Is it normal for your subconscious to present itself as a non human form in a dream?
Mine is a seagull
Mine is a seagull
That's badass in a really minimalistic way.

Try to keep light around you, and if possible get out and do something outside for most of the day. If you're a coffee drinker, obviously have a cup of leaded when you start to feel really tired (but not 4-5 hours before you plan to go to sleep). Also, keep in mind that you've built up a sleep debt when planning on what time you are going to go to sleep. If you end up failing one day, you can always adjust accordingly and try again the next.
Dayum, I'm on a roll. Another freaky awesome dream last night (I guess this one could be classified as a nightmare). Does anyone here watch Hell on Wheels? Because that's where this dream starts off. Bohannon moves away and The awesome black dude with the chops (I was him) went with him to work for him. It was around Christmas time when we got to his house. His wife was there, even though she was dead in the series. While he was unpacking his things, I saw something that sent my blood cold. Hidden amongst some whiskey bottles was a demonic-looking bong lamp with 6 barrels, like a minigun. We built a shed and a "secret" cellar under it. Bohannon explained to me "My life was different before the war, that's not who I am now. What's in that cellar is not who I am now." A few days later, an old friend of his from the war came over. They were discussing stuff and getting drunk as hell, I didn't care. A little later, the guy came up to me and said he needed my help. He said "Bohannon's been hitting the lamp again." I didn't know what we meant, but I figured he was getting high. We went to the cellar door and looked down. He was sitting there, silent, rocking back and forth with his back to us. The old guy told me "It gives him the darkness." We walked up around him and saw his face. It was mostly hidden by a black mist, but I could see his jaw was hanging down a good foot, and his eyes were turned sideways, glowing white through the mist. He looked up at me and said in the most hideous voice ever, "Sit down. Take a hit....... with me." The black mist started slowly billowing out two more of the barrels. The old guy and I both slowly sat down, lowered our heads, and inhaled deeply. What happened after that, I don't exactly remember, but I remember seeing in third person, the three of us had mutated into one long snake thing. I was the base. About where my chest would have started, my body swirled into a worm shape. My arms were gone. My skin turned slightly transparent. The worm had a central core. It strung through the bottom of my head and out the top. My jaw was hanging loosely on the side. My eyes were along the sides of it, wide and glowing white. When the worm moved, the core would slide up and down through my head, sending my jaw dangling. I don't remember exactly what happened to the old guy, but Bohannon was at the top. All you could see of it was his chest, his arms were broken and gimpy, dangling off to one side. there were 4 eyes and 3 brains in his bulged head. The top of the head opened into a mouth. It was the most grotesque thing my mind has ever come up with. The next thing I remember, we were all laying on our backs, no longer a worm, in the cellar. The lamp was not burning anymore. We all walked up the stairs and went bout our day. After I had snapped out of the haze, I confronted Bohannon and told him he needed to destroy the lamp. He told me he had gotten the lamp from a witch in the bayou. Once we smoked from it, it knew what we were thinking and would eventually drive us crazy and we would have to smoke from it again. I told him we could pour gasoline down the stairs and light the shed on fire. We decided to do that. Once we got the gas rounded up it started raining. The cellar flooded, so it wouldn't burn. When we got close to the shed we realized the old guy was down there smoking the lamp again. A small, long fleshy tentacle shot up and wrapped around the shed, then crushed it. Several other tentacles shot up from the ground, trying to grab us. We ran away from them and got inside the house. We ended up throwing armfuls of shotgun shells down into the cellar, then eventually throwing down a road flare. It blew the fuck up and the ground caved in on the cellar, only leaving a small crater in the ground where the shed had been.
Another extremely long dream last night. Not a fun one this time. I remember that before the dream even started, I thought to myself, "What's the creepiest interpretation of the flying monkeys in the wizard of oz?" So guess what I dreampt about. Fucking 6'4'' monkey things that were basically white skin on bone with bright blue eyes, and would take you away to be experimented on for crazy genetic research and stuff. And at one point in a dream a penis came out of a sink and tried to eat me. But before this I had a nice dream about driving home, bringing back memories of a sort of hub in my dream world, centered around a small freeway entrace-intersection sort of thing. It's an extremely pleasant area. It differs from reality in one way; driving along this road there are usually buildings to your right. In the dream, there are two freeways that branch off almost infinitely as they go.
Had a kicking rad dream last night. Condensed version: First of all, I was a superhero. My father died, but came back as a ghost. I asked him why he died. He said he died in a car crash while driving through a park called Ezelweiss. Then he helped me fight my arch enemy (all superheros gotta have one) in a huge war that spanned both ground and space and I eventually won. As a helicopter landed in front of me to pick me up I became incredibly happy about finally achieving peace (and my ghostly father left after guiding me to victory) and I woke up with a tear of happiness rolling down my cheek.
WILD planning -Set alarm clock to wake up after 4hours and 30 minutes -Start WILD with counting -????? -Reality Check -Probably failure.
That attitude will surely get you places.

