 11:30. This was a problem, since my job starts at 10:30. I called to tell my boss that I suck, and she seemed dissappointed but otherwise fine. Turns out, though, that her boss heard and decided it wasn't okay, and counted it as the second of my three strikes (what the first was, I'll never know). So yeah, if I keep sleeping in, I'm gonna get fired from my first job. That can't be good for my resume...
The moral of the story: Lucid Dreaming is relatively low-priority. At least compared to having a job, anyways.
So I'm reading "Lucid Dreaming - gateway to the inner self" (Robert Waggoner) and it's pretty interesting so far. I'm a little skeptical the further I go along because in the contents there are chapters called "Mutual Lucid Dreaming" (dream sharing I'm guessing), "Conciously Connecting via Telepathy" and strangest of all "Interacting with the Deceased" (I realize that you can interact with dream figures who are dead in waking reality, but I get the feeling as if he's going to argue they're real).
I also read "Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming" (Stephen LaBerge) which is a good read for learning MILD and some WILD stuff.
It's weird how my past two dreams were on the 28 and the 29th..
I had a weird ass dream last night, not sure how I didn't go Lucid, and I thought I was still dreaming when I woke up.
It started with me going to bed, I was in some weird future where everything is chrome blah blah, and in the morning I go to school. I turn in some assignment to the teacher and she asks me if I ever thought about shooting up the school, I was like "What? No!" and left the classroom, where I saw somebody who was apparently my friend in the dream and we were like "Hah, more like (insert whatever name we said while gesturing to a kid across the hall) would shoot up the school" when I had my futuristic Ipod in my hand for whatever reason, and some kid named Cody stole it from my hand and said "I AM A TERRORIST" and then a teacher tackled him, and I tried to get the Ipod back from the teacher, but Cody said it was his, and the teacher check, the background (?) was his name and he had full knowledge of what was on the ipod. The teacher gives it to him and leaves the hall, and suddenly the three of us (the unnamed friend, cody, and I) are in my bedroom. I try to kill him which leads to a large combat scene, and I eventually collapse on my bed. I have a false awakening where my bed is straight up and in the middle of the desert next to a helicopter crash, when I step out of the bed (weird gravity) I fall through the sand, and when I wake up again the roof of this hotel looks like the scene from the dream (fan being the helicopter blades) and I think "oh shit this is a dream", stepping out and realizing I actually woke up this time.
So, if I do a reality check in my dream, but it doesn't make me go lucid...what do I do? In several dreams recently I've done the nose pinch check and been able to breathe, but it felt like I just went "Ah fuck it that's supposed to happen" and moved on. What should I do now?

It's because you're supposed to practice reality checks outside of your dreams. If you do it inside without doing it outside a lot, your brain will shrug it off.

One night when I really wanted to lucid, I was nose plugging every 2-3 minutes, then I went lucid for the first time that night because I plugged my nose in the dream. Just do it a lot in real life then it will work.
I need some help here. For as long I can remember I have had a recurring dream, it's horrible.
Basically, I'm in a swimming pool that I used to be in when I was younger, it's small, but in the dream it feels massive. I have a feeling of despair almost, worry, no hope as if I'm going to be stuck here forever, and there is just this indescribable feeling I have, like fear but not scary.
Now I'm not scared of swimming, but this worries me. I've had it for as long as I can remember. Does anyone know what it might mean?
I dreamed I was in a saw movie as one of the victims. However, I kind of liked it.
I've managed to establish communications with my sub while awake again. Is good day.

Bah, I talk to myself frequently.
I had a dream about rollerskating a few nights ago. It was fun.
Either last night or the night before, I dreampt I got in a fight with Kevin James. It was all elaborate and jumpy punchy throwy like.
At one point, I tried throwing him, but we both went flying, and hit the ground. Hard.
I know it was a dream, but damn that hurt.
As for talking to yourself, you don't actually need to say anything.
I talk to the voices in my head all the time. My metal vision may be crap but audio is pretty good.
fun fun fun
I've always been interested in this. How are you guys able to talk to yourself/voices/your sub? I'm guessing these are 'voices' you have no control over.
Yeah, its just like talking to a trolling mini-me in my head.

