Actually, I was asking if it's normal to go through sleep paralysis without any visual hallucinations.
Oh right sorry.
Aw man I had a dream that I got a time machine but I used to to create massive terrorist attacks and shit. I flew this big ol' plane into a local airport and this big number in gold popped up above the corpses detailing how many were killed like a high score.
Actually, I was asking if it's normal to go through sleep paralysis without any visual hallucinations.
It can be, yeah. Usually that's part of the process, but it's not required or guaranteed.
I hate that feeling where you know you had a dream and you're pretty sure it was vivid and cool, but you cant remember it
Well, apparently, the identity bit is not what I thought it would be; nothing to do with me. That aside, one of the tasks I was given for english to do for the next month involves writing for a sub-culture in 3 different types of written text (I'm doing narrative, descriptive and poetry), and I'm thinking I should write about the dreaming community since it pretty much has its own culture. For references, I plan on citing this thread and dreamviews as they're the only places I know that really make Dreaming the centre of attention, essentially forming a culture, along with its own terms and whatever, like anti-sub, spinning, stabilizing, etc. Any suggestions? Oh, and I'd like to ask 1 thing: Why do you people seek lucidity in dreams? I know the answer is obvious but I think you guys perhaps have a deeper/better answer, like how some buddhists lucid dream for inner peace or whatever it is they do.
I'm in it for the skies.
I finally experienced sleep paralysis for the first time! Or just maybe. Was almost dozing off, when suddenly I felt like my face and neck and possibly body was covered in something like a thin forcefield. Within my closed eyes I saw a tunnel which I was going through, looked like the wormhole animation from Stargate or the wormhole from that one movie I saw ages ago. It was very dim, like I was only barely in sleep paralysis. I tried to keep calm but I edventually failed. It was an awesome experience though. Another step towards WILD.

Speaking with an incarnation of one's subconscious must be the ultimate form of obtaining self-insight.

Self doubt, laziness (havent fixed that yet), phobias... It's also to have a great deal of fun. Being able to control all facets of a world you're in gives one a huge feeling of power. It's also interesting to see what your mind whips up when you've set it loose.
I want to ask my subconscious a few things, and I want to play out some specific scenarios and after that I just want to dick around
I want to get to know myself better, learn what my fears and goals are, see what I truly want in life. Is it all possible, I don't know, but I will try to learn as much as I can. Also, who wouldn't want to be able to do and feel anything they can think of?
I had a dream a couple days ago. I was at school, having a test. Except I never received one. After awhile, I noticed the school looked nothing like it did minutes before. And when I realized that it wasn't my school, somehow I woke up.
I had a lucid dream a while ago. I was in my bed and I did a randon RC. I tried all kinds of stablization techniques, but I somehow knew it would end soon. I said "I might as well check out the mirror". I ran across the hallway into my bathroom and looked in the mirror and saw myself looking back at me, but I had a black eye (as if I was just in a fight.) every time I look in the mirror in a dream, I'm always myself with either strange clothes or slight alterations. What's so scary about mirrors?
i had a dream that i told my parents i was athiest and that they kicked me out of the house and wouldnt let me explain myself.

I have'nt tried it yet, but I've read that it can help you understand things about better.
I had a dream last night, and all I can remember is.... Boots. That's it. Boots. Nothing else, just boots. What is wrong with me.
I had a dream last night, and all I can remember is.... Boots. That's it. Boots. Nothing else, just boots. What is wrong with me.
I'm sorry. You've caught the gay.
12 hours later, I just realised I had a lucid dream last night. I was at school doing something, when a few people came up to me and told me to reality check. I held my nose and was still able to breathe. I got excited and felt the dream ending already, so I started rubbing my hands together to try and keep it intact. Too bad that's the last I remember of it. :tinfoil:

I've never had problems that would subconsciously affect me. I don't even have nightmares either. I do have a question though. Why is it that I plan to do something in a lucid dream, but when I finally get one, all I think about doing is flying? I've only been able to carry out one plan ever.
So I just had my first lucid dream last night, I didn't do much, just realized I was in a dream, freaked out, nearly woke up but managed to stay asleep, and then flew out my window and flew around my town. It was fucking awesome, but now I can't seem to remember waking up today, maybe I'm dreaming right now :v: [editline]7th January 2012[/editline]
I do have a question though. I dreamt my mom had found out I'd been smoking (which I had the night before) again and she went apeshit on me. It's probably not a good thing that many of my dreams reflect my guilty conscious. I learn a lot about myself through dreams. [editline]8th January 2012[/editline] Also, I have a reoccurring dream once every few months about me being out in my back yard or in my neighborhood walking around in grassy areas and noticing tons of snakes around my feet. I hate snakes, but I have no clue what triggers this. I read somewhere that it has to do with penises, wtf?
I had a cool dream a few nights ago. I came across this cool, 80s-futuristic handheld device that let whoever was using it limited access the fourth dimension. This let me do a whole lot of cool things. I could read indecipherable texts that were actually plain and simple, slow and stop time, have extra arms when I needed them, and have Jude Law as a side kick :v:
3 out of the 51025981250 times I screw a girl in my dreams, I actually finish. One time I even started dating her in my dreams. Felt like a month. Yeah, I fuck before I kiss in my dreams because I'm a badass.

I absolutely love flying in my dreams~ [editline]8th January 2012[/editline]
3 out of the 51025981250 times I screw a girl in my dreams, I actually finish.
Try speaking with your subconscious. I have'nt tried it yet, but I've read that it can help you understand things about better.
Well I haven't even had a lucid yet, first things first.
Well I haven't even had a lucid yet, first things first.

How do I talk to my subconscious Now this is tough. There's two ways, both of them possibly being affected by placebos. I'll explain these two ways -Go lucid and summon it -Ideomotor response: Get a pendulum (something like what the hypnotist use for hypnotizing), try moving it with your mind and try really hard. When it moves, thats because your subconscious did that. Now set some rules and start asking away. Note that there are only 2 answers: yes, and no.
The subconscious can also talk to you by -Music in your head. -Gut feelings Just note that it is always good to remember that your subconscious is you.
[sp]Sometimes, I wonder who actually reads the OP.[/sp] Any ways, if anyone's interested, I typing out my dream journals into dream views. Here's the link: http://www.dreamviews.com/members/deadvanitan/ I'm still a long way from finishing it just so you guys know.
