i think the only thing i've ever gotten close to considering as a decent tattoo idea was Euler's identity
If I were to get anything photo related, it would be a red ring on my wrist, but who knows what will happen in the future, there could be some reason that I ditch Canon for some other brand or something etc. I've always had this idea that my own tattoos should function more like jewelry than literal images.
Another one I considered were Mugen's blue rings on wrists and ankles, but the meaning behind it in feudal Japan was ex-con/outlaw and it would feel like some silly anime fandom over something actually relevant to me personally.
Get a triangle.
Thanks for the idea mate, just got back from the parlor!

Honestly I'm just hoping he's not a "that guy", but it looks like that's not much of a problem. I mean, he runs these workshops, he's won a couple awards, there's hardly any gear-whoring, at some point he had a gallery too...can't exactly do all that without at least some skill :v:
I really do need some lessons in composition and subject matter too, I'm hopeless with that stuff. This might be a good opportunity.
I would get a music related tattoo for my favourite band Justice, but I can see it being taken differently by people who haven't heard of my passion for the duo.

Nothing lasts forever so maybe all of my tattoos of nothing are the most timeless and meaningful tattoo ever?

Justice are so schweeeeet live man
Justice is a great band.
Do any of you guys use 500px?
I just started using it and I must say I think I like it more than flickr.

Saw them live January 6th 2012 in Melbourne, was in the first crowd to ever see the On'n'On Edit/Phantom Pt. 2 Soulwax Encore.
oooooo sounds good man!! I've seem them about 3 times because they play Leeds festival most years and I've been my fair share of times
Hey folks! Not sure if this is the best place to ask but I'm gonna go for it.
I just unwrapped my Nikon D5100 today. Having never used a legit camera like this it's taken some getting used to but I'm getting the hang of it. I've been recording some movies and editing them in Final Cut Pro 7. But when rendered, certain parts will become glitchy: they will just be grey screen, some will just jumble, and some will briefly flash back a few frames, if you get what I mean.
My question is this: can anyone tell me what's wrong with my Camera/ Editing Software/Rendering that's doing this? Thanks!!
I don't feel like theres much that i'd put onto my skin that i'd not get tired of. however this year when i return to the USA to see bopie, i plan to commit to something relating to america/photography in one, and get a tattoo when I'm out there. Not something like a bald eagle with a pentax round its neck, but something minimalist and tasteful that means a lot.

import files off camera into your hard drive
load up compressor
drop them in
convert to ProRes 422, export
drop the prores into FCP7
cut
render
see how it looks then
Where could I find a good converter for converting files to ProRes 422?
Graduating this year and I'm still conflicted on which college to attend. For me, my choices are SDSU, CSU Long Beach, and perhaps Brooks Institute of Photo.
SDSU is right at home (half an hour from my home) for me and the best thing I found most interesting was a journalism degree and I also have guaranteed admission into it.
CSU long beach is about two hours away and I find it nice that it'd be a good to explore a new area. But I don't know if I'm accepted until next month. Oh and the degree i'd get into is journalism as well.
As for Brooks, I found it seemingly perfect for what I want to do. They have a visual journalism degree which is the most interesting thing (I've been wanting to be a photojournalist for quite sometime.). But I've heard VERY mixed things about the place. (Too expensive, promising students to get jobs right when they graduate.) But I've also read that some good photogs graduated from there.
So pretty much, I'm still thinking about it. Likely, I'm going to SDSU but still considering Brooks. I'm just afraid that I'll end up not liking whatever college I go to and just drop it, wasting money..
What do you guys think?
Be weary about a journalism degree, it's not quite what it used to be. My friend Melissa was going for one but switched her major her third year of college. Most of the classes are oriented around online writing, blogging, and writing for Facebook. There are entire classes dedicated to Facebook writing.

you should have got compressor with FCP 7

Oh wow
I believe her breaking point was the twitter class which was mandatory for the major. Now she's bio/criminal justice double major. Kind of a complete turn around if you ask me. She hasn't had a good thing to say about it at all.
I've personally gone for a photo minor as I thought it would be interesting, but its not at all. Pretty much all the classes try and teach you how to bullshit your way to pretending you are good, how unlikely it is you will get a job, a huge emphasis on stock photography, and a bunch of shitty unrelated classes like grammar and public speaking. If I wasn't so dep into the minor I would have dropped it, a fucking complete waste of time and money.
I've heard bad things about Brooks. You should study somewhere where photo isn't the only thing going on.
"I would very much advise studying a well-rounded group of subjects in college, stay aware of what’s going on around you, cause there’s alot more than photography in this world." - Jake S.
I could not agree more with that. I have taken a well rounded assortment of subjects in college (psychology, sociology, philosophy, writing, communications, media and film, art history, women gender studies, computer sciences, criminal justice, photography, and probably a couple more) but I must say photography felt the least valuable to me. A lot of the other courses shaped my knowledge, beliefs, and behaviors. Specialized schools seem to really narrow your horizons
Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Conservation.
Booyah.
That sounds like a nifty degree. What do you plan to do with it?
Conserve Wildlife?
haha well i figured that, i just didn't know careers relating to it.
