Could anyone in the UK with an Epson V500 scan some 35mm negatives for me, so that I can make my mind up about buying one.
speaking of the epson, used mine last night. I'm a smidge ticked that if my film is curly it bows out of the tray and produces unevenly sharp/blurry scanning, but I should learn to flatten my film anyways because it's a hassle to deal with setting tightly curled strips in the tray for now I'm blaming those shoddy reels
Waiting for my camera to arrive is the longest thing ever.

Man I really wish I had friends that were into photography, it'd be really cool to just go to places with them, take photos, y'know, have a good time... I'm the only one of my friendgroup even remotely interested in photography :v:

its annying for me because i have a good mate who's into photography like me but we are both too lazy and lack cars to get about with haha
just do some night walking trips, that's what most of mine consist of. then night exposure eats into a lot of time anyways so that's good too
This is how I feel with a lot of things, all my friends are interested in is drinking and smoking pot.
My friends are all into that too (well not exclusively, they're pretty balanced), but just tag along and take pictures with them. My friends love it when I take pictures during our random adventures. Just like Trogdon said, they don't complain because at least they get cool profile and cover photos.
well took my lens down to the shop, they told me its fucked, welp now I'm $800 dollars down :(
Any sydneysiders up in this subforum keep for a shoot?
my a77 just got here dear god 12fps is scary sounding
Any amount of fps higher than 1 is scary to me
Oh god I got so lucky this night oh god I hope the pictures went well I've been waiting to catch these guys for this for MONTHS.
This is how I feel with a lot of things, all my friends are interested in is drinking and smoking pot.
That's all I'm interested in. (Posting from Amsterdam) :P High as a kite. I decided to leave my D7000 at home. Have taken my trusty D50 with a 30mm f/1.4 6mp glory Got some shots I'm really happy with while I've been here. Not sure how the higher iso photos will turn out though. Will wait and see. Need to get through the shots of the festival before I start on these but should have a fair bit of content coming soon :)
You guys remember the photography contests I entered in August? Yeah. Well, this is what won first place in the "Nature" category. I don't want to seem like a giga-dick but.... I mean.... Gah... How did I lose to this? First place picture: [editline]13th September 2012[/editline] Now he's tooting his horn all over my Facebook! I would say this is a dark time for film but that was when everyone was in the darkroom

Touching back on the subject of photo-friends, I actually find it harder to shoot with other photo-people. It's hard to play 'observer' when everyone else is, too. Not only do you end up with same-y shots in a given situation, you end up with mostly photos of 'people holding cameras' which are fine, but that becomes too defining and repetitive. You can always be the observer of observers, but that gets old after you do it a few times. The grass is always greener on either side, but I think a good middle ground would be desiring 'creatives' as friends. Or at least more adventurous types. You need variety, and I'm sure that enough of you can relate to TF2 for it to be relevant to say, a single-class team is cripplingly unbalanced (can be fun though).
Haha good analogy :P Also not really relevant but I spent most of my savings on my a77, and now they announced the Wii U, I had money set aside but now I don't really. I need to get some photo jobs so I can afford one (as lame as it sounds), I was all set on getting it day 1. But selling a couple lenses as well, hopefully can get about $600 for those as I don't use them at all.
Woo, I'm climbing Currahee tomorrow! If you guys have ever watched Band of Brothers, it's the mountain they climbed during the training episode. Super excited; got my climbing shoes ready to go.
I've started tumbling. http://georgebyrom.tumblr.com/
I've started tumbling. http://georgebyrom.tumblr.com/
even though you posted it here in the photo forum I still half expected derg thread content upon clicking that, haha. I've been around the 'sarcastic bastard' side of tumblr for too long, need some more active photo blogs again
I'm not so much into derg stuff anyhow :v: Damn title.
So, not photography per-se, but this is something I'm working on. How am I doing? edit: more complete picture
I'm not so much into derg stuff anyhow :v: Damn title.
but, dergs :v:
