I honestly don't think I've ever gotten a lucid from MILD, DILD, WILD (came close), or any of the other _ILD's. Most, if not all of them have come by realizing it while in a dream. Not RC's either, in fact, I've tried RC's in dreams when I'm already lucid, and they didn't work too well.
DILD = dream induced lucid dream? Most of the time I just randomly go lucid, I've only done it by RC twice
Oh wow. Had a WILD. This one was different though. I rose from my bed as usual, and noticed a skeleton coming out of my closet. Two other people appeared, the skeleton was put in a chest and covered in chains. One of the people was a witch, and the other was a man. This all happened in my room. The witch then teleported me to the actual lucid.
I found myself in a large bathtub, filled with bubbles. A good old bubble bath. I got out of the bath, the bathtub flipped and the water splashed everywhere, and stepped outside the room, and realized that I was in a 1920s hotel. The music was old, the clothes people were wearing were old, it was exactly like in those times in some fancy hotel/restaurant. And I realized I had put on no clothes after getting off the bath, but I didn't care, it was a dream. I went around showing my dick to people for fun and their reactions were amusing.
The dream then became non-lucid, and I ended up escaping from a gigantic (50 metres tall) white humanoid monster thing that kept smashing through walls and walking slowly, I got away from it and woke up relieved.
I was in a dream and my sister (in the dream) told me I was dreaming
I became lucid and was like "oh yeah... I knew that pfft"
but that's pretty cool, my subconscious actually told me I was dreaming

ah.
I had forgotten what they meant. Disregard what I said earlier.

K texted me in a dream once telling me I was lucid.
At the bus today, I was listening to my ipod and dozing off. It's so weird to fall asleep while listening to music because there is always one point where I'm just about to fall asleep and the music becomes inaudible. A moment later I wake up and it just fades right back in where it was and it's as if it just stopped for a moment :v:
Today something else happened too. I must have fallen asleep for real and been thrown right into a dream that was identical to the situation in real life. I pressed pause on my ipod, but when I noticed that the music didn't stop I woke up in the exact same position EXCEPT for that my thumb wasn't on the pause button. I was really surprised so I thought I'd share it :v:
Edit: Did any of that even make sense? o_O
Woke up in laughter last night. In my dream, I was at a big gymnastics hall with a bunch of people sitting on chairs, and I checked them out. One of them had gigantic beaver front teeth and wore extremely nerdy glasses, I burst out laughing and woke up from it and probably woke up my sister in the room next to mine.
I was trying to WILD and I started to feel like I was floating away from my body and lights started flashing in front of my eyes. I also felt totally numb. Then my heartrate when way up and I could hear it and feel it on the bed and I jerked awake.
Was I close?
we did some dream analysis in psych today and I've concluded that it's complete and utter bullshit
all of it
theres no meaning in our dreams, and if there is, its impossible for us to figure out, because we just think of what we want it to mean
So, to do a WILD, I have to wake up after 6 hours of sleeping using an alarm, then try to stay awake yet make my body sleep?
Had a lot of dreams last night.
A dream where I was at school at a large celebration thing where loads of food was served. I took a lot on my plate, sat down on a table and woke up right before eating anything. Fuck.
And a dream where I was at the same school and met up with my old classmates.
And this other dream where me and some guy were trying to defeat a demon who wanted our magical ring.
And a dream where I was fighting in a massive aerial battle.
And a dream where my sister had written a letter about cats and parsley.
I had a cool dream that actually had a storyline to it, and it was LONG. I think my recall is improving.
I had a dream where I was in an accident (I didn't experience the accident in the dream) and then I had to get heart and face surgery.
After being put under, I visualized being in a new body, and it worked. I actually thought to myself, "Oh, making myself a new body is sort of like lucid dreaming." (WHY THE HELL DIDN'T I GO LUCID THEN??!?!?!)
I drove to the place where the surgery was being done (In the middle of a field) and went towards the operating room.
Suddenly I was in my house and the operating room was in my brother's room. I barged in, and then suddenly had the fear that the surgeon would cut me with the butcher knife he was holding (a legit surgery tool).
When I spoke "I am Joshua (last name)!" I had a really deep voice. I ran into my bathroom and looked in the mirror, and I had bandages all over my face and I looked like Mr. Fredrikson from UP. I realized I was from the future.
Suddenly, the other Josh came out of surgery and walked into the bathroom. I looked back at the mirror, and suddenly I was the normal Josh. I ran after the other Josh into my parents bedroom.
We were both holding pillows with tiny stars stiched on them. The other Josh was shrinking and screaming with a higher and higher voice as stars fell off his pillow, and I was too. There couldn't be two Joshes. I realized what had to be done.
I ripped all the stars off my pillow and threw it down. I died and woke up.
holy shit I didn't remember my dreams at all last night until I read one of rusty's posts about the human centipede, and suddenly it all came back to me
Every time I try to WILD, I fuck it up and go into paralysis.
Instead, i'm trying to remember my dreams better, so I can enter lucid dreams another way; however, over the past month, I've only been able to remember two. Any tips for remembering dreams?
I had a long dream about my laptop being infected by a very aggressive virus and I had to get rid of it, after a while I said "Fuck this shit" and woke up.

