I fell asleep lol :v: Postponed it til tonight.
Guys I'm in a bit of a rut :/ I need some classy ideas to photograph; I've been out of it for like a month now and really need to get myself back into things.
Manfrotto MKC3-H02 - anybody got one? used cosmic ducks and really like it
I have the H01. Different head, but it's perfect for my m4/3. Actually have it set up doing a timelapse right now.
Finally set up my 500px site http://500px.com/GabeGatmaitan :toot:
H01 has the same head doesn't it? [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] but black?
Yeah I confused the P02 with the H01. It's a great little tripod, but the head is a little awkward at times. Handy if you wanna do any videoing, but not exactly the smoothest.

do you like huey lewis and the news?
not particularly they just had a pack in rockband 3 though if that's relevant
Alright sent myself an email to the video production head of a local church, gonna get in their high school ministry's video team. Super excited since he said that depending on the shoots we're going to use 5D MKIIs or even REDs.
Just volunteered for the animal shelter. Checked off the jobs I wanted to do most: Play with cats and take photos. Yesss.
Uh, accidentally pushed the cloth part of my canon ae-1P when i was loading the film ._. will this do anything. Kinda panicking right now edit: nevermind, it's back in place after I pressed the shutter release. But im afraid the cloth thing (the shutter, right?) might have been damaged or something. I don't know. Maybe i'm overreacting. ha
unload the film and check if the shutter works a few times
Got my second roll of film developed today. Except the majority of the images are underexposed because I don't have batteries for the exposure meter. :(
just replaced the screen on my nex 5 all i have to say is holy mother of god why didn't i do this earlier. was a $5 and easy as shit, new screen is glass too. basically the protective film on the LCD of the nex is poorly designed, and deteriorates after a while. this is an example of what it looks like, although mine was about a million times worse so happy i fixed it
ewww all your greasy hand oils were all over that shit ~nasty~
i don't think it was from grease, because a lot of people have reported this problem. diy replacement was $5 (shipped), sony replacement is $220 :p although my room was rather dusty and that was dumb of me, i wiped down the bare screen and the glass screen before applying the adhesive, but one spec of dust slipped through ;( annoying, but still 99% more useable than it was before! also my 24mm f2 lens came to my house in the mail, once i go home tomorrow i'll get to test it out. excited as fuck, it's a great week for me and my camera
Alright so I've got a question. I've been using a Canon 400D since I first became interested in photography and I have grown quite fond of the camera. I have the opportunity to get a new(ish) slr free as part of my banks rewards program and my two options are the Canon T3 and the Nikon D5000 with a "3x zoom 18-55mm & a 55-200 NIKKOR VR Image Stabilization lens" included. My dilemma is that I'm not familiar with Nikons and am quite attached to my Canon, however, in reviews it seems like the Nikon is the better camera but both options are better than the current device I am using. Does anyone have any advice for which I should go for?
the nikon is a bit better of a camera, i don't see the t3 as an upgrade to your 400d. but the nikon would be nice
don't feel like you have to upgrade to a newer body, especially if it's not a brand you're familiar with. I wouldn't consider either choice to be an upgrade anyway, especially since you're so familiar with the 400D. I would get the nikon kit, sell it and put the money toward a new lens, tripod, or whatever
Found a sweet advertising photo from National Geographic in 2001 I picked up at a charity shop. Will scan it in soon and post it up here. I think it will be appreciated :)
The past two nights I've had dreams where I've found a film camera in a drawer of some kind and taken it. Last night it was a Nikon. The night before it was a Canon.
Tonight it will be a Pentax. The next night it will be an Olympus. The next night it will be a Ricoh. The next night it will be a Sony. The next night will be a Kodak. The last night will be a Diana, and you will wake up dead. [editline]10th March 2012[/editline] FACEPUNCH PHOTOGRAPHERS AUSTRALIA MEETUP 2012
Apparently you can see Mercury today, just after sunset. Urging to take a photo of it.

I have a question: how come when you hold a lens a few centimeters from your eye and look through it you cant see shit but when you hold it in front of a camera sensor/mirror it's all clear?
I have a question: how come when you hold a lens a few centimeters from your eye and look through it you cant see shit but when you hold it in front of a camera sensor/mirror it's all clear?
its the distance from the focal plane that matters. you can see it by holding your lens under a lamp and finding how far from your desk or whatever flat surface it is when the image of the bulb is clear.
