akayz hasnt made a single post about the chinese so far this week this is a miracle
thx you reminded me to add onto the story:
trying to catch up on my noise rock... thing is... the next door neighbour is practising the harp. I really don't want to use headphones atm either but I don't want to feel guilty about disturbing the peace. what do in this situation?
One of the harpists is Chinese no bs, so I just decided to play Boris' Pink album anyway and it was good ;)
dammit njitte
One of the harpists is Chinese no bs, so I just decided to play Boris' Pink album anyway and it was good ;)
japanese and chinese aren't the same, ak'z. jeez
she may have been malaysian, i wasn't looking at her properly when i said hi [editline]15th April 2014[/editline] there's a 70% chance she's chinese and 20% malay
she may have been malaysian, i wasn't looking at her properly when i said hi [editline]15th April 2014[/editline] there's a 70% chance she's chinese and 20% malay
uhhh malaysian and chinese dont even look remotely the same
that's racist, what if she's half chinese/half malay.
that's racist, what if she's half chinese/half malay.
the cheeks and nose/eyesocket area are different if the people I know with those nationalities are any indication which they are probably not [editline]adw[/editline] yeah they def look different [editline]awd[/editline] if she's both then my comment doesn't apply because I wasn't talking about someone with roots in both nationalities, yo.
nose/eyesocket area are different
wow they call me racist [editline]15th April 2014[/editline] i am literally dalai llama compared to that amount of racism
wow they call me racist [editline]15th April 2014[/editline] i am literally dalai llama compared to that amount of racism
they aren't different races you loaf [editline]awd[/editline] we're not even on the same level here
uhhh malaysian and chinese dont even look remotely the same
Well Han Chinese make up 24.5% of Malaysia's population, so they can look the same.
yeah franke, not all chinese people have "eyesocket" features too. unbelievable. [editline]15th April 2014[/editline] the chinese across russian borders don't even look chinese.
We should return to discussing Brand New.
Ben Frost's A U R O R A is overwhelming in the best way and anyone who likes Tim Hecker and/or The Haxan Cloak (or just dark ambient in general) should listen to it
We should return to discussing Brand New.
Just saw them live tonight they were fucking outstanding [editline]16th April 2014[/editline] It's pretty obvious that brand new are not where they were when they wrote deja and the devil and god. Like daisy was a big change but even live you can tell they're goingore post-hardcore, noisy and even droney. I reckon their next album will be nothing like their stuff before. Tonight they opened with 3-4 minutes of drone, between and even in songs they played with discordant noises and techniques, off rhythms, post-hardcorey vocals etc etc... Pretty big stuff. I respect that they do that considering their fanbase is a lot of 15 year old girls lol.
What was their setlist?
The drone led into sic transit gloria, which led to 2 songs from daisy (and 2 more from it throughout), millstone, seventy times seven, limousine then Jesus Christ then you won't know (these three I'm a row was definitely the highlight), and several more. Their set was about 2 hours.

My setlist memory is very off lol however it was all amazing
I'm so glad you dudes found Brand New. I remember being into them a few years ago and bringing them up and you were all like "yeah they're cool I've never given them time but they're cool" but now you're all way into them and that makes me happy. I love them a lot. Also Mikey, how sick of a set closer is You Won't Know. I had a tiny decent mosh when I saw them, but I've never really had a good one at a large show, so I wasn't expecting one.
Jealous wish they would come to Oz, would be up front row and buy merch and fangirl
I bought a t shirt and also a front bottoms hat because fuck it why not
You won't know was so so amazing. Jesse's vocals were just incredible on it. We had good mosh, there was a pit going for a lot of the time at least on the faster stuff. I hung around it and went in and out cos im too unfit for 2 hours of moshing lol [editline]16th April 2014[/editline] The place was like max 25% full when tfb played which was a shame cos they're such a good band. Saves the day were pretty good but I had only heard like one song from them beforehand
Ben Frost is the shit man.
This was my first exposure to him, I'll definitely be listening to more of his stuff in the future Also, the only Brand New tour date near me is a mediocre little festival in Boston with overpriced tickets. I hope they come here for their next tour (promotion for next album!!??!??)

I thought saves the day were pretty shit actually. I was really bored, nobody at all was into them, TFB got people going really well,

Great that they are playing different parts of their discography instead of just doing most recent. [editline]15th April 2014[/editline] Also RIP franke (for a day)
I should of flew to the UK just to see TFB and BN
