:/ I hate this thread in this section since it goes unreplied to for quite a while sometimes.
Read the OP, waiting for anti-sub fun times.
Unless that's an inside joke.
Surely though any sort of manifestation of 'negative emotions' can be dealt with with honest self reflection?
Don't worry about it - it's just a placebo. I used to think they were significant, but now I see them as a normal nightmare creature that can be dealt with like anything else.
In short, I believe that the things people said created this character, and as a result, people have believed that it was real, which caused the "anti-sub" to manifest in their dreams. I don't believe that all the accounts of them were truthful, either.
(Does that thing even need to be in the OP anymore, anyway?)
Finally... I did it!
I was trying C-WILD but I got tired and I just said "Screw this." and turned over to sleep normally.
In my dream, I was in my room. I looked out the window and saw an amazing display of stars and planets, remembering what everyone said when they looked at the sky in a lucid. My dream got into a minor lucid state! It wasn't very clear and I had trouble controlling myself but the fact that it was somewhat lucid made me happy.
Who knew a WILD could turn into a MILD, he he.
Is it normal for a dream world to 'make up' a person and re-use them over and over?
Because I have been having a re-occuring dream where I have a heart to heart discussion with the same character every night. (note; I can't actually recall the conversations, but I remember the tone of it)
I've now got a girl problem. This morning had a dream about girl A (slightly nerdy, cute), which was a body-switching dream and kind of created a bond I now feel for her. Today I asked girl B (hot, cheer captain) to winter formal. All the while, girl C is flirting with me, but she's kind of a slut.
All 3 girls noticeably like me.
Why do my dreams tend to cause conflicts?
Locked the other one, better to keep it in 1 thread.
Orkel: Mod of the month.
I've been wishing the other one would go away for quite some time.
P.S. Orkel, it was worth it.
I often dream about the apocalypse. One of these instances involved me going to some sorta Home Depot type After-the-End superstore that was run by survivors.
I was there with a few friends and we were filling our car up with some barricades or something, and all of a sudden my pants were filling up with medicine, I look at my friend and In was like, "No, we shouldn't be stealing"
And then I was like, Wtf, I looked down and counted my fingers (like it said to on the OP) The outcome was 3 and 7. I realized I was in a dream but I can't remember what happened after that

Does this mean anything?

Uh, that sometimes happens. Usually the person represents something or someone... could be your subconscious. Which is awesome, trust me.
Also, that is an extremely good dream to be having. It seems to me that that probably means a part of you is trying to understand yourself. What those parts are, I dunno, especially since who you were in the dream might have itself signified something... some part of you... yeah, it can be complicated. But it's probably not.
Crap. I was so close to LDing I think. I started to get that feeling of having a dream/ sleep paralysis. And eventually when I did have sleep paralysis, I relaxed and did a reality check by holding my nose and breathing and I was in fact dreaming, but then all of a sudden, I just had a really big breath then I was awake again.
I think my subconsciousness doesn't wan't me to see what's in my mind.