Pffft.
I don't even have to be vocal to talk to him.

Beware of placebo. They are not necessarily "voice you have no control over". Subconscious, as severely and constantly enforced, is your deepest emotions and is not a separate entity.
You can talk to "it", but remember that it is you, it is as limited as you are. The only thing it knows more than you is your deepest feelings and emotions.
Talking to it requires you to be calm and clear. You can start by ideomotor responses, which is noted on the OP, than you can move on to talking to it in your dreams. Eventually, you'll start talking to it in the waking life.
Once again, beware of placebo.

Never said I spoke out loud
FIRST LUCID DREAM!!!
I was taking a nap when I started dreaming about all kinds of different things. I had just moved from part of a supermarket to what looked like my school. Something told me to do a reality check, so I pressed my tongue against my teeth. To my surprise, I felt my tongue slid right through my teeth. To be sure I plugged my nose, but I could still hear myself breathe. A slight wave of excitement washed over me and I knew this might kick me out of my dream, so I rubbed my hands together until the excitement subsided. I don't remember doing much, and I'm pretty sure I ended up losing lucidity after a little while because my dream continued but I lost control.
was gud man

Thanks.
I've done the ideomotor response before, and it seemed accurate, but I wasn't sure how much of an influence I had over it; whether I was affecting the response with what I wanted to hear.
I've seen my sub a couple of times in dreams, but never long enough to have a proper conversation.

What would you rate the "realism" factor on your first lucid? Sharp? Fuzzy? Bright? Did you feel all of your senses?
I'm always interested to hear it from new lucid dreamers. First lucids are often fuzzy but sometimes they might be super vivid.

Well in my first lucid dream everything looked sharp yet it felt off. I don't know why. Hope that informs you a bit. Also, recently I had a lucid dream ad I entered it from waking up and being to tired to do anything, so I laid my head down and imagined I was in my dream and spun around in circles. It worked surprisingly well. Oh right, I also forgot to mention that I think I saw my sub. Though when I saw it I woke up.
Whenever I go lucid (or after), I can physically feel that it happened. It's in my chest/stomach area. I really have NO idea what it is. Anyone else? It's like my body's trying to adjust to the fact that it just lived through a fake reality or something.

It was pretty realistic. As far as sight, everything was very clear. I also had a good sense of touch from when I rubbed my hands together, other than that I didn't really have a chance to do much because like I said, I lost control after a little while.
The weirdest thing was I didn't remember any of my dreams when I woke up. It was like five minutes after, I was talking to my dad and all of the sudden I just started to remember a bunch of dreams. The lucid one I definitely remember the most, even now. I'm slowly forgetting details to the others(no dream journal) but I haven't forgotten any details from the lucid part.
I'm going to try to WILD before going to bed tonight(I know it's generaly difficult, but I have a past history of SP) and I'm going to set and alarm and try to WILD early tomorrow morning.
Is there any reason why I'm dreaming so much lately? The past 4 days brang me 3 dreams.
Is there any reason why I'm dreaming so much lately? The past 4 days brang me 3 dreams.
Lucky. I haven't had a dream in a week.
It seems that my thoughts always influence my dreams, if I think of something it will most likely happen. Ive had my dream go back and re-do something because I thought of another way it should happen. Like last night in my dream I was hearing some music when I turned to the person I was with and said "You know what we need here? Some drum and bass." And as soon as I said that Blood Sugar started to play. You would think that I would be able to at least think about doing a RC when ever this happens.
I had two dreams last night.
The first was another excruciatingly long dream about an alien invasion. This seems to be a recurring :v:
After that was a dream involving a pool.
