Anyone ever experience a wake initiated lucid dream? Feels crazy, like entering another dimension.
My dream had something to do with my cat
I got those a lot. Mostly because I stayed up all night wiping blood from her mouth, as she slowly stopped breathing.
It was, like 2 years ago already, but I still dream of her fluffy self laying on me in bed, the way she did when she was alive.
Sorta sad, 'cause even in my dreams, I knew that she was undeniably dead, and that I was just dreaming about her.
...
OH RIGHT, what I came here to post
So last night I had a dream about an anti-sub; pretty generic nightmare stuff, though my nightmares are always more implicitly scary than explicitly. All I really remember is that there was a constant sense of foreboding.
But when I woke up, I probed a bit further (I talk to myself... aka my sub), and turns out he wasn't really a bad guy at all. In fact, they were both totally in agreement with everything except in the case of honesty; my anti-sub argued that I shouldn't have to hide anything to anyone, and my sub said that's stupid, because my parents would totally misunderstand my interest in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (damn bronies caught me with my entirely metaphorical pants down). Well, and other things, but... I'm ashamed to say that's probably the main thing. Though I suppose there also was a bit of a spat over the fact that I was planning on writing a terribad crossover fanfic, and my anti-sub figured I should get to it instead of succumbing to the subconscious urge to browse knowyourmeme instead. Because having some sort of lasting impact on society is my life goal, and writing a fanfic is closer to achieving that goal than wiki-walking is. So like being honest to myself... especially considering my subconscious promised me dammit
Soooo... yeah, the fact is that anti-subs are really just imaginary constructs utilized by your subconscious to personify inner conflict, as it also was in this case. So unless the conflict is whether to commit suicide (or something similarly grimdark), you probably aren't in any danger from any anti-subs.
And in such a case, you shouldn't expect to deal with it by yourself; get at least some sort of help from someone you trust.
I was having a lucid dream, but then someone told me it wasn't a dream and I believed them like the idiot I am
I had a lucid dream where I was living with this woman and we shagged, a lot.
Here's a picture of her

I fell asleep om the floor for a half hour and had an amazing lucid. It was in a floating islands world. Everywhere was overrun by big ugly graphic monsters. Half organic half machine. I climbed an intensely steep hill and jumped to another floating island. There were people on this one, and they gave me an awesome gun and told me to defend. Everything was intensely vivid. About halfway through the ream, My vision got weird. Everything was unfocused and bright, and I couldnt stop blinking. I sat down and tried to stabilize. I fixed my vision, but when I tried to touch something I felt what I was laying on IRL. I opened my eyes IRL and saw both in my dream and what was going on in my house IRL at the same time overlayed. I tried to focus on the dream but it faded and my sight IRL got more solid. At the last possible moment before waking up, I got sucked right back into the dream and got a case of exploding head syndrome, along with extreme pressure and pain in my head. I continued on, but this same thing happened 3 times over again.
I had this exact same experience recently. it was extremely confusing.
Yeah I didn't even think to post about it until I saw your post.
Had SP again while falling asleep last night, but then went lucid. First time that ever happened to me, it was great.
I was briefly lucid last night, when I realized I just started walking down the street I was on, taking in how amazing it was that my brain conjured this place up. Then I tried to close my eyes and spin while thinking of a fast car, this is where it all fucked up and I woke up.

Uhm, isn't that a common picture of a trap?
[editline]15th August 2011[/editline]
Also, I have to address this-
How to summon in a lucid dream
This is something most people have difficulty in a lucid dream, because if you can't do this, there goes half the fun of lucid dreaming. Remember as a kid, when you ran with a imaginary sword or something and beat your friends in imaginary fights. You could actually feel the sword, true? If you want to summon an object, you have to feel that it is there, but make sure you summon it out of your sight. You can summon absolutely anything, guns, meteors, Jesus, people, a second penis and blue gas.
With the same technique, you can transform yourself, since you don't actually look at yourself.
You don't have to do that. Summoning things in your sight is easy if you use the right technique- Making just appear out of thin air is hard, but it becomes much easier once you assign it an animation, for example, the one the happens whenever you spawn something in Gmod. Using the spawn menu for stuff generally works too if you are familiar with Gmod.
Uhm, isn't that a common picture of a trap?
Not sure. But I don't think I'll have to worry about it.
I dreamed sex with a girl. What does it mean?
Lol
it means you are finally beginning puberty!
I find I can get into lucid dreaming if I just think about it during the day, and try and remember dreams when I wake up. I don't really need to keep a journal.
Before I read about the anti-sub in op, I was fine.
After I read it, I'm looking behind me and hearing things every few seconds and being terrified.
fuck
WOW
So I was down at my grandma's summer home, and my cousin got me a new really cool red car for my birthday, but it was stick, and I don't know how to drive manual.
It was in some parking lot at my school, even though that's nowhere near my grandma's summer home, and me and my dad decided that I could just get in and see if I could switch it to drive, and when I tried that, the second I turned it on it started inching forward, even though I as clearly pressing the brake down.
So I got out and like picked the car up somehow, and it sorta hit a girl but nothing bad happened, it was just really embarrassing.
So my dad was like, "I'll take you somewhere else to learn", so we start driving.
And I feel really embarrassed about messing up, but I knew that I had been pressing the brake the whole time.
That's the really cool part, I used logic to figure out that I was in a dream.
I was first just explaining it to him, like "It's not my fault, I was definitely definitely pressing as hard as I could on the brake, but.. the car started moving my itself... and that doesn't make sense... so I must be dreaming..."
But I was in this car and my dad was driving, and I really didn't feel like I had much control. I was going to wait until he stopped, but I knew I'd probably slip out of the dream, so I started doing math problems and making sure to look around me. We were driving for maybe 2 minutes when we got to a clearing where I was pretty sure he was going to stop, but stupidly I hadn't been looking around because I got a little lazy, and within another few seconds I was awake.
But I hadn't moved at all, so I just stayed still, and started focusing on the clearing with me and my dad (and this time it was day because it was a little creepy there at night), but after like 10 minutes of focusing I knew I couldn't get back in, so I started trying to picture a beach which is one of the easiest places for me to picture, but I still couldn't start a dream, so I eventually gave up.
But yeah that was awesome that I used logic to figure out I was in a dream.
Also I am almost positive that school is my dream sign, because almost all of my dreams have to do with school in some way.
and it sort of sucks, because I was so excited to drive this awesome car to school each morning, and show it to one of my friends who drives a stick and thinks it's lame that I don't.
anyway that was my second lucid ever, I thought I had a lot more control with that one, even though i didn't have control over the car.