Damnit, I had a dream about girl A again. And I dont even remember it. I woke up at 5 right after it and I didn't feel like writing it down so I told my self to remember that I was with her on a train. When I woke up normally I remembered that part, but forgot the rest.
It's annoying that this thread is in Chat Threads, since that is a section where not many people goes. Is there a possibility of this thread being moved to GD like the other LD thread which is now locked?
I had a rather unusual lucid dream related situation last night. I went to sleep, woke up, and attempted to induce WILD, and I think it worked. I'm not entirely sure, because of what happened afterwards. I got a loud, screechy noise, like wind blowing really hard, and buzzing all over myself. I don't remember everything exactly, but I fell asleep, and I think I had a lucid dream. The problem was, I had a false awakening, and in the false awakening, I thought I had sleep paralysis, because the screeching was really loud and I was buzzing all over my body.
There was a shadowy figure "blinking" towards me a few feet at a time. I think I was lucid at the time, but some "dream logic" wormed it's way through, because my perspective was a little wonky, and the figure was somewhat far away in the room I was "sleeping" in, which wasn't my room, but I didn't acknowledge this because I was scared shitless of this figure coming towards me, which was worse because of all the buzzing and screeching. I thought I was actually awake so I figured this was just sleep paralysis. I attempted to go back to "sleep" while still in the false awakening, and this situation happened at least two more times, with me "waking up" to this figure teleporting towards me.
At some point, I decided to try to move while still in the false awakening, where I discovered I wasn't actually paralyzed at all, though I wasn't sure because while it felt like I was moving my hands, my eyes were closed, and I got the sense that my hands weren't actually moving at all, even though I could feel them move. Finally, I ended up waking up for real, in my actual room. I was still buzzing all over, but there wasn't any screeching in my ears. I believe I went back to sleep after that without any lucid dreams, just regular dreams.
Last night when I went to bed, I tried to get into a WILD, but I fell normally asleep like a fucking noob. I laid still for 2 hours thinking to myself "I am dreaming, I am dreaming" with every breath, but I had no success. I did, how ever, get a lot of chills down my feet, and every time it happened, I thought "this is it!". But every time I felt like I was falling asleep, my pupils started going down (when you close your eyes to sleep, they are normally going up) and I had trouble keeping my eyes closed. So they would eventually open, and the whole thing would be ruined.
Well, I fell asleep and I woke up this morning. As I didn't get much sleep, I was very unclear in my head. But I remembered this thing about lucid dreaming, and I closed my eyes and thought to myself "I am dreaming, I am dreaming" again. But as I tried to get into a WILD, I kind of saw these small, white text boxes saying "You must not sleep." or something, and my own voice reading them out loud (inside of my head). I fell normally asleep again for about 15 minutes, untill waking up and continuing the day. Facepunch, do you think that my mind might not want to let me lucid dream?
I had a MILD about a week ago that went like this:
I was dreaming that I was in my classroom, talking to one of my friends. I looked around, and I suddently realised that I was dreaming, because the whole scene didn't look real at all. So I looked at one of my classmates, and his face got blurred out all over the place. I don't think I did it, I just think that it happened. It looks like the same, when you in photoshop blurs someone face out on the whole picture. Anyways, for some reason my heart reate increased and I got scared shitless. I got really, really, scared, and I wanted to wake up. I tried to lift up my hands, but I couldn't. I tried to keep calm, because behind all of the panic, I knew that it was sleep paralysation. I then had a false awakening. As relieved as I was, I took my hands up to my face, only to realise that I couldn't feel my face, neither did I actually raise my hands. And then my heart started beating again. I then heard a really loud BANG, I guess it was Exploding Head Syndrome, and then I woke up. The first second after opening up my eyes, I saw some strange patterns on the wall, which then disappeared. I was actually unsure if I really was awake, or if I still was dreaming, but as I got up, I knew that I was awake.
The whole thing above happened in about 10 seconds. 10 seconds which felt like an eternity.
Now, the next day, I had a dream again, where I was in my classroom. One of the girls from my class showed me her hands, because she wanted to show me how small and bulky they were. (idk why). Then, another girl who had her hands in her jacket pockets, walked up. I told her that I wanted to see her hands too. She took her hands out, but on one of her hands was a black glove. And for some reason, at that exact point, I knew that I was dreaming. I stared at that black glove, and it felt like I was trying to pull it off using my whole body with a power of a thousand suns. (i am not even kidding). I was TERRIBLY scared, and I heard some kind of buzzer, then I woke up.
Please tell me what's wrong with me. And if my brain simply won't allow me to lucid dream.
Edit: Wow, I have sure been writing a lot. I hope it's a good read.

It used to be in GD.
WILD planning
-Set alarm clock to wake up after 4hours and 30 minutes
-Start WILD with counting
-?????
-Reality Check
-Probably failure.

