I am as well trying to make my portfolio. The guys over here have helped me out a lot. You should post in the questions that don't deserve a thread.
I started my portfolio using Wix webhost and creator. I'll link to my site if anyone asks for it.

Trying to photoshop that damn pole out, but freaking content aware won't work for the life of me.
tip: If you create a mask on your layer and hide the girl in the general area around where the pole contacts (carefully so you're not cutting too much or too short), content aware fills will ignore that area when sampling for content. You can delete/turn off the mask when you're done.
Might also suggest masking out the railing so it doesn't do the same thing to that, though you've got so little content over there it might be easier to manually place a few workable pieces then blend them together with a few small CA fills

explanation using a random portrait I found on google just now:
->
not too much to manage in this pic compared to yours, but still we got a weird tuft of hair and... hell if I know, some kind of rock from nothing on the other side but that's not important right now
mask button is the box and circle down here

painting black on your mask will hide the image underneath.

now when I do my fill (after remembering to select the image part of the layer instead of mask)

note, it works if you overlap your selection into the masked away area. Use that space to your advantage instead of trying to carefully trace along the line that would be there.
Now if I right click the mask and 'delete layer mask'-

Thanks dai, I actually had no idea you could do that, there are countless times when that would have came in handy.

They feel a bit different in tone. But honestly my friend, I much dig your photography.
I'm so excited I might get the position as Base Photographer for the US Navy Base here at Souda Bay. They have just about every piece of equipment I could ever want to use. Keep your fingers crossed for me guys! :)
I'm looking for a good way to show my friend all her pictures. Like I want to send her a link and she can see all the pictures and choose the ones she likes and tell me. They don't have to be superb quality or anything, I was thinking of just using pisca or something. Any better ways?
Great stuff
Holy shit, how did I not see this before?
Thanks! I'll try it out.
I've been trailing a fox for a week now, a large adult vixen. I first picked up the trail about a week ago and found some nice common trails for it, so I set up at 3 AM and waited until 8 AM every morning for a week where the paths crossed. Didn't see her. Today I finally did, but she was a quick fucker and I only caught a glimpse. I really want to wait in a certain position so I can get the light, colors and background just right for a gorgeous orange/brown to sharp red contrast and leaves pointing in the right direction creating a would-be-perfect composition, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to bait this fox. I'm camoed in full woodland beige and I've avoided wearing deo while showering twice a day so I'm completely camoed in scent, and breathing slowly. Food won't work since they only really go for that at night.
Any ideas?

Daijitsu should know.
Go to a tracking forum or something.
there was a fox that just kinda hung out by my office
I never baited it over but I saw it in the field right there a bunch
Are foxes rare over there?
I see them all the time.

Consider yourself lucky. South eastern Norway is a land who's only abundance is trees and cold. Further north and west there are more moose and deer, but here the wildest of animals to roam would be the occasional squirrel, accompanied by some finches, magpies, flies and mosquitoes.
A badger was spotted nearby last year, and deep in the forests I've seen a deer and that one fox, but without looking for, and being up at around 4 AM, I rarely see more then the occasional squirrel.
Hell, I saw more wildlife when I visited London. In the outer district I saw a whitetail prancing about.
Not that it's a bad place to live, it's not at all, but as a man who fell in love with British Colombia in Canada, that's my ultimate goal. That's where I'm going to try to live. The absolute indescribable inherent wildness of the nature coupled with the most wonderful people I have ever met means I want to be nowhere else.
So to answer your question, they're not rare but they're incredibly shy and hidden. We have a tendency to wipe out entire species here, like wolves or bears (technically there are like 200 left in Norway so they're still there, but really that's as good as extinct) and soon enough wales too. Foxes have good reason to be shy.
[editline]12th August 2012[/editline]
Yep, looked it up. A woeful 164 bears left in mainland Norway in 2009. Probably even less now.
entered this into canon's contest for a 5DmkIII

they can be
pretty sly
Where is this contest I want in
facebook canon page
oh you have to own a canon camera to enter, seems a little redundant considering a t3i is one of the prizes
I have a 5D mark II but a mark III would be brilliant. I need a backup camera since I tend to go places cameras can easily break anyway and the mark II would be a great backup. SUBMITTING!
[editline]13th August 2012[/editline]
Wait, I can't find the contest.
I'm so happy right now, found out how to enter the DEBUG menu of my Pentax K-x and then figured out the AF TEST function to fix my back focusing issue. Sooo much better now, it's spot on. Ugh I was getting so frustrated not being able to ever use the AF effectively because of this issue and now it's pretty much perfect even at 1.4

It's for US participants only. And it's public voted, contest ends on the 16th. Good luck!
Aw damnit I'm Norwegian.
Woah, First time posting here in about 6 months.
Hey everyone.
I'm restoring this bad boy at the moment. I've replaced most of the leatherette, realigned all the dials, and cleaned most of the camera out.
It needs a lens transplant (front element is missing), a shutter speed dial transplant (it's scratched up to hell), and the split-focus viewfinder thingie needs to be adjusted, as well as some lubrication here and there.
