and like some other people have said, do work and earn enough money to get a computer, or if you are too young for real work, try to do other things like chores and ask for an allowance and even mow some lawns.

I tried that. Didn't work. New computer I bought was better than the old one, old one gets closted, new computer turns into the new family computer.
Take note though that the old computer was a P3 and this happened in 2006. When you aren't exactly flowing with money your property becomes everyone's property.
