oh right you can beat me with sticks now okay
^me too.. so everything would pretty much be in focus and there would be no reason to have focus adjustment?
Correct. This is what makes pinhole cameras so simple.

I'm more worried about the diffraction.
Manfrotto MKC3-H02 - anybody got one? used cosmic ducks and really like it
I now need a business card and a website fuck
COMIC CON TICKETS SAN DIEGO SOLD OUT. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Any suggestions on layout of business cards? Also I'm going to make a cargo collective as my portfolio, do you guys think that's enough and decent enough to put on a business card?
filmed two things recently bengley being an idiot some protestors today
I'm out of film. Ran through 1 & 1/2 rolls at a car show. I know have four rolls to develop. This could be the time where I buy enough to last me a year?
Thanks to a teacher strike, combined with a spring break, I'm free for most of march. Might head up to desolation sound. [sp]After I send off Roll's stuff[/sp]
Holy fucking shit. I was just getting back from photographing the Pagan society firespinning by a hill, and just as I was walking back with my camera stuff packed, a massive fireball meteor streaked across the sky. It lasted for about 10-15 seconds and had fragments breaking off and was easily visible through the clouds as it passed over them. In fucking credible. Serious once in many lifetimes thing. [editline]3rd March 2012[/editline] I got some really great shots from the firespinning though, up on the hillside.
Anyone here ever shot a time lapse of the moon? If so, could you give me some exif info? Because I don't really have any clue at what intervals I should be shooting at. (got a 200mm lens)
i would say just the norm of around 3-4 seconds would suffice?
i would say just the norm of around 3-4 seconds would suffice?
I was thinking something similar, but out of my experiences with the moon, I've realized that it moves pretty god damn fast. So I'm wondering if the images will get blurry because of it. Gonna go out and take some photos and test a little.
If you're exposing for the moon itself, it's deceptively bright. You probably won't need a shutter speed as long as that.
If you're exposing for the moon itself, it's deceptively bright. You probably won't need a shutter speed as long as that.
Which I just realized. Holy crap it is bright. But the problem is that I will be taking pics of it while it's on the horizon, and it will be significantly darker and more reddish. I'm just hoping I can get a good focus on it.

Even worse, the moon will be completely set at 05:50 AM. Oh gawd.
Also I'm going to make a cargo collective as my portfolio, do you guys think that's enough and decent enough to put on a business card?
You could just get a domain and then forward to the cargo portfolio. Then you can put that on your card. ".com" domains are like, what, $10-$15 a year? Or if you mean if the cargo portfolio itself is decent enough, I'd say so, I haven't seen that many, but for example bopie's looks really good.
Thats a good idea, will look more professional then. And i did also, i think i saw bopies a while ago and remembering it was of a superb standard so hopefully i can get mine looking tip top
Is there any way I could get a sharp not bright picture of the moon, and get stars at the same time? Or is that wishful thinking?
Is there any way I could get a sharp not bright picture of the moon, and get stars at the same time? Or is that wishful thinking?
could first take a photo where you expose properly for the moon, then one where you expose for the stars, and just put them together and just cut the right bits in. You'd have to be fast though, because this shit moves about.
i'd say manic wishful thinking without multiple exposures being merged
Well that is out of the question then. I am really starting to reconsider this entire project. Because I know it'll fuck itself up one way or another. I might just as well go there and just take a couple of photos and no time lapse. We'll see.
Any suggestions on layout of business cards? Also I'm going to make a cargo collective as my portfolio, do you guys think that's enough and decent enough to put on a business card?
Don't make it too flashy. Keep it straight and simple.
Don't make it too flashy. Keep it straight and simple.
minimalism works best with corporate things like this
A 2 second interval or a 3-4 second interval? I will be shooting for about 30 minutes.
That's what I meant, your focus would have to be like, nanometrically spot-on
Do you get banned twice a week or something? Holy mother of god....