I had my first lucid dream last night. It was my birthday, and I thought to myself that being my birthday happens quite alot in my dreams, so it must be a dreamsign. (Which is odd, because I have never had a birthday in a dream before!) As I thought this I realized that I was in a dream. Suddenly I was in a rectangular room with walls of brick. I wanted to read a book I have laying around, and suddenly I was holding it. I wanted to read it to see what my brain would do about the pages I haven't read. But before I got to read it the dream started fading. I didn't remember any methods to keep the dream from fading, so instead I planned to do a DEILD when I woke up. Appearently it was a false awakening, but I lost all lucidity. I didn't do a DEILD, and I checked the clock. The time was in the middle of the night before I went to bed, but I didn't wonder about it. and I could hear the radio from the living room.
Had a lucid last night. MILD this time. Was at my old school playing basketball and then realized that it's a dream, but I kept playing because it was fun
I had the coolest dream. I closed my eyes as my body fell away from it's physical shell, into the world of dreams. I awoke in a field, populated only by a giant tree, and some hills. I examine my hands. They're cubic. Suddenly, over the hill, I hear some thumping. Then... It appeared. A single pony. Grotesque in it's appearance, it had claws, giant legs, and venomous fangs. All I could think about was my hatred for them, when, in my hand, a diamond sword appeared. "Fuck yes." I ran towards it and sliced it up as more came over the hill. I fought them too, splitting skulls, lopping limbs, the battlefield being covered slowly in corpses and blood. I kneed one of them into the air, and was about to snap it's neck, when it fired it's horn at me. I dodged it, and split the beast in two. Suddenly, a chest pain. I look down. Horn stuck me through the back, into the heart. More come over the hill, flooding. I start laughing as I pull the thing out, my wound closing back up. "You just don't get it." My shoulders had obtained large red shoulder plates. "My hatred for you and your kind... Extends even here, to my dreams." More red armor appeared, and soon, I was in a full red space marine outfit. "The only path for you is death!" Twin bolters appeared, as I shot the battlefield, the entire field burning ablaze, the screams of tortured souls ringing out like a chime. The fire consumed my vision as I took glee in their misfortune... Then I woke up. It was pretty sweet, in all honesty.

Had a dream last night about my school, but with only the interiors of the rooms altered. The rest was more or less accurate. Also there was someone in the dream who I have a desire to have a relationship with, but that's not relevant. Then I started having a dream about i300 and salty peanut's team effort to contact notch for some reason, but I was woken up by five people loudly conversing about Gone With the Wind drinking games.
Does anyone wake up and remember a dream, then ask yourself why you never realized it was a dream?
I almost got lucid tonight. I tried a half-assed MILD, and in my dream I thought "this is a dream" I did a reality check which proved it, but as soon as I did, my vision doubled. Like when you cross you eyes. It was really hard to focus and I just woke up :<
still cant get a fucking lucid. fuck. if i do get a lucid, is it a good idea to summon my subconcious?
Does anyone wake up and remember a dream, then ask yourself why you never realized it was a dream?
The other day I said aloud "Hang on a minute, my stairs aren't a hidden fourth dimension that is actually a shelf with all my stuff on it"
Does anyone wake up and remember a dream, then ask yourself why you never realized it was a dream?
holy shit this so much. I had a dream that i was in an argument with someone over texts, and as soon as i got up I looked at my phone and nothing changed and then realized it was a dream and got pissed.
so most of the time that I do reality checks, I'm pretty much certain that I'm awake, because it's normally in the middle of the day and I have memories of everything that lead up to that moment so far, whereas in a dream you start in the middle of things. but I've always wondered what it would be like if one of your random reality checks failed, and you suddenly found out your entire day was a dream that would blow my mind [editline]28th November 2011[/editline] so most of the time that I do reality checks, I'm pretty much certain that I'm awake, because it's normally in the middle of the day and I have memories of everything that lead up to that moment so far, whereas in a dream you start in the middle of things. but I've always wondered what it would be like if one of your random reality checks failed, and you suddenly found out your entire day was a dream that would blow my mind [editline]28th November 2011[/editline] so most of the time that I do reality checks, I'm pretty much certain that I'm awake, because it's normally in the middle of the day and I have memories of everything that lead up to that moment so far, whereas in a dream you start in the middle of things. but I've always wondered what it would be like if one of your random reality checks failed, and you suddenly found out your entire day was a dream that would blow my mind [editline]28th November 2011[/editline] woah holy shit facepunch [editline]28th November 2011[/editline] woah holy shit facepunch
How long does the process of doing WILD from laying in bed to LDing go? I've read somewhere where it's 4-5 hours or more. :v:
So, I did a reality check randomly in my dream last night. But not only did the RC pass but I woke up after doing it. That's the second time I've done a RC in a dream, the same thing happened last time. I can't tell if it's passing because I feel myself do it in real life or what.
How long does the process of doing WILD from laying in bed to LDing go? In your head, it feels like 15 minutes or so. Realistically, it's about 30 minutes. Not too bad.

I had like 4 dreams tonight, and one of them was just sitting there watching a movie that I invented, and then rewinding the movie and watching the beginning again (and it was very accurate the second time through)

And when doing it, make use of your senses as well so check your surroundings, think about the place you're in at that very moment and just try to be aware. What do you smell? How does touching that table feel? What can you hear? etc
Well the problem is that as soon as I do the RC I get booted out, so there is no time to think or feel.
Had a dream about joining the Dark Brotherhood and driving an old sedan with reigns. I kept spinning out while driving. A friend of mine got a book about interpreting dreams, so I asked him about it. Apparently, it means I feel that events in my life are out of my control, which is actually accurate.
