the thing I really like about tyler is his relationship with kanye
i use the term dadrock to bash old music but I dont actually hate older music cos that would be stupid. Like Velvet Underground could pretty easily be categorised as "dad rock" but they are fantastic so they are not dad rock it is not a legitimate term at all
I just use it to refer to rock music that my dad has been listening to for years so I think I'm using it properly

dad rock isn't an insult at all tbh, but people get offended by it.
Dad rock is just like a jokey term but people always see it as a pejorative. It's hilarious in itself.
this is the father of all dad albums:

Not many people say "Yeah I listen to dadrock and stuff yeah" unless they are being ironic or joking or something, the only times Ive seen the term used are when people are insulting other people's music taste, so it seems to me like it's pretty much a negative term.
It's fine if you want to use it to describe a certain kind of music and I know some people don't mean it negatively but it can come off as being dismissive and I don't see the point in using the term at all really.
I would rather use the term classic rock or something,
American Idiot is nearly 10 years old, can that be classified as classic rock?

dislike what you dislike, son. it's cool.
my view on it is; if you like the same thing hell yeah that's fun, but if you don't like the same thing it's cool and you probably like things I don't like but that's life and it's fun
be passionate about what you like and disregard what you don't like but never treat something like it's bad because someone else probably thinks that it's hella cool and you should respect that at all times
if everyone liked the same things it would be pretty boring
just dropping some truth

i've been listening to nothing but mf doom for the past few days. i love it so much, mostly his newer stuff.
my most listened rapper (that isn't donald glover) is chris webby because I'm a white male that goes to college that isn't tough enough for real hip hop

Actively dislikes, as in going around saying oH MAN ALESTORM ARE SO SHIT IM EAN PIRATES WHAT A GIMMICK

the rudest, I would be cool with it if they said ''the pirate theme isn't my thing'', it's practically the same thing but polite
people should try to be polite more often, especially when it comes to music discussion where things can get quite heated and rude very fast (because people take it too serious and judge on music taste too often)

this chick I met here this summer that lives in america said that your place in the social hierarchy is even decided by what music you listen to in her area like wtf (americans pls confirm if this is normal or not)
normal only if you are a giant fucking nerd with no social functionality most normal people dont give a fuck about what music you listen to
normal only if you are a giant fucking nerd with no social functionality most normal people dont give a fuck about what music you listen to
the older I get the more I find out how the 12-14 y/o me's music taste was on point
[editline]awd[/editline]
which was mostly because I didn't care about the social stigma that is attached to liking certain music in select social circles and I've learned in the past year to stop caring about so I went back to liking what I like ayyyyyyyyyyyyy