My suggestion would be that whatever you do, don't give up... unless your subconscious tells you what the hell is going on. Because if your subconscious really cares that much about stopping your LDs, it should be willing and able (text boxes much?) to tell you why. Though it might be a bit more vague than you'd like; if what it's covering for would really mess you up, it can't allow you to uncover it. That would just be a dick move.
...that said, if it isn't actually your subconscious mind in some sort of respect (highly doubtful considering the text boxes, but whatever), then you really have nothing to lose by pushing for LDs. In that case, keep working on it, and it should get better.
So luckily for you both possibilities require the same kind of action on your part. Lucky.~

Okay, thanks. I'm going to try again tonight. I'm a lot more tired than yesterday, so I'm hoping for better results.
sweet! my psychology teacher just assigned a dream journal project for the next few weeks!
I already get pretty much at least one dream I remember a night, and I keep a dream journal, so this will be a piece of cake

I swear that one of my dreams this morning was of george takei saying 'oh my'
Realised I was in a dream this morning, then straight away something laughed in my ear, then it's like I got kicked out of the dream and woke up paralysed.
After waking up i started remembering my dream.

( Dream journal will be made public now.More content tomorrow if i can remember )

It's a dream, anything is possible.

Not at all. My sub is a spectral wolf.
Dream music: Alright, so I started listening to infected mushroom and last night I had another crazy awesome dream.
I was in post-apocalyptic New York City (again). Things had progressed since last time I was there. All the skyscrapers had fallen and been built on top of by giant metal structures, whech in turn, rusted and fell.
My hella awesome steampunk-ish submarine surfaced a little off the shore, but not out of reach from the twisted metal and rubble of yet another fallen civilization. We couldn't go any further underwater because of the rubble, so I and two others in my group went out and scavenged a way across the wreckage onto land. Charlotte, my favorite re-used projection was with me :). We saw a few people and eventually discovered that an old man named Maxom was hypnotizing people and turning them into mindless slaves.
After asking some of the more free-minded of the slaves, we discovered Maxom had two buildings in NYC. We made our way to the first one, which was a seemingly normal shaped skyscraper, decked out with red neon. it was in a clearing of rubble and twisted junk. We walked in and nobody was on the first few floors. There was a lot of people in the top couple of floors. We snuck up to where they were they were all gathered and there was an assembly going on, A hologram of Maxom speaking and he looked like an old white Kim Jong Il.
We didn't want to be seen, so we started going back downstairs when we were confronted with someone I knew last time I was there. He had a blank, pale face, and had the whole "thousand yard stare" thing going on. He told us "Get back to your seats." I asked him if he remembered me and he just kept staring. The slaves were slow in their state, so I pushed him over and we ran. When we got to the bottom of the building I got 4 packs of Thermite out of my bag and put them on the main 4 supports. We ran out of the building and I hit the trigger. After a few seconds of smoke and heat, the building started to go down. It fell almost straight down and leaned back as it went. A cloud of dust covered our escape.
As we made our way to the second tower, we were stopped by two men with red neon helmets. They hypnotized the other guy in my group, but Charlotte and I escaped. We made it to the second building, which was a giant A- frame (literally) building with red neon letters on it. One side said "MAXOM" and the other side had a bunch of brainwashing phrases I don't remember.

We got inside and inside was a huge stage with odd shapes everywhere and the aforementioned music playing. A tall, hugely build man was there, who looked like he was in charge. We walked boldly onto the stage, and the music stopped. Everyone was staring at us. I can't exactly remember what happened after that, but Another person I knew from last time there, and he looked like that dude with the sword thing from Pandorum. He and the big guy in charge here having an epic swordfight while I tried to find a way to blow up the building (I didn't have any more thermite). I looked back and saw the good dude get hit. He fell to his knees, looked up, then screamed like a raging drunk viking, pulled out a futuristic grenade thing, slashed a hole in the wall and threw in the grenade.
Either I was instantly outside, or thirdperson view kicked in, but I was seeing the outside of the building. Two huge explosions rocked through the two main parts of the building, and blew out the top. The building, now hollow, and lights flickering out, crumpled in on itself and collapsed.
Then I woke up.
