my SD card broke :( somehow the plastic broke and then it wouldn't read the card. at least it was only 8GB? still bummed. using USB to transfer off my camera from now on.
Sucks. On the plus side, class 10 cards are cheaper than ever. Just picked up an 8gb for 15 bucks.
Going to take a break for a few days. A super close friend just took his own life and I need some time away from everything. Will post some recent photos when I return.
take it easy man, condolences.
For those of you that have used 28 days later as a user, do you think its approval before posted system works? Took a few days for my post to come up, and when it did it had a few winks added in and this at the end too.
DRAINS that is all
I certainly wasn't drunk posting that, what gives!
Now that I have film and a safe place to learn how to develop/process, I have no idea what to take pictures of. I don't like taking my camera everywhere because I love it too much. Also I've been going through the creative forum and feel that every time I look through my view-finder something is wrong.
Argh.

i don't think i need class 10, i don't do much burst photography. i think my previous card was class 8 and it was plenty fast for me. i'm just using a 2gb for now that i've had for a couple years, it seems to be fine i'll just have to dump more often
and ohfoohy, sorry for your loss. if you need someone to talk to i'm here for you.

I left 28dayslater, as a new member your reports don't get much coverage, so I joint a smaller localised forum
There seems to be a completely new type of camera.
It's the Lycra Lightfield Cam.
I don't know how it really works but it seems rahter than focussing the light, it captures the light-rays through several layers.
This enables you to change focus of a picture AFTERWARDS, in pp.
Seems like the quality is pretty shit and it only works with Apple PCs but the concept is pretty awesome.
Hey Bopie, isn't this your photo?

and that's not even real helvetica
I currently have a Canon 100-400 lens sitting right next to me. I'm borrowing it because my teacher said I should so yeah. He also said to borrow the Canon 90-300mm. So I also did that.
Don't know why
Probably maybe going to sneak my camera out of the house and go with some skater classmates to a park tomorrow. :D

Was there anything important in it?
I've taken to removing the card and downloading the images from there, because plugging the camera to the computer seems to drain the living shit out of the battery (wtf)
actually there's wasn't anything important on it thank god. so just a loss of like $10. could be a lot worse

You're not ~deep~ enough.

Who is the photographer that does those portraits with the white background and the reflection of the ring light in their eyes?
Martin Schoeller

I did a few shots inspired by him actually.
Not a 100% pleased with them, and it's on Facebook, so shit quality:

He doesn't use a ring flash though, he uses two strip lights.
Just fixed my bike, and I just moved. I think it's time to start taking photos again. I haven't posted in this section in months
Also, I want to get all my film developed, and there's not a single place around that will do it in the store. Every store sends it out to a lab, so I figured I could cut costs by sending it to a lab myself. I was looking at this pricing chart...
http://www.swanphotolabs.com/swan08/pdf/photoworks_color_mailer_dp_35mm_form.pdf
"Index Print + Sleeved Negatives ...................... FREE"
Confused. So, I'm guessing that comes with any other choices. I really don't want a CD.
Does anyone know a good lab to use?
Is there anyone near London who I can borrow a flash gun off to use on Wednesday 11th? I need to desperately for some portfolio work.
[editline]31st March 2012[/editline]
Doesn't even need to be a good one, heck I'd use one of those cheap Jessops flash guns if anyone has one.

Deez family vacations :v:
nice blues
"shut up and keep bobbing I almost got the shot that time"
that water color is crazy, man
that reminds me of the swimming scenes in the movie blue, which i mean in the absolute best way possible.
also at goodwill today i found (what looked about) a half used roll of porta 400 black and white film (processes c-41). i can't find anywhere that says when it was made from, so it could come out pretty weird. i'm excited to shoot it.
I just buy whatever film I can see. I guess that's just because I started with film.
The DSLR is a bit of a movie-makers favourite of late. Problem is, it doesn’t shoot in a format quite right for cinema. To fix this, Robinson Hope Creative, a photographer and film-maker, has put together a special anamorphic lens, which is around twice as wide as any other wide-angle lens on the market, with no distortion. The f2.8 lens is made out of a smash resistant polymer and is said to hit the market at less than $600.
