swagberg's mixtape is really good, not a big fan of pony swag but the rest is solid.
Yea, I agree. Examples if you didn't like the pony thing

Listening to radiohead and I don't think I get it [editline]15th January 2014[/editline] Liking Let Down and Karma Police quite a lot tho maybe it's a grower?? We shall see
Isn't that the band that sounds like muse? On a serious note, I never really got into them. Tried listening to them a couple of times but it is not for me.
I don't think I "get" Radiohead either. I mean, I've listened to The Bends at least 4 times, OK Computer twice, and Kid A once, and it's *ok* but nothing that I'd shit my pants over. OK Computer is heralded as the best album of all time on RYM and I honestly don't see how. There's a few decent songs on there but imo The Bends is way better overall. I guess that's why it's called an opinion.
I don't think I will ever get Radiohead. They aren't even bad or anything.
I really like radiohead but it's just too deep for a simple man such as myself to comprehend Sounds good though
Do you remember the man you once were in that deep abyss you immersed yourself in as a consequence of trying to match the infinite vastness that their music encompasses?

good job buddy
the new Liars track, "Mess on a Mission" is fucking awesome I'm so pumped for their new album in march
One of my teachers really fucking liked Radiohead and he'd sneak Radiohead references into all his class work and lessons and made us analyse Radiohead song lyrics. I guess he was a pretty cool guy but damn did he like Radiohead too much. Also he had some bromance with Justin Trudeau at one point, he even knew his dad pretty personally.
hope u guys are ready for the greatest hardcore song of all time

Never listened to Amnesiac, maybe Kid A would be worth another listen. I think I rated it a 3 on RYM the first time I listened to it, which is in my "worth another listen down the road" range of ratings. You know, I've noticed post-rock and math-rock is either dead on or just off it. I've been listening to Maybeshewill today and I dunno, meandering piano solos and excessive sampling isn't all that impressive. But 65daysofstatic, Mogwai, and GY!BE are all amazing.
I guess this is a good place to ask for suggestions: I really like melodic songs(or just songs with an easy to detect melody)---things that are catchy(but they by no means have to be fast, or 'upbeat' sounding). I almost always favor songs played with mostly real instruments over ones made with a program/whatever(NIN is an exception, of course), and I tend to dislike silly/non-serious songs. Songs that I know of that fit the bill(all of the bands listed are also among my favorites): All Apologies, Nirvana We're In This Together, NIN(specifically, the chorous bits) No Rain, Blind Melon Doesn't Remind Me, Audioslave Burden in My Hand, Soundgarden Does anyone have any very-melodical-sounding-music suggestions for me, please?
Seems like you enjoy 90s grunge and alt rock quite a bit, ever give Mad Season's album a listen?
Seems like you enjoy 90s grunge and alt rock quite a bit, ever give Mad Season's album a listen?
Yeah, I really enjoy grunge, And no, but I'll give it a try roight naw. Thanks!
Fair warning, it's pretty mellow where grunge is concerned, but it's a terrific album by a pretty good supergroup. I've started reviewing albums on RYM and I've discovered I'm pretty bad at categorizing, and being harsh. I can't seem to give anything below 3 stars.
I find that I rarely listen to albums that are deserving of a worse rating than 3
I suppose that's a valid point. Most of the music I get comes from either someone recommending something similar to what I already listen to or from chart ranks on RYM. The rare exception is certain stuff I get from what on a whim and then never listen to anyway.
Q: I have to ask the obligatory final question: Any word on a new release from The Avalanches in the next decade? A: [Laughs.] We can only hope. I think they tell us, every time we ask them, it’s like 98% done.
My friend bought me this album for Christmas It's Cacophony by Rudimentary Peni. I've never heard of the band, and there isn't too much info on them on google. I'm just curious if anyone here is familiar, cause I'm kind of hyping myself on the mysteriousness of this album to me.
The more I listen to Franz Ferdinand's first album the more brilliant it becomes. One of my favorite albums of all time.
