what podcasts do you guyz listen to? I only listen to Giant Bomb, 8-4 Play and recently Idle Thumbs.
just mega64 pcast used to be deep in the This American Life squad, kinda shaped my life, cuz now im on my way to get my broadcasting and communication major, and its all thanks to NPR and TAL
Does a split necessarily mean that the musicians on the release are featured on all of the songs or do I just not understand what a split is? I thought it'd be like X band and Y band put out X songs featuring Y and Y song featuring X.

it would still be a split if they did tho
related note: people who enjoyed secondary school are either delusuional or the very people who made secondary school so shit
this. I hate high school, was bullied quite a bit, the majority of teachers have given up on me or telling me to drop out because I'm barely passing. I don't know why I care about not going to school anymore, in all ways I'm better off working than doing anything academic. [editline]3rd July 2013[/editline] god I sound like an idiot, sorry about that
Like you'd let bullying ruin your school experience. Happened to me I just went for the cunt, I got bullied and I thought school was great.
that's not an issue anymore for me anymore though, it made the all of primary and the first half of secondary school pretty shit, but my school experience is now being ruined by stress
related note: people who enjoyed secondary school are either delusuional or the very people who made secondary school so shit
lmao the last couple of years at high school were hella fun for me
I'm probably the only one who loved Secondary school but hated that "period between proper career study and GCSE". Clueless career guidance people who know nothing, no wonder worthless degrees get people nowhere... People may think those years were fun because of freedom but when there's literally not even a vague picture of life in the future then it's a lot more difficult to get through. 17 is definitely the worst age to be, by miles.
Like you'd let bullying ruin your school experience. Happened to me I just went for the cunt, I got bullied and I thought school was great.
6th form was the bullshit era for me. The whole thing was focused on getting into uni, which I had no plan on doing
school is chill
6th form was the bullshit era for me.
Ridiculously bullshit. You overwork yourself for so little credit. [editline]3rd July 2013[/editline]
school is chill
ofc, if you're doing French or Drama, or art/music.
uni is dope even if I don't end up with a job in programming which I hope to get I'll be so glad I went I moved cities of my own volition and i pay my own rent and food and shit even though I could have gone to uni at my home city and its great and most of my friends are still at home and it makes me feel like I've achieved something pretty great for myself, moving out is a pretty big thing
think I'll do sound design in a year and a half
i did sound design for a year or so and gave it up no opportunities for it where I was, tbh you are better off trying to snag an apprenticeship at a studio by far - a good half of the people who get a foot in the door with media, particularly production of media like music and film get in there by dint of the work they've already done, not the degree they just finished or like do it part time while doing volunteer and internships all over the shop even the people I know now doing degrees in production make sure to snag up all the internships they can every semester because you need to network like fuck to even have a hope of a job after you graduate
it seems that when every famous artist releases a new album, people aren't into it that much, but then after a while everyone says you have to listen to it a few times to appreciate it. I don't doubt their sincerity, but it really bugs me that people never act that way about lesser known artists.
just listened to the new Terence Trent D'Arby album... he's very much still there even after 20 years of forgotten years.
i hated my entire education until i got into uni. Primary school was a complete waste of time for me, there was nothing i was taught that i wasn't already taught better at home. Secondary school up to GCSE - similar story but even shittier envoronment. GCSE up to passing my a-levels was a long slog of what i percieved to be exam-and-results based teaching rather than student-centred teaching. There were some good teachers who genuinely cared about their pupils and the subject they taught, but there were a lot of jobsworths who really just cared about how well their class did in exams and their overall rating as a teacher. I was bullied a bit in year7 and i didn't ever fit in, but that was completely secondary to how much I hated the whole educational system. It has never surprised me that there are so many people who won't pick up a book or consciously approach learning - because those things are associated with a bloody stupid system thats obsessed with rankings and results and preparing people for sitting behind a desk all day with their mind switched off.
think I'll do sound design in a year and a half
do fashion design instead and make mad money
