Actually I got robbed by 3 dudes who broke into my house and tied me up in like febuary then about 10 minutes ago me and my dad just scared off two blokes climbing through our bushes while hollering with baseball bats. Don't come to manchester, it's shit.
What part of Manchester? I've been living in Central/South Manchester and it's been peachy apart from next door being robbed.

They were booed. This was the first time a Eurovision performance had been greeted with such open venom - and it wouldn't happen again for more than 20 years Balalika did go on to be one of the biggest selling singles of 1984 in Israel. What do you think? Would it have been a winner had it made it to Luxembourg City?
Interesting...I don't know but I think you need a job or a new hobby.
he needs like a wordpress blog or something
is this dude out to ruin both the film and music sections?
But it does say Music Chat Thread though.
But it does say Music Chat Thread though.
instead of giving you the "you must be new here" statement that 90% of people get ill explain. instead of giving us a biography of the band, post a video/song for us to listen to. im seeing la dispute tonight gonna scream v loudly
lol i totally forgot about that post
But it does say Music Chat Thread though.
You're not chatting though, just posting random unrelated posts.
But it does say Music Chat Thread though.
We chat about things, we don't bring up things that no one cares to have conversation about. ''hey guys this is neat, check it out/what do you think'' is a better way to go than ''impersonal information and hella formal way of typing''
Word.
I was almost put into tears by this song, what's wrong with me these days I get sad over everything now.
My friend has finally seen the light and realised that r/music is a cesspool.
what is r/music like im not brave enough to venture there myself
Hey what's up, I'd love to know if any of you fine people could help me flesh out (jesus, I sound like a spambot don't I?) what genre this piece of music is: Personally I would say it is psychadelic stoner, but I'm sure you guys can help me better understand what genre it is.
But it does say Music Chat Thread though.
chatting usually involves holding a conversation consisting more of a single post with a picture and description [editline]13th June 2014[/editline]
what is r/music like im not brave enough to venture there myself
pretty awful
what is r/music like im not brave enough to venture there myself
From what I've seen it's mostly wrong generation dadrockers [editline]13th June 2014[/editline]
Hey what's up, I'd love to know if any of you fine people could help me flesh out (jesus, I sound like a spambot don't I?) what genre this piece of music is: Personally I would say it is psychadelic stoner, but I'm sure you guys can help me better understand what genre it is.
Doesn't really sound stoner. Just feels like a blues song with some Neu! thrown in
what is r/music like im not brave enough to venture there myself
its fucking rubbish. its just people reposting the same fucking songs over and over trying to whore karma points. It's very rare there's quality discussion.
so basically r/music is just as bad as /mu/
So in my dream last night I met David Sylvian. He was a pretty cool person in the dream.
The documentary about being a touring musician with children that follows A Silver Mountain Zion called Come Worry With Us! Is pretty good. I'd recommend checking it out. Efrum says ",you know" a lot and his wife is really pretty.
so basically r/music is just as bad as /mu/
no actually /mu is quality at least 75% of the time. It's more just shit talking instead of people trying to whore internet points
omg fuck
no actually /mu is quality at least 75% of the time. It's more just shit talking instead of people trying to whore internet points
More like 10% /Mu/ has less circlejerking than reddit, but it's still there, just mixed with edgy trolls trying to bait the circlejerkers. Go to any Swans thread and see if you can find any actual discussion of music Sometimes you get a good thread on /mu/ but you do have to dig through a lot of crap to find it
I've been on /mu/ once and all I remember was finding a thread of people posting downloads to skramz bands [editline]13th June 2014[/editline] Its the only time I've ever been on 4chan
so basically r/music is just as bad as /mu/
/mu/ keep it real though, they don't avoid calling out artists on their bullshit unlike r/music. [editline]13th June 2014[/editline]
why would you wear this
For the may may factor.
More like 10% /Mu/ has less circlejerking than reddit, but it's still there, just mixed with edgy trolls trying to bait the circlejerkers. Go to any Swans thread and see if you can find any actual discussion of music Sometimes you get a good thread on /mu/ but you do have to dig through a lot of crap to find it
To be fair, any music section of any forum ends up with people just disagreeing on who's better at what and all that shit. I just like /mu because it's not all this flowery bullshit like r/music. Any any place that has a format that focuses on thread content instead of link content is always going to end up better. I'll never get into r/music because of the amount of popular stuff that is constantly upvoted to the top. You can't have decent discussions because of the way their up/down vote system works. Anything quality is downvoted into obscurity because people assume that a downvote means disagreement when it actually means the post doesn't contribute. So with any sort of forum dedicated to a subjective topic, the downvote brigade ruins most of the actual quality content. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a fucking song by Dream Theater or The Black Keys at the top of the page on r/music. I go to music sites to discover new stuff, not look at all the shit that's already been established as quality, thats why we have top 100 lists and shit like that. Here is good because it's small and the regulars understand how you're supposed to talk about music. [editline]13th June 2014[/editline] /drunken rant [editline]13th June 2014[/editline] Like for real, I jsut went and checked on it right now and there's a fucking link to a Gojira song. All these upvotes and no actual comments or discussion on the topic. That's not how a forum should fucking work.
I visited letstalkmusic a few times and it was quite good. They have this policy of comments having to be well thought out rather than just one word posts etc. I don't know if they actually discuss obscure stuff or anything but they have a weekly discussion thread and usually people will give their thoughts about the stuff they be listening to. One thing kind of put me off. I recall seeing a big post that had about a million upvotes that was basically saying pitchfork is a conspiracy and they only rate bands based on popularity etc. It felt a bit too tinfoil hat for me, but I could be wrong.
pitchfork is pretty shit though. half their reviews are just mindless word wankery tbh. almost like dream theater in word version.
