First time I came home with my camera and said, "Damn, these are sharp."
I just entered a street photography competition with these images:

i hate street photography normally, but i love all of your shots pick. they are so fresh compared to what i see all the time. in my photojournalism class my teacher shows us people all the time, and they are leagues behind what you are currently doing.
trogdon, what school do you go to? I want to study photojournalism :c
Northern Arizona University
So, entering some random small school competition for "Utopia" and I can't think of any photo to pick, however I was thinking one of these;

Sleepy by Red Pan, on Flickr

Rows of Trees by Red Pan, on Flickr

Sunset over Canada by Red Pan, on Flickr
But I think I'm leaning towards the first one, I think its one of my personal favorites, any suggestions?
Gonna have to say the third one.
None of those say "Utopia" to me.
To me Utopia would be somewhere with bright, vibrant colours and LOTS of them!
These sorts of colours makes me think:

And straight lines
Because like, Mirror's Edge and stuff
that one picture from some subway station with TONS OF ORANGE comes to mind.
My friends have organised an Anthropology conference this weekend:
http://www.breakingbubbles.com/
They asked me to photograph the event in exchange for the ticket. Seemed like a fair deal since I was going to both buy a ticket and photograph the event anyway :P
Plus, there's a possibility of Chris Knight staying at my house during the course of the weekend.
None of those say "Utopia" to me.
Yeah I agree, but I don't have time to get another roll of film done with themed photos, the competition ends on the 6th for me, because on the 7th I'm leaving for Europe. Plus its a tiny competition and they basically asked me to enter to motivate others :v: Thanks guys
red definitely enter the subway picture with the orange. it's a perfect fit for the contest

I still have a 'Foton' flash attachment with a bag and manual, bought in 1987. For how much I could sell it, would love to know from you guys?
I don't know much about photography, but why are tripods so expensive? It seems like a lot for a few metal legs.
that's not expensive, it's only £910.99! that's a steal!

what.
yeah i was wondering about that too
do you guys know if its possibly to add photos to a flickr set but not have them appear on your photo stream?
i would like that but i don't think you can
well, you can set them to private; that hides them from other people, and you can still directly link the jpeg
Holy shit my eyes have been opened. Just opened my first raw file in photoshop - so much control over colour.
May this be a start of a good direction for me.
very very probably getting my d3100 today
