It was sent under Amazon's Prime service, a free trial to see how good it is. I used it once before and I had no problems. Royal Mail tracking says it was delivered today, but I bet the stupid reception messed up. It was £94 as well, probably just get one in central tomorrow for a bit more as its being refunded in a few days.
that's so weird, i am sorry for your mail loss. losing a package has to be the most disappointing thing in the world
Yeah but it could be worse. I'm content to be getting a refund. Parcel force lost a package (SB-600 £250ish) last year and I got the refund only for the package to arrive about a month later. I contacted support but I was waiting 20 minutes on the phone whilst being charged and email yielded no response, so on ebay it went. NOOT NOOT
I may have said it before but that is really amazing for a highschool video. If you hadn't told me I would n't have known it wasn't a professionally made video especially compared to the competition.
It gets the point across excellently and I really just have nothing but compliments for it
Thanks man. I would hug you if I could. :quagmire:
So we have a school assignment where we are supposed to make something that doesn't look real, but looks natural.
You're supposed to see immediately that it is not real, but it should look like it could have been real.
I was thinking a form of the good ol' bopie float, but I want to make the whole thing more exciting than just a guy floating, so if anyone has any good ideas, feel free to shoot them this way, I really suck at thinking this stuff out myself.
Someone balanced against a ladder doing a handstand of sorts and grabbing onto the grass like gravity reversed. Adding "falling" objects like rocks for +bonus points.
i figured out that i'm really dumb last night
there's a tripod mount on my FD to E mount converter for when i shoot my canon lenses on my nex, and when you don't have the tripod mount screwed in there's two little holes allowing light in to distort the image.
so now i know why i get weird color fringing lol. got to get some electrical tape
Or get a screw... Electrical tape leaves that nasty residue, unless you use the colored ones...
i have one of the screws, but it is very very tiny and i don't know where the other one is, it fell out while using the tripod mount. but electrical tape (or vinyl tape) doesn't leave residue for me, and it's not like i'll move it often.

if it says it was delivered, why did they refund? doesn't your reception keep parcels?
Is there a date for the announcing of the winner of the Winter photography competition?
I would really like to know who has won.
If everything goes like it should, I'll get my D7000 tomorrow

They do. I Got back from a meeting with my course leader at noon and asked if I had post, they said I had nothing. Royal Mail van pulled away from my halls as I was leaving for my 2pm lecture, got back at 5pm and still nothing. My friend had his Windows 7 delivery taken by his neighbours and while it was in his name, they still kept it. He advised calling Amazon as he got a replacement sent out for free. I couldn't get a replacement because it was a marketplace seller.

What?
i have to bring in my photo gear for my photography class tonight, i'm curious what lenses to bring. technically we are supposed to have a DSLR so i have to show why my camera is more than adequate, so i'm bringing a 16mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, 55mm f1.2 (in case of extreme backup to show coolness), a 35mm cctv (to show adaptability), and a 200mm f4. does that cover the bases?

Apart from a mirror and prism, yep.
It's way more than enough, to be honest, you'd have them with just a 50mm f/1.4 :v:.
How long ago did Kodak file bankruptcy? Or did they not do it yet?
How long ago did Kodak file bankruptcy? Or did they not do it yet?
They filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy on January 19, 2012.
shame, I hope they recover
Went to a camera store and the guy offered me a Canon F1 with a 50mm for 105. good or no? I checked eBay and they went for 200+ I think. I wanted to see your guys' input
what kind of 50mm? if it's a 1.4 then maybe, if it's a 1.8 punch him in the face.
also question of the night in my photo class
"I just got a 5d (mkII), can you help me set it to RAW"
It's a 1.8 iirc.

Why would anyone get such an expensive camera, if they don't even know how to use it at all!? Do they think expensive cameras make every photo amazing, no matter what?

hoping it was a gift

punch him in the face
f1's are not as good as AE-1P's, and the 50mm f1.8 is like the cheapest lens ever made. it's not bad, but it shouldn't cost more than $20 EVER. i got my ae-1p at goodwill for $11, and another one at a garage sale for $20
watch this auction it might end in your favor

Alright thanks. :) I know I asked a lot of questions about slrs, hope i didn't get annoying.
it's okay you can always ask me i love SLRs.
Alright, so I'm watching the bid at the moment and it has inc. to 25 bucks. Is there a certain price I should just stop bidding and find a new one? I noticed it's a 50mm 1.4, so I'm assuming it must be somewhat pricey.

a single tear just ran down my cheek
Is it okay to be really against post processing for anything other than brightness and contrast in the photography world? Feel it's like steroids for an athlete, or auto tune for an 'artist'
I watched one youtube video of a guy layering two pictures with different exposures, that was okay I guess, but what ruined it was when he found a stencil image of birds and cropped it into the sky in the top left corner.
I don't know how to imbed :v:

the birds thing is just stupid, but other than that you can edit however you want in my mind. it's your picture, you change change it how you like. i just don't add anything that i didn't take a picture of in that frame.
