Where is it you live cueball? glasgow amirite?
correct
so I set up one of those 500px accounts and uploaded my favorite photos, gave them some cheesy titles and shit
http://500px.com/Piotrowicz
[editline]16th May 2012[/editline]
apparently this is now popular...
http://500px.com/photo/7643854
talk about clarity rape :/
left a comment giving that photo particularly some criticism, checked the other pages of comments, looks like i'm the only one that's done so. Hope the guy doesn't get offended, it's not like he's bad at HDRs, i just really don't like what he's done with that one
still, not having been on this site before, I expect some white knight army coming my way defending the photo, saying that the photos I do are shit and don't have enough hdr or something
http://500px.com/photo/6728238 - some of his better photos
http://500px.com/photo/6789759
I don't care how "wow amazing" they look, overdone HDRs are horrible to me.
In other news I haven't taken decent pictures in like a week, fuck
its because for the most part they are idiots. I have guys on mine who post the same comment on EVERY SINGLE PHOTOGRAPH.
I heard that there's thing called photokarma coming soon that is designed to have quality feedback...
is this the new number you texted me from like two weekends ago?
also I shot that storm last thursday and it got into the local tribune's top 10 pics of the week
http://365-ish.tumblr.com/post/22674019367/62
shot it in JPG by accident and raw processed it to shit so I guess it's like a hobo-tone-mapped-pseudo-HDR thing
people love that and I feel bad because the light halos are so annoying
Yup, that was the new number i texted you with a few weekends ago. I moved my existing number to my current phone though so any texts you got were actually from me and not the person who stole it :v:

Sounds good, can't wait.

I'm okay with that fashion project.

so i'm guessing that was your reward?
If the new and upcoming fashion is no clothes I am surprisingly OK with this.
i took it in between the other shots, she's wearing a dress there
I've gotten one friend back into photography, and one into "serious" photography(he bought a real camera ((Minolta X-200))). I've been trying to drag the first one out so we could go on a walk around our city and take pictures. The other once I teach him a bit about his camera I'm sure will have time to go on such a walk/bus trips.
I've always thought Seoul would be pretty good for it too. Either way, a city that looks like that would be a dream city. I would probably deal with the privacy issues, I never do anything massively illegal anyways.
Seoul is one of my favorite places. It's like Tokyo for like 1/4 the price.

Well that was a great thing to see while browsing offtopic during class
why do i not look at links :(
just checked up on my tumblr since I'm waiting for my sister to show back up with my memory card, and there was a wall of notifications

aaaaaaaAAAAAAAA
Nice job Dai!
I bought a photo album for my prints, I love it :)
I don't know much about Tumblr, but 1374 notes? That's a lot... Right?
looking at the rest of my gallery, notes waver between 1 and 10 for me on average
although, a photo I took at a recent con (and posted to a separate blog) is now at...

and still hasn't stopped after two weeks. I've never seen a cosplay with that many notes ever
I also haven't been able to see notes to posts I want to see notes from because they flood my dash and it cuts off notifications at 20
...of course bopie's got a few photos that blow it all out of the water, some of which he didn't even post up in the first place. Must be cool finding your stuff with a metric ton of reblogs stuck to it

Got this in the mail today:

But it was followed with a swift kick to the balls as when I went to Target today I discovered the Target by me doesn't offer film development anymore. $0.95 processing is no more.

It is sad day
That sucks. It's also one of the main reasons I don't want to get into film photograph. That, and I'm honestly not a fan of the look. I like pictures being as clear as possible, the film grain just doesn't do anything for me.

you don't want to get into it because your local lab might close? why not find another one... Or ever better, go give them business now so they don't have a reason to close.
and I'm pretty sure the abundant medium format photos like this are more 'clear' than your average entry level DSLR shot

Dem hipsters love bopie's shit.
And for good reason.
I found out the other day that one of my images of machu piccu has 10,000 notes.
Holy shit that was weird.

It's been reblogged on a bunch of beard appreciation tumblrs, and kinda 'gay' 'sexy bearded men' (don't know how to describe them really) tumblrs.

And here I was trying to be nice and respectful then you had to get all uppity and become a douche.
Clear? Are you actually high or are you trying to make yourself feel better for your purchase?
[t]http://puu.sh/vzl6[/t]
Last time I checked, those shouldn't be in an image considered clear.
It's a personal preference and you being like that is doing the exact opposite that you intended.
It's a niche market, that is why they are going out of business. Because people move on to more efficient things.
The reason I don't like film is because I hate grain, I don't like the thought that every picture I take costs money, and they all look scanned out of an 80's NatGeo magazine to me.

That's poor scanning, not grain. You can also have the same thing happen to your digital pictures if you get dust on your sensor. Also, I'm pretty sure he wasn't trying to be a douche, just letting you know that not all film pictures have grain. Honestly, any low ISO film taken in decent lighting conditions won't have a very noticeable grain. But hey, if you don't wanna try it, who cares. More for us.
sorry looks like I missed a few spots, 5 minutes with the spot healing tool fixed it up!

this doesn't even make any sense.
It's a niche market, that is why they are going out of business. Because people move on to more efficient things.
Sure it's inconvenient, I think that's almost some of the appeal of it! Also I haven't got the numbers on hand, but Kodak's film division is seeing increased profits this year, largely thanks to a resurgence of film usage (woo hipsters!).
The reason I don't like film is because I hate grain,
digital photos can have just as much grain/noise as film ones. A well scanned film shot with nice film will give you results with equal or lesser grain than digital at low ISO's (up to ~400)
I don't like the thought that every picture I take costs money,
fair enough, I suppose it's a different state of mind shooting film. You realise you don't need 200 shots of that fire hydrant or stop sign just in case.
and they all look scanned out of an 80's NatGeo magazine to me.
you must be looking at some poorly scanned photos then my friend.