While that's true for more advanced people, people that are just beginning are better of thinking it's behind them because your brain is much more willing to go along with that than HEY THIS IS SUDDENLY HERE.
Not that I'm suggesting everything in your dreams are always going to be realistic, but when you're new to LDing, you don't want to upset the balance if you can help it. Your brain is fragile and annoying, let's try not to upset it if we can.

The whole anti-sub thing is kind of complicated, but it's not like a ghost or anything. It's not going to come up and kill you in your sleep.
the whole anti sub thing is bullshit. the way you will "only know about it once you've read about it" means that you don't know about it, you just learn the new idea.
if you take it seriously, then yes it will exist for you, because you want it to exist.
also the one thing about my dream that was creepy was that once I went lucid I never really looked in the front seat, and i'm pretty sure my dad wasn't even in the car.
I'm just scared of what I would have seen if I decided to look in the front seat.

IN YOUR SLEEP
[sp]To all humans who have spoke, "truths", of the anti-subconscious.[/sp]
[sp]Your master wishes that all these "truths", to over go, erasure, from existence.[/sp]
[sp]This to be effective tomorrow. Any who wish to defy your master's orders.[/sp]
[sp]Whether it is by human forgetfulness, or by the desire to rebel.[/sp]
[sp]Shall succumb, to an oblivion; Driven to the brink of diabolical hatred, for as long as existence has yet to halt. To reluctantly accept dire intent to commit suicide.[/sp]
[sp]Your lord and master, Oblivious1.[/sp]
Way to start up the :bandwagon:, Oblivious. I see you found the keys where I left them.

Don't forget to put some gas in it; it was running pretty low last time I saw it.

Dude, if you're trying to be funny by flamboyantly asserting that, as your slaves/inferiors, people will realize the proper thing to do is kill themselves...
What the hell guy. I don't care whether you mean it, even joking about convincing people to kill themselves is not fodder for jokes.
Internet, I am dissapoint.
some dream
im speeding behind the wheel of a volvo 940 with a beretta 92 in my hand, and i'm bleeding from a gunshot wound in the left of my stomach. theres a little girl in the passenger seat out cold, and we're heading over a bridge in the car while bullets fly through the rear windshield. i aim back at a red suv and fire at it twice, then suddenly the bridge collapses and my car nosedives into the ocean. i fire at the windshield to break the glass, then kick it out before i drown with the girl. i push her out the windshield then i start passing out from blood loss as i watch her float to the surface.
then i wake up and im like fuck i have to pee really bad
I've been completely sleeping through my alarm without even waking up for an instant, does anyone have any advice?
it's a really loud and annoying alarm

Well, it depends. Has anything changed that would affect your sleeping habits? Maybe you could try getting more sleep?

It's all fun and games until a friend slits their wrists after losing the ability to distinguish between imagination and reality. It really makes me wonder what I might have done differently... even if he is doing better now.
... I don't expect people to actually believe what you said, I'm just saying I find it devoid of all potential for humor.
Maybe it's just me... thing is, I have an actual reason for feeling that way. Do you have an actual reason for finding it funny?
...look, I enjoy trolling, just... that just rubs me the wrong way is all. Sorry for snapping at you... but I'd do it again.
Grrr ambivalence grrr
One time when I was little I watched Courage the Cowardly dog, had a dream like this and woke up really scared.
