Remind me not to hangout at the Skatepark with my camera. I've been being harassed on Facebook to post the pictures I did of them and some kids are getting pretty pissed about it. It would be one thing if I was compensated for the pictures I did of them, but I was there practicing shots of moving things for next Saturday. Not there for them in particular, except for my buddy Connor.
I don't bring my camera to events and stuff for that reason. I hardly ever upload pictures to Facebook, only around 10 a month. Not about to have a bunch of random pictures for people to tag themselves in
Im going to the Dragstrip by my house Saturday, so I rode to the skatepark with my buddy to get some practice at capturing moving things. I got bombarded with either, 1) Film me doing this. 2) Can you get a picture of me nollie 360 double cheeseburgering this squiggle over here. I have no idea what the hell these kids where saying.

Happens to me all the time on the slope when I'm snowboarding and recording...

every now and again I get a message on facebook from some guy asking about pictures I took of him and my friend playing ultimate frisbee on a baseball field like a year and a half ago
Right, I don't always want my name attached to photos or even videos I don't care for if I'm just out snapping, either.

This more than anything.
does anyone else here name their cameras? i call my zenit "hammer", my t3 "smile", my ae-1p "grandpa", and I don't really have names for my others yet.
I tend to call my Canon F-1 "Brass Beast".
The only camera I've given a name to was "Big Birther" this old large format thing from the 20's that was given to my boss from someone who was otherwise going to throw it out.

"doof" means "stupid" in German. Funny.
"doof" means "stupid" in German. Funny.
That's bizarre, because doofs are far from stupid and are the most fun you'll have on 2 legs
I hope you don't misunderstand me, I didn't want to hint at that it just is a funny thing you may smile about.
By the way hat is a doof ?
I named my sony a77
"Sony a77"
I guess I'm not very creative. I have started calling my minolt 9xi grandpa now though

Kinda a psychedelic dance party in the bush.
Fucking hippies.

Oh you mean those super duper hipster parties where the main hipsters hunk diesel generators, lights, drinks and decoration into the greens and celebrate their alternativeness by blasting loud as fuck minimal and other electronica and generator exhausts into the green?
Yeah we have these too they are a trend all over the world right now, been to a few.
I'm sorry if I sound negative. I just can't see it any different.
Edited: I mean the experience and parties are pretty rad, but it's just that when you see the context when it gets shit: Massive power generators for the music/lights. Massive noise in the middle of before untouched nature(because doing it in a park would not be possible). Masssive amounts of trash the next morning that is SOMETIMES cleaned (depends on the guys who organize it) but more than often it is not. Drinks sold without any taxes whatsoever.
Of course this is what I experienced with this kind of party, yours may be totally different in which case please don't let my rant dilute your experience I just now realize how much I am ranting here I had to get it out somewhere the ignorance of those party in the woods hipsters just angers me. End.
I'm sorry.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, except hipster is far from the word I'd use to describe the guys who run and/or go to them.
And generally we're pretty good at our parties to remove all the rubbish, coz we've been getting clearance to be at the locations we've been at recently, so if we left it dirty as fuck then it'd be back to completely underground illegal parties.

Is it worth investing in a kit to develop my own film if I'm going to be scanning the negatives with a regular scanner?
Is it worth investing in a kit to develop my own film if I'm going to be scanning the negatives with a regular scanner?
The developing of the film shouldn't be the thing that costs you the most, that comes from the printing, but if you're going to scan your own film and have access to a room that you can use to turn into a darkroom, then I'm sure you can do that, you'll also need to make sure the room has a basin and whatnot for all of the developing.

I'd say if you shoot b/w film a lot then you could go for it. The chemicals are too expensive if you just shoot and develop every once and a while. Unless you are making prints, you don't really need a darkroom. Just get a changing bag for easy film loading.
It's pretty fun to do and very cool to see your homebrew pictures afterwards
So it's worth it if you shoot and develop regularly
So this one is big for me

The top photo in the article is a picture of mine, I got published in the local paper. Like so excited :D
Is that the same girl with the scary elbow range of motion? Congrats man! :D
Haha yes it is :P but thank you, I have to thank her for the paper publishing her and that she chose to use one of my photos, but I'm just happy to be ran through at all
Just wondering, do any of you here have negative dreams about cameras/photos often? Things happening like:
*Not being able to capture the moment
*Not having your camera with you
*Camera malfunctioning
I have dreams that I get better lenses and I wake up with the same ones. Kind of sad really
I need to start bringing my camera everywhere. I miss so many opportunities. Today it was awesome, thick fog. I was so mad.
