When I first started visiting this thread, I mentioned that, every person is different. So the way you approach techniques may differ.
What works for one may not work for another. Forget techniques for a moment. Rather than doing what others suggest, and say. Try doing what you think works. Create your own technique, one that will be made for you. The thing about doing it like that is, that it is hard. But seeing as you are here it is something you want to achieve.
Remember that dreams occupy the same space as your mind, and thus when dreaming, what you think is. What you believe is. Believe it.
And most of all have fun, when you manage it.
That really could be caused by a variety of factors.
Is it that your dream just goes dark? Yet you are still dreaming?
This. I was also very lucid at the time as I could see everything very clearly. It's when I "move my eyes" to look somewhere else, not turning my head or facing at something else.
I just dreamed I dragged two logs with people sitting on them over a mile there and back. Running. And clouds were all retarded.
After 3 nights of nothing, I had my first (WILD induced) lucid last night. I do the breathing check, and I was so excited I kept doing it over and over and I dreamt that I woke myself up. :[ I was so sad. and then I did the check again and I was still asleep & lucid. it made me excited again. :v: but I didn't have any ideas, so I just went on a walk with some friends... and it didn't seem right, I don't think I had a firm enough idea. I'll try again. (and yeah, I know there's a list of ideas, I just forgot them at the time.)
I have a really weird theory about speaking to your subconscious in rl.
I also have a question about those who claim that they speak in tongues (russian) when the wake up, etc., is it true? If it is, it'll back up my theory on the subconscious.
If you want to know about the theory, I'll post it.

I speak to mine frequently in RL.
I have no knowledge of people speaking in other languages when they wake, however that may just be me.
Oblivious that seems odd, as i have said try creating light. Or it may actually be part of your dream.

I know, but I think I came pretty close to it, yet at the end there is always something blocking me (hair that starts tickling among other stuff). So I just want to know some tips or tricks to help ignore that.

I speak to my sub irl a lot too. As for another language, I doubt that would be even close to possible unless I fell asleep with rosettastone on or something.
I just had the best dream, I was able to get back into it several times once I woke up, and even though each time was a little bit different, each time was awesome.
So I had some other dreams that I know I remembered, but at this point I forget them. Anyway, I also remember waking up and going back to sleep and continuing the dream at least once before this point.
Anyway, there was this ape sort of atteacking this house, and I had a nailgun, but I was sort of staying back. After a while of this, my mom and I decided to run away, so we rang on some strangers doorbell and she let us in. We had some food then I woke up.
THEN, I was able to get back into the dream, but this time I was sort of following the ape with a cinematic camera, and he was huge, and it was in New York. I realized it was basically king kong, so I decided to make the story play out, but in a different way than normal. I started to arrive at the empire state building, (I was also part car or something, don't ask), and I looked around the city and noticed how incredibly vivid it was, and I was really amazed.
So once I got to the empire state, I felt like I was the one actually climbing it, so I started going up. The way I wanted to make the story was that I'd look into one of the windows and see my "jane" and take her out. So I did that and started going to the top (which was now a big ball like on taipei 101).
At this point, I was just sort of a flying camera, and I saw this guy setting up this smooth surface all along the building so king kong couldn't climb up, but he didn't finish in time. Then when he fell down, I decided that it would be really cool to have some intense cinimatic shot of someone looking up while falling down the tower while looking up, so I did it, and it felt awesome.
When I hit the ground, I went "through" the map, and noticed I was actually in killing floor. So I made the monkey drop the lady, and then he jumped down and saved her on her plummet, so the story was over, and then I started to play killing floor.
At this point I still didn't exactly have a body or anything, I was just sort of floating around, but I said to myself "I want to do a reality check", this is the first time I've managed to remember to do that in a dream. So I sort of imagined myself putting my hand through my other hand, but since I wasn't actually a body, and just a camera, I didn't really see anything, but suddenly the whole world started to get really fuzzy or something, and then I woke up.
I really hope I can have such vivid dreams tomorrow, and I can try again to do a reality check. Even though these weren't exactly what Id call lucid, I still feel like I knew I was dreaming for some parts, like when I decided to look around the city and it was incredible looking, I was like "wow, I managed to fall back into the same-ish dream even though I woke up! and it looks great!"
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
I've heard about the language thing, I think its for people who can already understand the language, but they can't exactly speak it, and then suddenly after a dream they discover how to form the language on their own and can speak it fluently.