brb reading encyclopedia all 12 editions to remember my dreams
Two lucid dreams last night (MILD). Also some other dreams. Spent the two lucids doing sexual harassment :v: Second one was much longer than the first.
The first normal dream was with me participating in a running contest around a track, and it was pretty fun. I took first place.
In the second dream, me and my uncle were in a car, I was driving. We were on a road trip to Britain. It was a really cool dream, so many sights to see. Once we reached Britain I had to switch my car to the wrong side of the road, silly English laws. Soon after we ended up going to Iceland, and there we saw a sign "8km to Indonesia" so we went there. We passed great mountains and huge waterfalls.
In Indonesia, I saw a bar. We both went inside and I ordered a shot of whiskey and the "bar's special tart" which was a small pastry filled with whipped cream and berries. It cost 50€.
The bar's owner left and ran to a nearby hill, where he met up with some guerrillas who outfitted two cars with miniguns and rocket launchers. They came back together and told us that we were hostages.
The bar was at the edge of a lake. Two helicopters came flying towards us on the lake, they wanted to save us from the Indonesian guerrillas. The bartender said "Minigun #1, aim and fire!" One of the miniguns turned and started blasting the helicopters, I saw the co-pilot take a hit and die, and the helicopters also fired at the guerrillas. Both helicopters ended up crashing in the lake and one of the minigun jeeps was destroyed.
Then one of the guerrillas shouted, "Is that a P-51?" I looked at the sky and there was a P-51 fighting with a jet aircraft, it was really vivid too like the rest of the dream. They did loops and turns and scissors and barrel rolls trying to shoot eachother down, eventually the jet fighter (looked like a P-38 with jets instead of propellors) managed to shoot the P-51 as it stalled.
And I woke up.
All your dreams always sound so awesome, I'm jealous.

Any dream where a P-51 dies is a bad dream.
I had a dream in which I woke up in a castle, walked outside to a heavily gated field, and found a basket. In said basket was a giant key. I walked over to a section of fence where a floating skull and troll like creature were awaiting me. "Someone likes you." The troll commented as I put the key into the hedge and opened it like a door. I stepped through to a mausoleum. I saw lots of open tombs, and others that had weird symbols on them which weren't. "He's been researching how to open them." The skull commented. "With each one he grows stronger. You need to hurry." So I arrive at a sloped graveyard. Open tombs everywhere. There was a man with a giant hammer (think thor) surrounded by purple lightning. "He's turned on his resonic radar! Run!" The skull said. I ran as fast as I could, when suddenly, the man shot his lightning field towards me, hitting me pretty hard. It hurt a good deal, but I shrugged it off, ran over tombstones, and started fighting him with spells and kung fu. Eventually, I wound up knocking him onto his back. "You did it!" The skull said. Suddenly. the man laughed, pointed a finger... And shot a bolt of ice through my brain. I blacked out, and woke up at my house's driveway. Nobody was there really. I look above me and I see "Level up!" Then I wake up.

theres no meaning in our dreams, and if there is, its impossible for us to figure out, because we just think of what we want it to mean
Technically, you are wrong. Sort of.. The way you're approaching it, you're saying that the possibility that our dreams have some intrinsic meaning placed into them by someone other than us is impossible, which I agree with.
That's not to say there isn't meaning in dreams, however. It is a meaning only relevant to US, generally speaking. But it's a very valid meaning nonetheless. Something born purely of subconscious thought will obviously have a meaning that can only be understood and valued thoroughly by the person that thought it, but dream interpretations as far as symbology and meaning are concerned are widely acknowledged as being accurate and real.
One of the first people to very thoroughly document this is a guy named Carl Jung, and if you know anything about psychology that name should ring a bell. he was a guy who debated a lot with Freud, they both took different stances on a lot of popular topics in the field of psychology. Take the topic of dreams, for example. Freud was of the opinion (like you) that most dreams are born of subconscious thought but are disorganized and do not have meaning, but are simply a way of mental purging between day and night cycles.
Jung, however, took a different stance. He argued (and backed up with VERY thorough experimental evidence) that dreams are not merely a way to purge your thoughts for the sake of mental health, but rather they are a way for you to DEAL with those thoughts for the sake of mental health. (To clarify that, Freud believed that dreams were essentially your subconscious taking out the trash, whereas Jung believed dreams are your way of recycling and reusing thoughts in order to better yourself).
And on the subject of meanings/interpretations, Jung summarizes that very nicely in a book called "Man and his Symbols". If you can find it online, I urge you to read it. Especially the first two chapters. Jung references several studies he had organized as well as extensive notes he had kept as a psychiatrist and presents remarkable evidence that symbolism, especially in dreams, is both common and similar. For example, he references the fact that Shamans (as far back as the Neolithic era [~9500 B.C.) used a dream-like state in order to glean information from the Gods in order to further command their tribes and console them and lead them in certain matters. These trances, Jung argues, are not lies or superstitions. Rather, they were a way to get in touch with the Shamans' unconscious mind in order to view facts in an utterly unbiased way (much similar to the way I view lucidity, as you'll notice if you've spent time in this thread). He also references a LOT of common symbols, such as falling, losing teeth, being chased, etc. Things that have been thoroughly documented over the years as incredibly common scenarios, ALL of them leading back to the same basic emotions. Fear, stress, anxiety. Etc.
So, in conclusion, you are wrong. Technically. While dreams do not have an intrinsic meaning handed down by the gods, they DO have concrete meanings. You might be confusing whether or not those dreams have a MEANING with whether or not you can correctly INTERPRET and APPLY those meanings. But it's been proven (from at least 11,000 years ago, mind you) that every dream has a meaning behind it.
My fingers hurt.

