ur tumblr is awesome lookin dai good stuffff
I was super tired or something and found someone with that square thing so I stole it and passed out. Forgot it existed til now and the default colors (or did I choose them?) are balls
I can't hold a theme for more than a week before realizing it's terrible and the default wall is the way to go and nobody visits your actual page ever, but then I see a cool them and it all starts over

what's your thoughts
It's a bit too much "look how professional I am".
Don't get me wrong but to me all of the text and the content sounds a bit like someone who's in the buisiness for 20 years would write and yet your stuff is albeit well done, not really spectacular and that radiates a certain ... snobby smell.

And first and foremost I'd like you to do something less..commonly trivial.
Maybe a documentary or something. Just so you get a bit out of the "super dramatic rich suburb stories" stuff.
You got the tools and tricks down but the content reeks of "teen"
I have up tumblr themes when I realized no one looks at it so whatever. All I post is weird text anyways
My cargocollective though I love, my theme is simple but I like how it looks
What is a Cargocollective and how can I get one?
It looks like a normal ole' gallery sort of thing. What's so special 'bout it?
I think I remember bopie submitting a portfolio to get accepted for one or something crazy. Was it in beta or am I just remembering like three stories in one big ball
It's just an easy to use free hosting page. I use it to host my portfolio, and it's easy to work with and has great URL's
But yes they have applications for approval, or you can invite people if you already have one. You get 5 invites once you have one.
This reminds me, I need to make a portfolio but I have no idea where to start. Got a domain name and hosting ready to go. Just have to decide if I want to use something like wordpress or make my own html or what...
holy shit, i'm slow. when did they come out with the EOS 6D? also, is this an attempt at making an full-frame entry-level DSLR?

Cargocollective is great for that. HTML is very easy to write in it and it has a lot of helpful forums. Much easier than anything else, we had a portfolio assignment in one of my photo classes and it seemed I had the least amount of work using that as opposed to anything else.

It's more of their attempt to release a 5d mk2 lite and sell it for more than that camera. The size is nice, sensor is good, and wifi is cool, but it's not a well adept camera for the price in terms of everything except full frame. The mk2 is a better buy.
Can someone please send me an invite to cargo collective if they have any spare they'd like to donate? (if you don't ask, you won't receive and all that)
http://www.tomraworthphotography.com/ < this my cargo collective portfolio really easy to use website
whenever we have lectures from photographers at college they always seem to have cargo collective portfolio's
If I had to build a portfolio I'd probably sort it by emotion.
I know it's not the professional thing to do but to me and in my head my pictures are sorted that way and I always do it when I'm, say, at a Vernisage.

Also all Cargo collective sites seem to have so damn much empty white space, why is that?

i'm quoting this so i remember it
thank you very much though
the place i'm applying to wants a tv show idea, and i'm proposing a documentary for that, to mix it up a bit from the usual.
I hope I didn't sound too harsh people keep telling me that, I just don't know how to describe it in any other way.

The Ritz/Wolf camera in my area was so close to getting shut down, until someone bought it to keep it open. It's awesome c: brand new developing equipment and all the latest camera gear.
Also, can someone hook me up with a Cargo Collective invite? You guys keep talkin' bout it and I'm jelly :(
Ritz/Wolf died as a whole. the only location around here that's still a camera store was bought by Calumet after it was closed, not as a 'keep alive' thing. probably because it was furnished for their needs. lots of dead buildings with grass showing through the parking lots.
Not a surprise really, I don't think I've ever seen a reasonable price for anything at Jessops, I guess its useful if you need something last minute though.
I would also be very interested in a Cargo Collective invite, it looks really awesome and simple to use, and just had to take down my wordpress based website due to being slow and broken :(
Jessops was for people who walk in and go "I don't know anything about photography, I didn't do any research myself, give me a camera, I have a wad of cash".
Looks like invites are needed all around! I would love one as well! I will search for another source if we're short here. I'll report back.
I may be interested but need time to update my portfolio before I take up an invite
a lotta time

and you guys get 5 invites when you claim yours, so if you need any more you could always ask the 4 new members
Is cargo collective the tumblr for cool kids?
it's just easy to make a portfolio on. in my class we talked about all these different hosting sites for this kind of thing, stuff like wix, wordpress, tumblr, etc... and i used this place and it was incredibly easier to use, and gave me an easy URL to boot. so for free portfolio sites it's pretty much the best out there, and if you want to upgrade to your own domain from your cargo account it's really easy. i'm very happy with the service.
