Gold, buying titles for people other than yourself, and username changes aren't on boostar anymore?

This sounds like a good idea but I think it might be pointless
Pepper;44216810']Tbh, blue members are less common than golds. Especially ones as old as me.
Probably because it used to be 5 years and 100 posts in order to be gold.
Good, was sick of seeing bots buying shit them spamming everywhere due to it.
I'm gold and I never, ever, ever use the Gold Forums. I don't see the point of them - I want to talk to everybody - not just the gold members.
What the point Gold Members anyway?
There used to be only a handful of them.
I won a riddle contest that took like 2 weeks and was awarded gold like 2 months later then like a week later everyone got it.
My title has stuck to me, which in turn is hilarious and pretty much everyone'll know me by. Shame to see it disappeared from Boostar though.
Actually, let me rephrase my problem with the Gold Forums:
Gold members are no more important than blue members - partially because there are so many gold members, but also because the style of posting isn't all that different in my eyes. (Unless you're posting in OIFY, but why would you visit OIFY?) So, if that's the case, what's the point of posting in a forum that only a specific sliver of people can see?
Being "gold" doesn't mean anything - I just boostar'd because I wanted to support Facepunch.
Well, My guess that they got removed because of Conna? Who gave advertisment titles to some of the members here.
So whats the post count for gold now? or have they removed that
Should just remove links from titles (this includes text-links), most of them are just advertisements anyways. (Not saying that they wouldn't advertise anyways, but it'd get less people buying titles so people would click on the links.)
No one has said anything about it, they were just removed. Well, there could be a thread in the gmf but leaking that is bannable so if there is, we aren't going to know about it any time soon.
Golds tend to be more active, and it depends where you hang out on Facepunch.
Well that WAS true until every rust-kid started buying gold for themselves, thinking they would be given special treatment or something

That would only work out to the scammer's benefit, they could change a title to the wording of a tiny url link, and out of curiousity who ever saw it would copy and paste.
Garry just needs to pick out a few well trusted people to be on title approval duty.
I also kind of like large titles, I want to set my title to "If I do it fast enough can I fuck myself?" (Sort of an inside joke between me and a couple people on FP) and that's kind of a "huge red letters" title.
I have the years for gold but not the posts. I lurk too much. This is assuming that the old system is back in place...
In any case, I never liked the idea of paying for things like this in the first place, so I'm not sad to see this go.
What if: Gold membership can only be bought for another user, by a gold member.

Glod must be granted by our lord and savior Firerain.
It is the only way forwards.
The only thing I'd want back on boostar is buying titles for other members.
I think that's an founding reason why they pulled it though, look around for the various reasons
So will Garry comment on this
I think it should be like this: mods and admins can give people gold for any reason at all.
Gold memberships can still be bought, but with a bribe instead of five bucks.
imagine paying real money to make yourself look cooler on an internet forum
it depends on the size of the title imo
by that I mean little ones aren't an issue, but big attention grabbing ones are an eyesore
I don't know what you mean :~)
imagine paying real money to make yourself look cooler on an internet forum
Especially if you were promised a cool title :v:
So whats the post count for gold now? or have they removed that
I just assume there isn't a path to Gold right now.

I wouldn't count on it, they might say something in a few days or a week.
But until then, well, yeah

Not forever of course, just until the powers that be decide on a better/previous system.
So will Garry comment on this
Garry doesn't comment on anything unless he absolutely feels like it's worth discussing, which is usually never. That's me trying to be fair and honest with you, and not even trying to hate - that's just how he is.

I only got it because it was back pocket change at the time (Cost me £1.50 I believe) so it was worth a look into.
don't lie you gold members are absolutely chuffed you have big animated avatars,
c'mon guys dont lie. ;(
I'm glad I got my gold for free. I'd love it to change back to the old way where certain amount of post and years give you this prestige. But meh, I don't really care and find it a good treat for mods getting part of the money.
I remember back when I thought 2 years seemed like it was a hell of long time to wait to get gold. Figured I woulda had it by now. I just want the avatar size :/
