Do you go to an normal college? Or an art school?
Normal college
Our school churns out photo/video interns and that's about it
Well. This is depressing.

just find a school that's a good balance of regular and specialized. if anything just double major with a film/video and then something to fall back on. I did a photo minor and a psychology major, hoping to get a job in a psychology related field (really hoping to work for the FBI doing photography and profiling), that way if photo becomes unrealistic it's not the only thing i am capable of doing. since a photo minor from NAU really is basically worthless.
That's the thing, there's not much else I like to do. Other than computer/technology stuff. Fuck networking shit though, that shit gets too confusing.
That's the nice thing about college, a lot of requirements make you try a bunch of different stuff, it can definitely be a place where you find out what you like to do as opposed to going in knowing what you want. Things like graphic design, sound design, programming, and business could be some related but interesting stuff. But I'm sure you can find something :) just be open minded

computing science?

Art school is one hell of a drug.
computing science?
I don't even know what that consists of. I might try out some programming. I've always wanted to learn but never had the time/attention to sit down and learn.

computing science is basically about the theory of how computers work and what exactly they are
programming is part of it, but it also includes other stuff like the abstract algebra behind it all, what programming languages are, how algorithms are constructed, etc
i guess you could (soft of) say that computing science is to software engineering what physics is to mechanical/electrical/etc engineering
That's a really nice analogy.
Hey guys, I have to do an essay on a contemporary photographers image, analyzing it and refering to how it's inspired by previous photographers through history.
But the problem is, I have no fucking idea about any contemporary photographers (the image has to be from 2012)
anyone help me out with some names? (preferably big names)

Agreed. In the UK I'm doing a mixed media course, so I can do pretty much anything creative except fine art wrok such as painting and sculpture. Doing something as broad as possible makes you more useful and ultimately increases your chances of getting a job. Everyone wants a job in photography, so aim for that if you want to but verse yourself in other things as well, art or not.

that's awesome
i wonder if an ostrich egg would be a good candidate for the pinhole camera idea, since ostrich eggs are bigger and stronger

I'm sure it is. Covering the larger egg would probably take more time though.

Jake Stangel
+ In a few of his interviews I believe he rattles off some older photogs that inspired him.

Aren't they a dark colour too? Would help protect the emulsion from unwanted exposure.
My friend just made this

No one hates NDT, it just gets old after the 8 millionth time he's been quoted with some inspirational graphics. It's an agreeable piece of information, I get it.
Didn't call you a reddit whore either, was implying that about your friend.
I'd like to follow up this video with an animation of Carl Sagan's "The Pale Blue Dot." I've begun work on it, and It would help me so much if you subscribed. The messages of modern thinkers need to be shared with everyone on this small planet. We know that we're capable of spreading media to the masses, soaring view counts up to 900,000,000! (Gangnam style) But I* believe that wise words need a larger audience.
Yeah, he is. Obsessed with Segan ever since he saw the Pale blue dot and talking about space and what not all the time. I see where he's coming from, I like it as well but he just circlejerks it
