So what mode you guys usually shoot in? When I first got my DSLR I went manual all the time, but I find myself using Aperture Priority for when I'm just snapping casual pics.
Aperture priority with auto ISO 95% of the time, no need to shoot manual unless you need to change shutter speed for long exposures or shooting fasting moving targets.

I shoot full manual all the time, I have the play around with Aperture and shutter priority because whenever I tried it before, something was effed up and everything was far under exposed.
I usually shoot full manual, though at times when doing school stuff i shoot in A or S depending if I need to do quick shooting with flash etc.

See, I find this happening to me once in a while which is why I asked what you guys use. That said, the exposure metering in my T2i seems somewhat inconsistent. (I just took a look at it and actually I may have found the culprit, I was on Point metering.)
used to shoot full manual, now a days I just find it easier and less time consuming to use aperture priority.
Even though yeah, manual settings I can adjust really quickly and with efficiency, I just like the pick up and go attitude aperture priority gives me
i'll still go into manual when really trying to get a specific look out of shots that require manual setting adjustments though
I think that as long as you have a clear picture in your mind about how your exposure should come out and use the right metering settings, aperture priority is the best and easiest choice. If it doesn't give you the results you want then you can always change the exposure compensation to control the light.
If you can backup to a 1TB external then I dont really see a reason not to have 2 1TB internals in a configuration that makes any data you put in one be mirrored in the other.
Portability is the reason why I backup on externals. This way I can take my external with me and offload my photos wherever I go.
so now i'm single
Aperture priority 80% of the time; manual 20% of the time.
Manual is only used when I have a specific setup or effect in mind.
Manual or Aperture, especially because of my old 50mm and my old 85-210mm

Always manual ISO thoguh
I can't stand it when someone manages to fuck up the ISO in portraits. Auto ISO is incredibly useful for sports and photojournalism, though.
anybody here got a film scanner in the UK that could scan a negative for me at the highest res possible? i need it sometime soon and i can afford the postage for it.
I know this is a shit photo, but I was wondering if anyone can identify the cause of this strange glow.

Shot with a Nikon 50mm 1.8D, which I bought new. There is a window behind the couch which I thought might have been the issue, but I haven't really been able to reproduce it.
i think lens flare
If i'm not mistaken, a lens hood fixes that problem
the 50 1.8D practically is its own lens hood, the front element sits way back in the body. If the face of the lens has light casting directly on it in that spot, I'd assume it's possible for it to catch that kinda glow. If you can't reproduce it, I suppose it isn't anything to worry about at least.
Kinda lost a bunch of motivation for photography. Took the 30mm 1.4 with me the Vegas and simply didn't produce any real "good" shots. Maybe I am just criticizing my pictures too much.
I just feel lost, I can't even find the words to describe the way I feel.
So after being hit and had rocks thrown at me while I was recording myself being bullied, the police have my memory card. My camera can only take one RAW photo.

...What?
...What?
tl;dr: Lost 8GB memory card, can only take one photo. What would you do in this situation?
'TL;DR' on what was already, essentially a 'TL;DR'.
buy a new memory card?
Nothing artistic from this? I mean if you had one shot and one shot only, how would you use it?
i could only take one photo ever again? i'd put the camera on a tripod and a cable shutter that i hook up to a dead mans switch and then hang myself on camera whilst holding down the switch, the moment i die is the moment the photo is taken.
grim i know..
I'm supposedly getting it back on Wednesday, and it's filled with videos of me looking depressed and doing a lonely sad Henry's Kitchen parody except with computers.
So yeah. It really makes me think though. Does anybody have a film camera and know when they're on their last shot?

If it was set up correctly, it'll likely have a countdown somewhere.
If not, good luck.

I thought this was kinda funny how he was taking a picture of me taking a picture of him :v:
Italian week was fun btw, got a bit sunburned on my arms and the back of my neck though but it was worth it.
I have a question: Why/when would it be necessary to bring 2 cameras, such as this guy?
wedding photographers often carry multiple bodies, each with a specific lens on it. That way they don't have to spend time fiddling with changing them back and forth, which can lose a moment pretty fast
not sure why you'd need to be so quick on the draw at italian week but whatever
Today I saw a Laica that costs about half a million CHF.
[sp]I didn't touch it.[/sp]
Does anyone have £20.50 I could borrow? I owe ebay £5.50, I bought a camera(Nikon EM) for £10 and I need some drain keys for £5.
