Hey, dunno if this is a good place to ask, but I'm looking for recommendations on good headphones for music-listening. The only brand I can think of is Beats, and I don't want Beats.
It depends on what you listen to
It depends on what you listen to
Music. Meaning I like multiple types and genres. Although I suppose instrumentals/orchestral is my main favorite.
My home studio setup is VERY basic, and I want to cut down on CPU usage without sacrificing latency. Is it possible for me to completely finish+mix background instrumentals, mix it all down to one songfile, then store it on a new file so I can lay vocals+additional solos on top of it?
That's called "Freezing", any decent DAW should have the feature built in.
Music. Meaning I like multiple types and genres. Although I suppose instrumentals/orchestral is my main favorite.
I would say to just look for headphones that don't boost any frequencies, like studio monitor headphones. These should be good no matter what you listen to, as they don't mess with the original sound. I recommend checking out some Audio Technica ATH-M50s
Thanks, although looking around, I can't justify spending that much money atm :v:
That's understandable. You could also look at the other models like the ATH-M30s or ATH-M40s, those are a lot cheaper. They're not going to be of the same quality as the M50s, but I've heard good things about them both
I'm seeing a pretty good deal for an ATH-M30. $47, should I go for it?
I'm seeing a pretty good deal for an ATH-M30. $47, should I go for it?
I'd say to do some research to make sure that's really what you want to buy first, there could be something else that better suits your needs. But if you're absolutely sure, I'd say you could go for it, that price doesn't sound too bad. I think I may have seen that particular model go for lower though, in case you'd like to take a chance and maybe get a better deal

The $47 thing is a deal when buying straight from Amazon, also with free shipping.
I'd just say to read some reviews and stuff like that before purchasing to make sure they are a good buy. If you feel like you've done enough research and you want to buy them though, then I'd say go for it!

i'd post more often but not many people make metal or rock here and i don't know anything about electronic music so i can't really help with that
i'd post more often but not many people make metal or rock here and i don't know anything about electronic music so i can't really help with that
I think you can use your knowledge of metal and rock to give out some advice with composition and shit and stuff. I'm not sure what you're so afraid of, just write some dumb shit. Hell, just post if you like a track or not, it's better than not doing anything!
I really should start to give people advice on mixing and mastering (especially when real instruments are used), I listen to so many tracks in this section but I don't comment because I am always very short on time.
i'd post more often but not many people make metal or rock here and i don't know anything about electronic music so i can't really help with that
think how I feel when i post my bossa nova stuff rofl
what do you guys think of the new soundcloud update? they introduced max width to the site.. looks really silly on bigger monitors
what do you guys think of the new soundcloud update? they introduced max width to the site.. looks really silly on bigger monitors
Not too much of an issue, but it's a little confusing, is there a way I can alter the width value?
Not too much of an issue, but it's a little confusing, is there a way I can alter the width value?
I don't think so. The thing that bothers me is that there is so much wasted space now
I don't think so. The thing that bothers me is that there is so much wasted space now
It looks more organized yes I'm with them on that but they really didn't need to do this

I've installed ASIO, spent hours tinkering around the audio settings idk man I just can't get it to work the test tone even works so I don't know what the problem is I'm using Live 8 btw if that helps any

Asio has this weird thing where it doesn't produce sound if there's another program in the background open that can produce sound (e.g: browser, steam, etc.)
does anyone know what font the band sworn in uses on their logo with nails on it? I'm sorry if it's not the right place if it is could someone point me in the right direction? google failed to supply me with actual information on it.
