For some reason the film speed dial on my Praktica BX20 doesn't go to 1/500. It skips over it from 1/250 and goes to 1/1000
So that's for general outdoor, sun is up weather?
Any advice for a camera that doesn't allow me to change the shutter speed? Going to practice with my Uncles panoramic film camera(inside). 35mm 400 speed film. 30mm lens, f10.6-f16. Yes I probably shouldn't be using a panoramic camera while still learning the basics of film, but there's reasons.

yep! general sun up weather. and hmm, if you can't change the shutter then it is probably 1/60 (usual mechanical shutter). inside you should use the max aperture, outside use the most closed. i've never worked with a camera like that, but it probably works similar to disposables in the sense that in light you can't do much wrong.
That feel when this one guy who plays guitar on buses shows up on my bus, and the noon light hits the bus and creates some neat shadows and lights on his face and the bus and I'm sitting in a spot that would be perfect for taking a picture of him
And I don't have any camera on me
That feeling when I want to record myself playing guitar hero and my camera isn't at my dorm :(
That feeling when an animal is perched just outside your window, but moving to get your camera will probably scare it away.
Just won a Praktica FX-2, Exakta RTL 1000, Yashica Electro 35, Konica Auto S2, Canon AE-1 and some other camera on ebay. They're repair bodies, though the main thing that seems wrong with most of them is a. no lens, and b. peeling leather. The Konica is mint looking (with f/1.7 lens), with a slight peel to the leather, the Canon has a broken battery door (easiest fix?), but otherwise great. Worst is the camera I don't know, since it's missing it's top cover...
All for 30 bucks. Even if I can't get some of them working, they look great. Soo happy.
did i sell you a canon ae-1 with a broken door and a 28mm lens
Nope, this is my first Canon SLR. I don't even have any lenses that'll work with it at the moment.
i meant on ebay, because i just sold a canon ae-1 with a broken door lol

Nah, this was a lot of those 6 cameras I mentioned, and the AE-1 has no lens.
guy selling a zenit 11 on ebay with three lenses and a flash and a bunch of other stuff for ~$200
"Hey how much do you want for the 70-210mm"
"~$200 and i'll add everything else as a gift"
hilarious :l
It actually looks like a pretty good buy, with plenty of accessories, I'd go for it if I had the ~250 needed to buy that and a m42 to f-mount adaptor
200 for a zenit and three lenses sounds a bit steep tbh

This is a very generic search I've made, have a look.
Canon has just announced the latest addition to its line of DSLRs, the EOS-1D C — this camera features an 18.1-megapixel full frame sensor, and is also the first Canon DSLR that can record video at 4K resolution (4096 x 2160). There's no word yet on when this camera will be available beyond sometime in 2012; it'll retail for $15,000 when it does hit store shelves.

While the camera's sensor can be used for capturing still images (with the same megapixel count as the recently-launched EOS-1D X), video is clearly this camera's main focus. It records 8-bit 4:2:2 Motion JPEG 4K at 24FPS and can also fall back to "standard" 1920 x 1080 HD at rates between 24FPS and 60FPS. ISO sensitivity for video ranges up to 25,600 in extended mode, and uncompressed 1080p video can be output from the camera's HDMI port to an external recording. The body design appears to be nearly identical to that of the 1D X, and it also contains the earlier camera's dual CF slots.
Hot damn, shame it doesn't record in RAW format at 4K. A lot of people would want this for 1080p60fps, as editing 4K res would need beastly rigs. They have another C model called the C500 coming with 4K RAW video recording.
I'd rather get a Red Epic.

i think the sony fs700 should be noted at this time. the fs100 is certainly a better recorder than the mk2 (and at a similar price point now), and the fs700 is shaping up to be a 4k cam at around $8k, making it the cheapest 4k recorder around (scarlet is similar in price, though needs much more accessories to actually make it work).
lol Sony
Do you Nikon users ever use D-Lightning? I usually have it on Auto, but should I turn it off? I never really got my head around D-Lightning.

Turn it off to reduce noise (usually) turn it on to get better dynamic range.
I have an 8 year old Canon Rebel XS and I want to get rid of it. I thought about investing in it but it doesnt even have video. I went to the electronics store and they said the most they would pay is $250. I'm ultimately going for it, but I think I want to get a Nikkor.
I thought about getting a Canon Rebel again (the most recent on thats come out). I'm more into videography anyway.
Anyone have any good suggestions on what I should do?
Also, off-off topic/picture related because I dont know where to state this and I dont think it needs a thread. [sp]Some dunce posted the infamous ass pictures of said people and myself that people have been raving on about for ages now and THAT PICTURE IS NOT MY ASS! FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME! It is NOT me.[/sp]
