I want to say that I think this section is the best part of FP in so many ways. This section has inspired me a ton, and has helped me develop my skills so much, as well as my knowledge of cameras in general. All the users here are great, and can all take/give criticism that helps us improve rather than criticize just to be an ass.
lol that james guy in fb chat last night
It's not his fault, don't make him feel bad about it. He did what was best.
I wasn't trying to make him feel bad. I was just hoping he didn't do it in some stupid way like breaking up over facebook. I'm sure that's not the case though.
I think I speak from everyone when I say thankyou!
I've never spent time in any other subforums despite being on here actively for 4 years now (apart from reading the LMAO pictures thread) so I wouldn't know what others are like.
The others are, simply put, worse
This is coming from sort of a forum-skipper who's been a regular in like every major thread or so at one point or other, and the photography section has the nicest, most helpful users.
B-Hazard, you'll find better. Don't worry about that crap, focus on your studies so you don't live in a box when you're older.
Me, I get bad grades and am shy around girls. I've never had a girlfriend.
Yeah, so, I wanted to share this interesting looking porcelain tea set.

those are pretty sweet but slightly unsettling
Just wanted to note that sleep is overrated anyway.
I'll make a note to post more obscure art for everyone in the future :3
I've started to get artistics when I post in CPTDDAT, fuck "stop caring about ratings" those little icons actually make me feel like I'm improving.
why would you not care about ratings? they are the flash judgement that someone has made after seeing your images and atleast expresses an opinion? its worse when you see a dump with no ratings and no cc
I wish most of the emotes worked though.. :/

oh nvm i got it
Attempted my first night time long exposure.
Didn't think of the street lamps...
[t]http://puu.sh/sZ2d[/t]
Tried from the back, a bit blurry but not bad for not having a tripod.
[t]http://puu.sh/sZ2k[/t]
Zoomed in from 500 to 700 away
[t]http://puu.sh/sZ3k[/t]
long exposures are pretty fun to do, but I never manage to get anything interesting maself
Yeah, I'm barely getting used to this camera.
It seems every time I start, the batteries are dead.
Maybe someone can help me with this. A long time ago I remember seeing a collection of photos from the website something awful. They were all wonderful photos of the members of the forum, but nobody show their face. The "best" one was a guy standing on a lit stove on a pan. The one I want to see again is of a member(male) on a shore line, floating above a rock. I tried google but have no luck.

They're cool. But I'd shit my pants every time I look at my dinner.
:schlick:
I have to go to walmart and get my second roll of film developed. The first was shitty. Not focused properly and had a blue tinge to almost all of them. Hopefully it's just me being a dumbass and I've fixed it in the second roll and not the lightseals on the camera. I'm going to Washington DC tomorrow and the only camera I have is this minolta xg1. I really don't want to miss this opportunity, because I'll likely never visit Washington again.
because I'll likely never visit Washington again.
Are you going to prison or something?
I think he means he's just probably not gonna go back there unless there is something absolutely amazing and worth going back for. I'm the same when it comes to visiting places. I wouldn't go to any of the places i've been too outside of this city again, unless some special event came up that'd draw me there
I think that's a silly way to live your life. Places change, and no matter where you go, there's always something new to find.
that's true, but there's still no place like home :p
on an unrelated note, I am having a bit of a depressed mood at the moment and could use someone to talk to even if only to vent my thoughts
I think that's a silly way to live your life. Places change, and no matter where you go, there's always something new to find.
This is very true.
I've travelled tens of thousands of miles in the past 12 months, often back to the same places, because there's always more to see.
I just spent a month in California and I didn't even scratch the surface of what there is to see and photograph.
I'm pretty addicted to putting myself in places I don't know :v: I can't stay in the same city for more than a couple of weeks before itching to get out, usually I just get a train into the mountains and hike around.
my teapot has arrived
