I wanna see the new Paranormal Activity movie. I'm really sure that its not gonna be great, but those are fun movies to see in the theater and I haven't seen on since PA3 (shit) cause I thought PA4 looked real bad.
literally no haunted house found footage film is good im yet to see one even close to decent [editline]5th January 2014[/editline] found footage is a shitty gimmick that needs to go tbh
I liked grave encounters to be honest.

Try watching something like Marble Hornets or EverymanHYBRID. Hell found media is one of the most important staples of modern ARGs. (Cliff Howry ARG, Year Zero ARG, Flynn Lives ARG etc.)
I think I may know why I got a second copy of this record sent to me. Upon further inspection, the first is really, really warped. It sounds fine, but it's very noticeable.
I agree Mamok. Found footage is something dependent on the medium and cinema is not the medium for it- it's definitely the internet. It feels more real and draws you in and you get proper interaction, and since the idea is it's real that works well. I mean, you don't go into the cinema and just stumble upon real videos. You can do that online though. My proper with most horror tbh is that I can't trust judgement a lot of the time since a "great horror film" usually equates to an average film in the grander scale. Most of them have shitty characters and 99% of the time character is so important to me in a film. Moreso than story, often. (I stand by the view that characters should drive the plot, plot shouldn't drive the character). I feel like standards are set low. There are obviously great horror films out there as there are in any genre but overall I feel like it's weak, in the mainstream at least. I think it's interesting that nearly all the best horror films I've seen are ones not done by horror directors (except John Carpenter and Dario Argento films). Werner Herzog's remake of Nosferatu (this is pretty much the best horror ive ever seen), Psycho, Rosemary's Baby, a very recent addition would be Kill List. almost said The Shining but idk I guess I can note it since it's another example, although personally I tihnk it's pretty bad (but im not big on Kubrick at all. Hes lame.) however its possible im just a pretentious bastard when it comes to films since I spend so much time exploring the medium

If you like Animal Collective you should really check out the EverymanHYBRID ARG. Its been described as the " 'Across The Universe' of Animal Collective". Horror is a really strange genre because it relies so much on the most primal emotion there is, fear. Fear can be reactions to all sorts of things. The reason the horror genre is just nestled with so many shitty movies is because most horror directors are really only looking for ways to make people scared rather than actually tell a good story or propose an interesting idea or show off some cool imagery like films should normally do. Most of the time horror directors just use jump scares, shock gore, and alarming music to achieve easy fear reactions. I think rather than plot driving the characters or character driving the plot they really need to drive each other. And yeah I agree that most horror movies have really shitty characters. Horror is a strange genre because its one of the easiest but hardest things to do correctly. A lot of the time horror films end up just being funny rather than frightening. Which makes a lot of sense as hilarity can be described as the opposite of fear, making them more closely related than we think. Theres really not many good horror directors because making a horror film usually doesn't equate to making a good film. There are plenty of things that work for horror that just don't work at all for any decent narrative. This is probably why you see so many good directors sometimes make good horror films as they are usually setting out to make a good film with horror elements rather than make something thats just a "horror film". Seriously when have you ever seen a snuff film with a decent plot.

I do not like oasis
they're about as enjoyable as a colonoscopy
I've been listening to music for a year now and already have 241 albums, I've only listened to 109 of them.
I only listen to like 10-15 albums in a year, if I like something a lot I want to listen to it a lot. [editline]awd[/editline] Listening to more than that amount is something I can understand but not something I could do. [editline]awd[/editline] Well I probably listen to more than that but only counting the albums I listen to more than two times.
It really depends with me. Sometimes I'll get stuck on a couple albums for weeks at a time, and then sometimes I'll give 20 different albums a listen in the span of a week and never revisit them. I've gotten nearly 40 albums in the past 3 weeks and have only been bothered to listen to maybe 3 of them so far. Hell, I haven't even added the majority to my foobar library yet.
I've stopped really caring about finding the BEST NEW BANDS and just listening to what I feel like when I want. Don't really feel the need to listen to a new album every day or anything, I'd rather listen to an album I've had for a while and find something new in it or play along to it
[img]http://puu.sh/6b82a.png[/img] haha oops
I just got around to listening to Rival Dealer today and, man, it's so much better than anything I could have expected from Burial
I got stuck on Pink Floyd for 6 months, I know them like the back of my hand