I certainly wouldn't link you to illegal material, but if you search for "Man and His Symbols - Carl G. Jung.pdf" on a certain BAY similar to where PIRATES used to dock their ships, you'll find it. Read chapters 1-2, seriously. It's fucking amazing.

Uh, what? Sure, not all dreams should be taken seriously. Most shouldn't. But to deny that there is any meaning whatsoever in dreams, and furthermore, that there is no way of understanding it... well, sorry, but that's just stupid.
Yes, people largely interpret it the way they want to interpret it. But have you thought that maybe the reason you interpret some things the way you do is because of the subconscious truth?
I mean, okay. Maybe you don't have meaningful dreams. Fine. Just don't assume that other people work the same way you do, because you'd be committing the same errors that those 'dream analysts' you so despise did. Like Freud. It's all penises. Why? Because he assumed everyone else was as obsessed with penises as he was.
So whatever, man. Zin's got it down.
When is the best time of the day to eat bananas/take vitamin b? Like how many hour before you go to bed. Would it also depend on your metabolism?

Last night I had a dream about stabbing my cat, and going about my business as before. I eventually regretted it, but it was too late, my cat died slowly in my arms.
Bad dream :(

I dunno about anyone else but when I recall dreams, I can usually pinpoint at least one event the day before that influenced something in the dream, and it feels like I can do this with pretty good accuracy
It's not a logical thing, much more intuitive, something clicks and I feel "ah yeah, that's probably why"

Hypnagogic hallucinations. Close to a WILD, yes.
i thought hypnagogic imagery were those partial dream-like things
but its just lights? because then I was close to a wild a few times before
Fuck it, i'm going to start this all again, it's been FAR too long and i've forgotten practically everything.
i thought hypnagogic imagery were those partial dream-like things

It can be anything visual or auditory. Some see just lights, some see vivid pictures or hear loud voices. All depends on the person.
I tend to see floating images, can be anything from houses, scenery to people or objects. I never hear voices at the hypnagogic stage, only when going from sleep paralysis to WILD.
A couple of nights ago I was trying to get to sleep early because I'm trying to get my damn sleep schedule back in order. At some point I heard a loud electric crack to the left of me, needless to say it jolted me back to full consciousness. I realized what it was right away, I'm ticked off that I was close to going into sleep paralysis and didn't even realize it until it was too late.
Last night's dream.
First one, I was participating in a car race, and the cars were tiny. The cars ended up transforming like the transformers into robots, it was cool. But our real job was to stop a crazy scientist from turning the entire universe to literal hell. A guy told me the crazy scientist was so fat that he took up 1/3 of the visible universe.
At this point of the dream, there was a segment where we were trying to clone a bunch of alien lifeforms that resembled oranges. We succeeded. This had nothing to do with the rest of the dream.
We hopped in our spaceships and travelled to another solar system to beat the crazy scientist. We landed on a moon of a planet, it had strange trees and the ground was quite dangerous. The planet was visible overhead, hanging up there, it looked beautiful and was vivid.
Suddenly the mad scientist blew up the main star, it turned into a supernova. I saw the planet which hovered on my head start to break up and lava was spewing in space from the cracks, the colour turned from greenish to red. Same started to happen on the moon. This music started playing.

And as it did, the ground cracked everywhere, lava was firing out on the surface with great pressure, the ground shook. One of my crewmates shouted "EVERYONE BACK TO THE SHIP, NOW"
The ship was on a hard to reach hill, we had to jump there. I jumped, but couldn't reach it and fell down again. I tried to jump the second time, didn't work either, but I was so close. Then I woke up.
I wrote in my dream journal.
And then woke up again. FUCK
And then rewrote everything for real this time
[editline]6th December 2011[/editline]
My second dream.
I was fighting Talos, an ancient Greek god. After beating him, I took a stone slab that he had and ran to a forest. In the forest, I was stopped by two guys. Robin Hood and a random guy. They said, "Give me your stuff so I can give it to the poor", but I wasn't going to. I had to fight them off and ended up with an arrow in the arm which I pulled out, it looked nasty.
After this, I put on a scuba suit and full plate armor, and walked to the bottom of a lake, where I found a treasure chest. I surfaced and opened it up, inside was jewelry, a bottle of acid called "King of the Kings", a bottle of rare perfume named after a famous Finnish artist "Akseli Gallen-Kallela" and some coins. Then I woke up.
