Since it's just the body though, Would this work? Also I don't have a credit card or anything so I don't think I would be able to buy it via paypal or something. (sixteen years old) http://www.ebay.com/itm/CANON-FD-50MM-F1-8-SC-LENS-SERIAL-693396-/320801552007?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab1433687#ht_3267wt_1163
Yep any FD or FL will work. I'm not letting it to anyone else so just let me know :)
Odd. Went with my flatmate to the local Jessops as he was about ready to buy his first camera, a NEX-5N. Stood with the Jessops guy to try and figure out how to change ISO in manual, by frig its fiddly but a really solid camera overall. He advised us not to buy it from that shop though as the manager is strict. We wanted to test it for the video clicking before buying. Strange for a small shop to turn away a sale like that.
Finals is finally over. Time to edit and shoot again.

The EF stands for Electronic F(-1), because this camera also has long shuttertimes like 30 seconds that are without the need of a remote release cord with timer. This is the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CANON-EF-35MM-FILM-SLR-50MM-F1-8-LENS-SERIAL-120980-/190623308797?pt=Film_Cameras&hash=item2c6208dbfd Actually, these Canon EF's are scarcer than F-1 camera's and are as well built as the F-1, but it does not have possibility for a winder or exchangable viewfinder. I also have a EF, and the build quality is great and the viewfinder is as good as the F-1 original, but i find the manual mode on this camera a bit awkward because it's really made for Shutter priority mode (lens on A mode and you manually select shutter speed on the camera). Better things about this camera is that it will accept 1.5v PX625 batteries, and you won't need expensive weincells that have 1.3v (the original F1 will need this because otherwise the meter will overexpose, this is possible to adjust though). And ofcourse the built-in 2 to 30 second shutter speed is very nice. Maybe this is a camera to look for because people don't really know that it's rarer than the F1, and ask way less for it. Most of the time they ask about the same as a Canon A1 or even less because it's older.
I've always wanted to get into sports/newsesque photography, anyone know of a good way for me to start?

The video clicking thing is a good idea to check, because i'm not sure if they realized that it clicks in retail yet, but it's a free replacement from sony if it does. it would suck to buy one new like that though
http://winnipeg.olx.ca/nikon-d3-12-1-mp-digital-slr-camera-body-only-iid-220134625 I need some money D:
Why so cheap, its shutter count might be really high.
my camera has passed customs!
What ended up happening with the Winter Photo Contest? Were there not enough entries?
Just got back from Oxford, such a beautiful city. The ultra wide I bought came in really handy, as I got some splendid photos.
i attempted to urbex today but i got in the door and it looked scary so i nearly cried and then i left
i attempted to urbex today but i got in the door and it looked scary so i nearly cried and then i left
Solo urbex? I couldn't do that!
Anyone in the US know what stores sell the batteries for the AE-1 Program? (sorry Trogdon, I found myself a camera:smile:.) Edit: oh shit there was already a battery i had no idea. and looks like im missing the action grip. uh oh.
I did my first legit photo shoot today, earned myself $200 for a few hours of work. We also got some new decent lighting equipment. I've decided I'm going to order one of these as a little gift to myself: http://www.amazon.com/Rokinon-FE8M-C-F3-5-Fisheye-Canon/dp/B002LTXQUE/ref=sr_1_1?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1327702054&sr=1-1
thinking about going more into dslr video, getting a rig and zoom h2 w/mic, but the rode videomic seems sub-par compared to the XLR offerings, but XLR requires more expensive audio equipment. also i have exams the next 2 weeks so i shouldn't be up at 2:16AM looking at fucking juicedlinks

Also I will probably pick up Zoom h2. But I will use it as a Mic instead of using another one connected into it. (for now at least) then I plan on picking up a 50mm 1.4. Then I can make my short film! Oh, and maybe make a homemade jib. I already have a slider and a fig rig, so I'm all set in those departments.

Guys I'm in London right now and there's a yaschica TLR for £80 I can probably get him down to £60, worth it? Need your guys opinions soon as
if you can afford it, go for it
I can't really but if it's an excellent price then I can't turn it down
I've got a yashica-mat tlr where the shutter's stuck. I've been quoted 60 pounds fora repair - which I haven't paid for. It's been about a year and a half. If I haven't paid that money for something so similar, I'd say go for it if you know it works.
buying a zoom h4 yas
Cool thanks man, im gonna leave it for today but I'm gonna look into one for the future. Btw ive used that £43 rig
any sample footage?

He's had to modify it so much as well.
