I forgot which show the guy worked for, but I remember reading an article/interview with someone who wrote for a show like that. Nonsense-tech is like a competition between studios, to see who can get the most bullshit on the air
My grandmas ex husband once said "You can't solve murder crimes in an hour!" while we were watching CSI v:v:v
What really annoys me about CSI is how the scientist/forensic dudes go out to "the field" to catch criminals and shit.
Law and Order is so much better anyway
Totally derailing the topic here, I'm sorry!
So we're starting to work in the Darkroom soon, and I'm super excited, I haven't had the opportunity to work with film at all in terms of developing. Is there anything I should look out for? I'm aware in terms of handling film and exposing light to the paper, but are there any small tips I should know about beforehand?

Don't hurry when handling the film, and turn off your cellphone or anything that could generate unwanted light or sound.
Don't agitate too much when you're developing your negatives. Don't do it too little either.

sound?
A sudden loud noise (read: cellphone ringing) could startle you and make you fuck something up

Just saying, better to prevent than to cure

I don't see that being an issue... I can't really think of anything in the darkroom process that can be fucked by being startled.

Loading film to spool, get startled, massive fingerprint on film
Transferring chemicals, get startled, spill shit everywhere
just turn your phone off okay

after developing 15+ rolls of film with no issues... I'd rather not.

He was more directing it at the guy who actually asked the question.
I'm just saying because the first time we were developing film someone's phone went off and the chick that was loading film to a spool got her fingerprint plastered over like three pictures.
This is obviously no concern for someone who's developed 15 rolls, but someone inexperienced might find it useful.

the first post, yeah, the last post seemed directed at me...
I would apologise for derailing but this is the off-topic thread

just wash your hands before you handle the film, problem solved! finger prints are only a big issue when your hands are all oily (as they naturally are) give them a good wash with some soap and you're good.

Finally got my new camera bag :D. It's the Chrome Niko Bag. Much larger than my original bag. Just went out and used it was able to fit lots of stuff in it.

[sp]then I flipped the switch back to auto focus[/sp]
Battery grip finally came, now i just need to get another battery
Headed downtown today to cover an event my sister volunteered me for
she ended up late to getting ready so we missed the only train that'd get there on time, and now have to drive to the heart of Chicago and pay for a parking garage
on a saturday
Wisconsin and Indiana people will literally give you shit about your driving in a conversation if you say you're from Chicago because they had to drive past the city once on a tuesday morning, there isn't really anything that can prepare you for the mental stress level of rolling through the streets at this time
there's like a 50% chance you'll get flipped over by a taxi with an old train cow catcher welded to the front

Hey guys, I have a question.
So, I tried shooting in raw with my D7000's NEF. files but I can't open them in photoshop. Any idea how to fix it? I've googled and googled, updated photoshop etc. but I can't get it to work.
Anybody have any ideas?