How do you get back into dreams anyway? If I try I always get something unrelated.
How do you get back into dreams anyway? If I try I always get something unrelated.
Well, usually, professional lucid dreamers can do it, but it can rarely happen to those just beginning it. If I wake up from a dream, I focus on that dream and go back to sleep. Having the thought where your dream ended and continuing it can make your brain 'go back' to your 'same' dream.
I've been having some trouble recently, quite a while ago I started trying to lucid dream, and was able to almost do WILD quite often, i'd just stay still and everything would go smashingly (Although I've never actually gone through the paralysis, I always decide against it at the last second, but the sensation was definately cool)
Problem is, I can't seem to do that anymore.
I can just lay there for an hour and i'd always inadvertedly move, but the biggest problem is I keep moving my eyes now. I may also open my eyelids ever so slightly unintentionally. Is there anything I may have forgotten, or some sort of cause for this type of thing?
And in the months i've tried lucid dreaming I've had only a few really short dreams which is a little disheartening
Also one thing interesting is I've made my dream recall really good, but the problem is I'm now going through a small phase of real-life dissociation and confusing dreams for real events which is weird as hell.

Well I have been working at it for quite some time now, I just never really had a lucid dream.
my recall is really good, and all the dreams I have are very vivid, and most are semi-lucid.
this is the closest I've gotten.
This night I had a lucid, then a fake awakening.

For a time I dreamed that the clock was, for example, 4:00 and woke up, looked at the clock and it was 4:00. Happened to me many times .. It was scary. I always remember my dreams and want to tell them to everybody, but nobody wants to listen :(

You need to start practicing methods. I prefer using PILD if you can drink a large amount and go to sleep quickly after that.
I had a shitty night for dreams last night, and I started to try to WILD/FILD around 10 this morning, and it almost worked but at that point I wasn't really tired anymore.
[editline]21st July 2011[/editline]
shitty night as in barely remember a thing

WILDing is more for people who have at least a grasp on lucidity, as stated in the OP(I think). I don't remember all the methods, but making your alarm clock wake you up 2 hours before you know you'll wake up and then going back to sleep increases your chance of going lucid.
It's because during the daytime, your brain uses special materials to 'wake' up your brain, making it more stimulated. During the night-time, the brain produces the quite opposite of the materials it did in the day, slowly 'shutting' off the brain so you can sleep.
I have some really weird dreams, I should really start a dream log.
My theory about talking to your sub. in rl.
If you have to blank your mind and have your sub. speak, I have a sneaky feeling that it isn't your subconscious.
Opening your mind or clearing it usually allows clarity of thought and stuff but since you're not thinking and just keeping it blank, there is a possibility that your body can become a channel for a spirit.
Because spirits are extremely god like and smart, it would seem very possible that it can pretend or fool you into believing that it is your subconscious, speaking to you as if it is yourself that is speaking. They can probably be able to identify many things about you just by observation so impersonation are probably feasible for them.
I might be over thinking things, but the thought really scared me when I was thinking about how some of you posted the way you've been communicating with your "sub."
[editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
I just read some posts about speaking to your sub. and I think I already talk to my sub. sometimes.
At random times, I would start criticizing myself about something I did. Then I would reply to myself for whatever comment I just said. Then the other part would say something back that would be pretty mean. Then a third person would come in and say you're arguing with yourself. Then I would say you're all fake. Next another one would come in and for some reason a paradox forms and duplicate after duplicates of myself like layers of sheet glass would keep coming up in my head.
Then I stop thinking for a few seconds and take a deep breath and do whatever I was doing.
The above usually happens about every few weeks or so. Is that my sub. or is it just in my head?

go find geogzm and ostegolation, because that theory is dumb as hell and so are they.

