Inzalonus I love your photography but your artwork is due a little work. I hate to be the one to say anything about it.
it's cool man, I agree. I used to be a pretty good drawer as a kid but one time I drew a dragon or something, and my mum, being a heavily religious fanatic actually went as far as to rip it up and throw it out... I think that may have had a negative affect on my drawing capabilities, after that I just didn't really have incentive to keep learning, only recently started again and it's only really while i'm high so
So I was shooting a video with a friend today....
so my epson v500 specifically won't scan film? when i scan anything else it comes out fine, both sets of lights work and everything even when i use the "film" setting to scan with an empty tray it will function perfectly, but when i place film on it, it mysteriously will disconnect guess i'll have to live with scanning 4x6's lol
how long are your negs cut? if the film goes over the 'squared' back end of the holder, it won't scan. it can go over the part thats like a 'ramp', just not over that back part. i'll take pics later if that doesnt make sense
Cut to 4, I got a 3 to scan once though. And I don't have a specific slide holder, I bought the scanner at goodwill for $5 and just found the original power cable at another goodwill a couple days ago. So I'm not too broken up if it doesn't work, but that does make sense. And a picture would be very helpful!
Today is the anniversary of my birth.
So you guys are the most creative people I know and I need your creative ideas. For my photo fianl, I'm stealing someones (can't remember who ATM) idea and taking a series of photos of different fruits being killed. But I need some way to present it, a photobook is the least we have to do but I want it to be cooler than that. I need some ideas on how I should present it. I was that whatever it was I could rap it in caution tape to give it like a crime scene look to it. Any ideas would be great.
I just had the perfect settings in ACR, then accidentally canceled by hitting escape trying to exit out of crop mode. *head wall*
I figured this would be the best place to post this. I'm incredibly new to photography. It took these last night with my Cyber-shot (I'd rather be using the cameras I am shooting, but I'd rather save the film for something that's worth it), and would just like some critique and tips. [T]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18418859/Photos/DSC05368.JPG[/T] [T]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18418859/Photos/DSC05369.JPG[/T] [T]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18418859/Photos/DSC05370.JPG[/T] I'm holding off using those until I feel I'm actually decent enough to warrant the use of film.

Need a different subject, go outside and take a picture of a flower. Also, whitbalance is off.
BO RING
I'm going to print those out and look at them when I am having trouble sleeping.

I gave him some criticism just like he asked.
He's taking the piss at how your criticism is just deeming things boring.
Okay, I realize I can do better than just calling things boring, but I've only done it two or three times. How else can I say it? I don't give crits often if ever, because I'm not that good myself so I don't feel qualified to say certain things. For instance I love most of your shots, but the one I called boring, I honestly felt it. As summer is coming up, I will be on here more often (right now I'm mostly lurking) and I'll be happy to provide more in-depth criticisms. And more constructive ones at that. All being said, I love you. I love you.

That's why I'm using my digital to learn.
Photo is just as boring, I'm looking for crique on that again, just the editing I've done to it. [T]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18418859/Photos/DSC05369edit.jpg[/T] And here's two more pictures, this time of my Dad's Jeep. (The Gir for a P was his idea) [T]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18418859/Jeep/DSC05204.JPG[/T] [T]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18418859/Jeep/DSC05205.JPG[/T] I'm rather happy with these two, especially the second (other than those damned fucking powerlines), what do you guys think? Oh right, I forgot about these too. Anyone who's gone through pretty much any thread relating to the eclipse has probably seen these, but I figured I post the album again since I'm trying to get critiques on my photography. http://imgur.com/a/zQozz And my favorite pic from that evening. [T]http://i.imgur.com/NYxAR.jpg[/T]
Much nicer, that first photo of the jeep is nice, the second one is pretty generic but it's not bad. Love that last shot
I like the jeep one but dude, this is the offtopic thread?
Found this funny... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=paJqHPHLExo
E3 footage from Watch_Dogs woke up my inner photog with some amazing bokeh and orgasmic slomo raindrop lighting
What kinds of levels/curves make a filter that looks like the one on Battlefield 3 and Three Kings? I've fiddled with tons of direct-sunlight pictures I've taken and still can't replicate the look. Blue-Orange/Yellow? Silly question, break your head until you achieve it.
[T]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18418859/Jeep/DSC05205.JPG[/T]
I think it would look nice with a blurred background. Aperture wide open and zoomed in should do the trick.
