[QUOTE=myng;43766479]I discovered the genre of 'shoegaze' in this forum, when someone posted starting over, by lsd and the search for god. As it turns out, I really, really like it. I adore the mellow melodies, and the blissful vocals.
Anyone got any songs/albums/bands that are musically similar to 'starting over'? or perhaps to genre of shoegaze itself?

Used to listen a few of their tracks (mostly White hidden fire) on repeat. Probably should give their full album a shot now that you mentioned them.

Definitely check out MBV - Loveless. It's the first shoegaze album almost everyone would reccomend
Also check Tokyo Shoegazer - Turnaround and Asobi Seksu - Citrus (or Hush, if you want something with more space)

When I first heard the cover of money awhile I really found the bong hit sounds replacing the cash register sound to be funny.

Would've stuck a fiver on the hawks to win but the odds were terrible, would've got nothing in return really.

fucking local band, Indonesian Gamelan with Math Metal or the way my friend puts it "it's like a Balinese Slipknot, with none of the super lame angst."
I swear it's the only advert I ever see on youtube, so the singles grown on me, wasn't really keen on it at first. I'll pick up the album at some point probably though

[QUOTE=Leem;43766671]I'd say listen to the "Big Three" of shoegaze (My Bloody Valentine - Loveless, Slowdive - Souvlaki, and Ride - Nowhere). Those three albums pretty much cover most of shoegaze's styles and influences.
After that, just browse through some of the bands on this chart and see what sounds pique your interest.

why is Codeine there

Justice's first album.
you're better off just listening to motown imo
nobody listens to techno