just sayin
Subconscious Theory
I'll be nice with you.
Opening your mind allows influence to come in, which influences your subconscious, as well as you. Clearing your mind improves the link between you and your subconscious some what.
Your body is not channel for a spirit. The proper term for that spirit part is called placebo, which when you believe so much in something that you actually think it is real. (e.g. You're sick, you go to doctor, he gives you glucose pills to fix it up. You think they work, so you feel much better after you take them, but when in reality, they do nothing.)
One very important thing is, your subconscious is you and you are it. It feels just as you do, it knows as much as you do. It is just as influenced as you are. You both are one and the same. You're the publisher and it is the producer, it produces and you decide whether it gets published. When you feel sad, or better yet, your "subconscious" is sad, you decide whether to express it, hide it or to try overcome it.
Ok I had some relatively clear and vivid dreams, and I remembered a lot of them.
But the weirdest part is that I had a false awakening. Not just any false awakening, I actually woke up specifically thinking "I'm going to get up and get a glass of water, then go back to sleep, maybe that will help me get a lucid dream"
I passed 2 clocks on my way there, and didn't even glance at them, even though IRL I always look at clocks when I wake up.
Also, every time I even think about dreams IRL, I will do at least one reality check, but in this dream I did 0.
I know for a fact that if I did the same thing as my dream, but IRL, I would have done at least one or two reality checks.
Also later I had another sort of false awakening, there was this little bird I was holding (long story to do with my dream), and it suddenly jumped at me, and I spun it around (trying to use it as a camera??? I don't know it made no sense), and I knew I was lying in bed, but I still thought I was holding the bird, then a little while later I fully woke up.
I had a dream I had a lesbian foursome with my friends (irl friends). I don't even know why. I felt really bad about doing it as I was doing it and it was barely enjoyable. I kept thinking, 'Why am I doing this?' It has to mean something other than the obvious, since I've always strongly preferred men over women. And even if I did like pussy, it certainly wouldn't be my friends', that's for fucking sure.
I don't think I can look them in the eyes anymore.
did you videotape your dream
So I had this dream. There was some new program that just came out which allowed you to make 2d pictures into 3d, like a hands picture was shown and the whole thing could be rotated etc, showing all around. So apparently it got made into a tech that turned the things it showed into real stuff, on the person. So (and now it starts to get fucked up) a guys dick is used with that and, well, according to this dream, the other side of it is a mangina as it was dubbed by the experts. I didn't see either part, rather heard about it.
So now im part of a science team who has to figure out how to rid mr mangina of his problem. I do stuff with fossils and arts, helpful. One member is practically cutting out single cells to rotate them or so, to get behind the technology which no one knows how it works. She's not succeeding.
So I go over to a girl i know, who's the team leader, who has attached a grain of rice to her under 16 Olympic gold skiing medal. The rice disappears when the medal is tugged on. Apparently this has to do with the ionosphere OF the medal and the energy involved or something. The girl, who is blond, also turns out to be a secret ginger in this dream, her hair turns all curly and fuzzy and ginger when I'm up close talking with her, as ginger hair is.
I also then get a text in some Asian language that my phone can translate into interesting things. It's accompanied by pokemon pictures.
This was a pretttttyy strange dream
-snip-
I had a lucid dream that only lasted for about 15 seconds. I woke up in bed and I had my phone turned back on the day before so the first thing I did was look at the time. I don't remember the exact time but I put it down and chilled for a minute and was trying to send a text to my nephew when I looked at the phone and the time was all screwed up. I started talking to myself at this point.
"What the.."
"Wait.. Am I..?"
I closed my nose and mouth and breathed in a deep and refreshing breath and let go to scream.
"WOAH I'M DREAMING, YESSSSSS!" I ran fast as hell out of my room to tell everyone but before I could find anyone I woke up. :(
Hope it happens again, I've read some tricks to extend them and whatnot.
-goddamndoubleposts-
No luck in the past 2 weeks-ish. I'm used to sleeping at 4 in the morning because of summertime lu-uh-luvin', gonna go to the beach and do some beachy thangs
