Good case of "don't hate the player, hate the game." Fuck waiting.
i was a waitress for a while and it monumetally sucked, decided it wasn't worth the minimum wage pay + the odd tip and quit after a month [editline]16th December 2013[/editline]
As far as I know, the hourly pay for a waiter is very low. Most restaurants expect them to make at least minimum wage through tips.
that depends on the restaraunt

Looking for a song. It's basically a black woman screaming, with some sweet jazz in the background. I didn't hear any lyrics.
Could be something from Matana Roberts:
Not screaming like that. Imagine singing without lyrics. It was kinda like that.
she's not black tho
You gotta cut me some slack, I heard it in a bar filled to the brim. So when I heard the really screamy parts, I thought it sounded like a black woman. [editline]17th December 2013[/editline] (What does she look like though? Out of interest.)

Old Man Gloom binge. Shit is top notch
Old Man Gloom binge. Shit is top notch
Ye I recently felt like listening to proper christmas music and Old Man Gloom delivered that
i dreamt about this girl without knowing her face for years
You've definitely seen her face before though. You can't dream someone's face without having at least having seen them before. Even if it's just a glimpse. Either that or you've dreamt of someone with a similar face
You've definitely seen her face before though. You can't dream someone's face without having at least having seen them before. Even if it's just a glimpse.
Nah, i think the brain's database works like a rpg face randomizer when your subcounscious throws in someone you only heard of.
It's not a matter of what you think It's just a fact or a theory (as far as I know it hasn't yet been completely debunked)
Every dream is like the sopranos it just cuts to black mid sentence
in my dreams people start making real world noises mid sentence. "No, don't jump, you can't actually fly-*phone ring* *phone ring* *phone ri-*" [editline]18th December 2013[/editline]
It's not a matter of what you think It's just a fact or a theory (as far as I know it hasn't yet been completely debunked)
I'm not a psychologist or any brain area student. But I do understand unconsciousness as a drunkfest of random images and situations you gathered (unwillingly, mostly) while you were awake. I've seen my gf's parents faces a bunch a'times already and i'm still to meet them [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] gonna meet them this xmas, actually. [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] fuck.
You can't dream someone's face without having at least having seen them before.
This is untrue. Sometimes the dreamed faces end up disfigured anyway.
drums suck at least only when you realize it's a dream because when that happens, a bunch of men wearing suits storm the place and start escorting out all of the dream characters and then they hold you down and use a needle to inject you with something while one of them whispers in your ear, "you can never know. this is for your own good." and then when you wake up you have to change your pants
Doesn't matter if they end up disfigured or not, the face is always created from people you've seen before. The brain doesn't just invent a fresh face full with features. Sure we can recognise faces in many things, but create them. No. AS FAR AS I KNOW~ the theory has not been debunked, please link me to any reliable source that will probably disprove this theory Edit: After a bit of research I remembered this was Sigmund Freud related. I could probably find a better source but here's a quote from the psychohawks wordpress "We only ever dream of things we’ve seen, heard of or experienced in reality. Some people find this concept very hard to get their head around. When telling a friend this once, they replied: “Total rubbish, last night I dreamt of a man who I can promise I’ve never met.” I have no doubt about this, but that does not mean they haven’t SEEN this man. Our brain is incredible and can remember faces we see for a split second. The face she saw in her dream could have been the guy who served her in HMV earlier that day, or someone who brushed past her in the street. Whoever it was, that person is real. This is similar with places and events. You may not have been to/experienced them, but you will have probably seen them on the TV or heard stories about them."
the face is always created from people you've seen before. The brain doesn't just invent a fresh face full with features.
that's exactly my point from the beginning. "brain's database works like a rpg face randomizer" "drunkfest of random images and situations you gathered"
So why did you disagree with my statement from the beginning of the discussion So many misunderstandings
You've definitely seen her face before though. Either that or you've dreamt of someone with a similar face
yea, you personified the random person i dreamt of and i disagreed cause there was no reference whatsoever even to recognize a similarity.
So many misunderstandings
[editline]18th December 2013[/editline] at least we agree mastodon is an awesome band [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] so, i saw tortoise playing live fucking amazing experience, i remember that when they played "Gigantes" the tab of acid i took hours before started to kick in. That was teh mozt amazeeng version of Gigantes i've ever heard.
the face is always created from people you've seen before.
basically yeah, but you've just debunked your own theory. imo everyone will dream differently anyway, I've never had a dream which seems perfectly cohesive, it's always some kind of david lynch extravaganza of whatever the fuck happens. maybe this is why i'm confused a lot :(
We do agree on that That statement though is just poorly worded. I meant exactly what I said, should've just added a bit more detail to get my point through properly I'm terrible with words [editline]18th December 2013[/editline]
basically yeah, but you've just debunked your own theory. imo everyone will dream differently anyway, I've never had a dream which seems perfectly cohesive, it's always some kind of david lynch extravaganza of whatever the fuck happens. maybe this is why i'm confused a lot :(
It's not my theory gosh! It's just that I worded shit poorly and you misunderstood me because I can't articulate things properly in English anymore. I need to read more books
I haven't met a lot of people who have coherent narratives in their dreams. For me, situations and places always change, and they're always vague. It's like a David Lynch movie! I think a constant pattern for me is that it always goes from the fantastic and surreal to the realistic and familiar, but still hazy.
This is what makes dreams interesting It's actually nice to have a discussion about something interesting, never happened a lot when I browsed the music section back in the day
